We have a amazing time we stayed for 7 nights beach is beautiful food is okay people at the front desk not so friendly I think they need to be training some of them has a attitude beach is beautiful hotel ground nice end clean
i stayed at many resorts in punta cana and this one was my least favorite so far. the entertainment was good, drinks were good, food was average. but our room was so old and the cement in the bathtub was all chipped. one night i was sitting on the balcony on the couch and i noticed a WHOLE bunch of ants crawling on the couch around me. i immediately got up and my husband looked behind the cushion to find a DEAD LIZARD that i was sitting on. they wouldn't do anything about my room since i had complained they just wanted me to pay extra to "upgrade". they sent a bottle of champagne to my room. my husband lost his watch and his cologne and we tried calling them and contacting them and all they kept doing was hanging up on us. they clearly did not care. very disappointing as a guest. and one of the pools were closed so we had to use the "other pool" that was right next to the broken pool and u would hear all the drilling as ur trying to lay out and relax. the tiles around the pool are SO slippery that people were constantly slipping and falling. one lady slipped and broke her shoulder!! won't stay here again.
Beach Club's Best Service, since Existence
Our visit (11th since April 2012) was from April 3rd to the 17th, Obviously, we love this hotel, mainly because of the Fantastic employees and the incredible Beach. The weather was fantastic for the 2 weeks. It rained at night. We were offered a Second Level, Ocean Front Suite, just next to the Club. We had a Great view. For those of you who enjoy the Beach Club at the Dominicana, please be advised that, they will build a new Beach Club at the Northern end of the Iberostar Beach, next to the Riu's, and this Club will be for the members who reserve the Punta Cana and the Dominicana hotels and that it will not be possible to rent a Suite at the Dominicana anymore, they will become part of the Bavaro. So if you enjoy the Dominicana's Club House, you will have to rent at the Bavaro. The people who will reserve the new Punta Cana Beach Club, will have a Beach House in the Lobby of the Punta Cana. Those changes are suppose to happen in the next few months. We received great service from the many concierges, during our stay. Starting with Maria, great friendly smile, also Patricia and Fatima, those are the names we remember, but everyone were very helpful. Now for the Beach service at the Club, it's our fourth year as members visiting the Dominicana. This Group is the Best so far. Starting with José (another Great smile) and Kenny, both super helpful. Now for the waiters, where the biggest improvements were noticed. Heydey and Jeyson were Great and up to the tasks. This is not an easy job and many, in the past, couldn't cope. We love to go from The Dominicana to the Punta Cana's Bar, unfortunatly Leo and his partner aren't there anymore, but the Ladies carry on the Tradition. The Restaurants Menu, Service and Food is still the same and very good. We went to the Rock Café twice, the Gourmet, Mexican and Asian once. The other nights, we went at the Buffet or had Room Service. We had our lunches, mainly at the Dominicana's Beach Restaurant and it was OK, but i have 2 suggestions: I think it should be possible every day to prepare ourselves tacos and tortillas, alternating beef, pork and chicken, also, you should always have a bolognese sauce and spaghetti available. We did not watch many shows, being in bed early, but they always attract a lot of people, the Star Friends are a Great Bunch. But the Number 1 attraction is still the Beach....As members, we've visited the Tucan in Playa Del Carmen and Playa Mita near Puerto Vallarta, but the Best Beach is in Punta Cana. We're going back in Late November, to the Bavaro..... Hoping this is helpful, J-F
Great family holiday with an unexpected happy ending
We visited from April 6 to 13, 2019. My husband, son (3 yrs), daughter (5 yrs) and I had a wonderful holiday. The weather was great, the beach is beautiful and the resort has everything you need. The rooms were clean, the food was good (and even better because I didn't have to cook it), and plenty of drinks and ice cream. The Kids Club staff were incredible and had activities to keep the kiddos entertained. MOST importantly, I would like to highlight that I left my wedding rings in our room when we departed. AND Iberostar Dominicana staff were able to find them, keep them safe for me and coordinate the return of my rings. I will be forever grateful to them for this miraculous return of my rings. I can not speak highly enough about the professionalism of Guest Services and of the staff overall. For all this, I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, safe and fun holiday.
Honest Review - (I am also a travel agent)
My husband, my 8 year old son and myself checked in the Iberostar for Spring break starting on 4/21/19. The lobby was nice open and airy and the check-in process was smooth. They were able to get us a room earlier than anticipated (around 2:00 pm) which was nice. We met with Angel guest services and gave him our restaurant choices for the week. (we were allowed to choose 3 restaurants) We were able to get in with all 3 restaurants. The la carte restaurants were average. The best by far was the Mexican one (which previous posts indicated). The buffet was surprisingly better that I thought. Word to the wise. Get to breakfast before 10:00 a.m. they start cleaning up and there will be nothing left. The second day at the resort they shut down the main pool and baby pool :0( MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT we were fortunate because we had excursions booked..but that meant there was only 1 pool available for all the guests... it was simply too many people for one small pool. I also had a pool view room, which consisted of construction banging at 8:30 am. sighhh. There explanation was something with filtration. (SAD) Entertainment was pretty good. The rooms are basic, but the bed was fine and I left tips for the cleaning staff which took very good care of us. The outside gardens and landscaping is stellar and those staff work very hard with up keep. Acaira from guest services certainly shined and helped me make a reservation or dinner off the resort. I appreciate you! Drinks were average - not top shelf. But you get for what you pay for. The Staff was friendly - though there was a language barrier at times. I know alittle spanish so we got by okay. I probably won't return.
