Amazing Experience in the Dominican Republic

Iberostar Grand definitely lives up to the expectations. From the time I checked in until I left, the service and kindness was exceptional. I traveled solo but I didn’t feel alone ever. My butlers Denny and Fermin were amazing, they went above and beyond anything I could have expected. Silvestere and Luis also took care of me in their absence. My housekeeping staff was also amazing, they take pride in their jobs. It was my birthday so they decorated my room and made my experience special! I chose to be active and the activity staff was nothing less than amazing. I took most of the dance lessons and participated in a lot of the activities during the day. They ensured I had a lot of fun. There was so much to do all day and I stayed entertained. I have to give a huge thanks to Johana, Ruth, Ariela, Babyface, Miguel, Mini Me, Isabel and Hot Chocolate. They all made my experience memorable. Each night at the shows one of them would sit and keep me company, so I didn’t have to sit alone. They are all great, if you visit-make sure you meet them. In the evenings they had entertainment in the lobby and themed shows each day. The violinist was my favorite lobby entertainer... he was really good! The shows were fun and a good way to relax at night. The food was plentiful and flavorful. My favorite experience was Hashira the Japanese restaurant... So delicious! The waitstaff were great. Mr. Erbin took care of me when I had breakfast everyday and he was so pleasant. I also spent a lot of time by the pool area and ate lunch at the grill a few days and Mr. Marlon Jacobs always took care of me, he was such an attentive, funny and pleasant waiter. The room was smaller than the Iberostar Grand in Montego Bay but it was still comfortable, clean and the room temperature was pleasant. Pros: A real all inclusive experience, Easy fast check-in process, Food, Staff, Butler, Waiters, Housekeeping Staff, Activities, Beach, Heated pools, Customer Service, the nightly shows were fun, Hashira Restaurant, and the Fit and Fun Gum with all the classes they have available to keep you fit. Cons: I would not recommend attending the presentation, it’s two hours and it was my least favorite part of my experience. I had an unpleasant experience with Darla the closer who is very aggressive, unprofessional and she attempted to insult my intelligence with her comments. There is an appropriate and inappropriate way to approach sales and her approach is not what works for me. I will say however my experience with Michel and Hansel was extremely pleasant and I would deal with them again. Overall an exceptional solo trip experience.

    50th Birthday Celebration

We went to this hotel to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday. It was AMAZING!! All of the reviews were spot on. Great food, location and loved the butlers and the excellent service. My husband played golf here too and it was a beautiful golf course. We also got massages and enjoyed all of the good food. We felt totally safe and it was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at for vacation. The bed was hard but they gave us extra padding to make it softer. Loved the jetted bathtub too!

It is WONDERFUL and totally SAFE to go here!

Amazing food, resort, and people. Great butler service. Resort and the beach is nice and clean. We've tried most of the foods and drinks - salmon/beef sashimi, most of the seafoods, beer, alcohol, desserts, etc. ALL diarrhea or feeling sick at all. So don't worry about the news JUST IF you are staying in this resort. Can't promise about others. MUST TRY: Thurs. buffet Gala night - if you love all you can eat big lobsters! TIPS: I've joined few excursions from the store next by the beach. They are not too reliable and they are NOT belong to the resort, so be careful. You may compare the price with the resort agent before make up your mind. Same as shopping, take a quick look with the "market" in the resort FIRST to give you a general idea how much should you expect. Then you can shop at the local stores along the beach and bargain with a MUCH lower price (but the resort stores have much better quality!) SEAWEED REPORT: Much better than I expect. No seaweed at all in the water and just some along the beach but not crazy.

    Great hotel

The Iberostar Grand Bavaro was great because it was an ADULT only all inclusive resort. We had plenty of restaurants to choose from. They typically had plenty of hostesses/host around the pool area to take drink orders, etc. It helps to tip but isn't required. We definetly got undivided service by tipping. The shows in the evening were fun and different. Not Broadway worthy but fun. Our only complaint the entire trip was that we had lots of seaweed in the water and on the beach. This is very unusual but we were told it was due to the multiple hurricanes that had hit that previous year.

    Truly Excellent Vacation

My husband and I recently stayed six nights at the Iberostar Grand and we truly enjoyed our stay. We have been to seven other wonderful all inclusive resorts, and this one, by far, had the most immaculate grounds and facilities. We met Rodrige (one of the groundskeepers) and I swear he is the hardest working person I have ever seen. He even got us a fresh coconuts to drink one day! The grounds were simply stunning. We loved our ocean view room and it was cleaned, not once, but twice every day and it was always spotless thanks to Rosalba and Maritza. The towel art and the fresh cut flowers were appreciated each day. Our butler Edward was wonderful. He checked in with us several times each day and made sure that all of our requests, no matter how small, were met. This was our first experience with a personal butler and he set the bar VERY high. He went out of his way to make our 9th anniversary celebration special. The personal touches were impressive! We used the Iberostar app to view the pillow menu and Edward always checked to see if we were happy with our choices. One night, we accidentally left our safe open when we went to dinner. When we returned we found a note stating that our safe had been found open by the staff and for our safety, it was locked with a special code. A member of security and a butler arrived to open the safe and they waited for us to evaluate that all of the contents were there before leaving us to put in a new code. The attention to the safety of the guests was impressive. Also, The entertainment crew is amazing. Probably the best of any resort we have ever been to. BabyFace, Mini Me, and Hot Chocolate have such positive energy and we loved talking to them! There are always activities going on, but there is also plenty of time to relax. Getting a pool cabana was never a problem and we loved not having to worry about renting them like at other resorts. I’m not sure if this would have been an issue in the busy season, but it wasn’t for us. Suari at the pool made sure we always had drinks and Wendy at the grill was so attentive! We really liked being able to have lunch poolside at the grill. Our day was made at the buffet each day by Ortiz, Ramon, Francia, Marlon, and Jose (though he may have been our waiter at El Galeon, which was a great experience too). At the buffet, there are options for everyone to eat. The food and drinks were wonderful. Our glasses were refilled before we could even think of asking. The beach is so clean and we loved having such a long stretch to walk on. We will be sure to spread the word about this hotel to our friends back home. The entire time we were here we felt special, relaxed, and more importantly, safe.
