Resort was beautiful. My husband and I stayed there for 6 days. Our butlers Daniel and Alby were very nice and helpful. They fulfilled all of our requests. All of the staffs were very friendly everywhere we went. BEWARE with sellers/vendors by the beach. They don’t have prices labeled clearly on the merchandises. Luckily we didn’t buy much, but we got scammed. We bought 2 carved stones. The vendors had wrapped it in papers and put it in a bag for us. We had trusted them and did not check the items until once we got back to the States. This vendor gave us only 1 of the item when we had paid for 2 items. If you do buy from those vendors on the beach, make sure to check all our items before you leave their store.
I like to thank the reservations department Yolanda Badilla for being very professional and helping with booking us the night it was a last minute decision on our part to stay at the resort and when I called she was so helpful and made me feel very special to stay I want to thank you for your professional work I appreciate that a lot you made us very happy 👌
Outstanding Fall getaway
This was our 2nd time to the Grand Bavaro and it was just as fabulous as the first. We stayed at Iberostar Grand in January and returned the end of October to early November. Weather was terrific and experience was relaxing and enjoyable. We instantly recognized familiar faces to greet us and they recognized us! Abduhl greeted us getting out of the van and remembered our faces. Our room location was again on the outside perimiter in a standard room, 4th floor above the restaraunt side. It was quiet and secluded and we had outstanding butlers, Justof, Silvestor, Junior, and Starling. Many bubble baths and champagne and flowers awaited us each day after the beach. It was always a surprise. The workers all do such a good job to make our stay pleasant and memorable. When visiting the Surf and Turf restaraunt, Merari remembered us and greeted us with a warm welcome. This was our favorite place to eat! The servers in some of the restaraunts, Franklin, Hamlet , Brianda, Irbania, Yari, and Loraine were all wonderful. Always smiling and happy to help us ! This is our favorite Iberostar Grand resort, although they are all equally wonderful. The beach is beautiful, both seasons we visited. We will most definitely be back to visit!
We have been to this resort 4 times this year and are now reserved for February 2020. We cannot get enough of the staff here at this location led my Mini Me, Armando and Yocairi. The most amazing people you will ever find.
The Most Extraordinary Staff of All
This was our second trip to the Grand Bavaro. On this trip we took the time to see all the entertainment shows in the evening – something we failed to do but once on our previous trip. We were so sorry that we did not go to last year’s shows ¬– we never realized what we had missed! The band and singers are brilliant, personable and welcoming. The dancers are exceptional and it was wonderful that they joined the lobby events and asked guests to dance. The costuming is gorgeous. The ‘after-show’, when the singer sang a few more songs was our favorite part. Every evening after the show we thought that there was no way the next show could be any better – then on our last night we saw the Vegas Show. Incredible!! The two acrobats certainly rival Cirque du Soleil shows we have seen in Vegas and elsewhere. Simply put – all the shows were outstanding. Our days were made all the more special by the entertainment staff – dance lessons, volleyball, etc. Seeing their smiling faces and experiencing their buoyant personalities throughout the day and evening brightened our trip considerably. We enjoyed the time they spent with us tremendously and admire their never failing positive outlooks and attitudes. Of course all the restaurants were very good. We especially enjoyed the beef tenderloin at Le Tourbillon – on three occasions! The Sea Bass at Casa de la Playa was outstanding, made all the more special when Wilfredo skinned and de-boned it tableside. As for the resort rooms – the housekeeping staff did an outstanding job in our room every single day. Our Butler, Dawel made sure that our every need and desire was met on a daily basis. He also ensured that my birthday [how did he even know!?] was especially special: a bed decorated with rose petals, champagne on ice, a chocolate cake and the bath drawn with bubbles and flowers! We would like to mention the following by name as they stood out from the already exceptional staff: Extremely Outstanding Entertainment Staff: Adrien [Hot Chocolate], Arismendy [Mini-Me], Ruth, Ariela, Miguel Outstanding Restaurant Staff: Francia, Brianda, Wilfredo Outstanding Lobby Staff: Jaqueline, Tomas Outstanding Pool Bar Staff: Tobias Extremely Outstanding Lobby Entertainment: Johanny Justo Extremely Outstanding Entertainment: House Band, Singers and Dancers Outstanding Butler: Dawel The only problem we have is that after experiencing the Grande Bavaro twice – how will we ever stay at any other Iberostar since the same staff will not be there? We are already planning our next stay!
