7th trip to Iberostar Cozumel
This year we had the ocean front bungalow. It was amazing! Our week was so relaxing and fun. This resort makes you feel like family. You can do a lot or do nothing! We are club members and they treat you so nice and have a wonderful club area with it's own pool. Erika at the club resort is right there to make arrangements for anything you want.
Great resort - no need to wander!
Iberostar Cozumel is a terrific full-service resort with tons of activities, food, and drinks on site. Great staff, very good food, and terrific facilities make staying here a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.
I do not know how they are able to call themselves 4 star. Maybe 2.5-3 star at most. Service is horrendous, the rooms were motel level, no AC!!! Mosquitoes and bugs everywhere. Dead wasps around pool. Stung one of our group kids. Food was mediocre. My kids can cook better than this place. Drinks were all watered down and cheap! They penny and done you! Even the better drinks were not offered as part of the all inclusive! That has never happened at other REAL 4 star all inclusive. We are never going to recommend an iberostar resort again! They lost clients from our entire group and from our travel agent! The only good thing about this location is the Kids Star Camp!!! Ismael was the best guy. My kids loved kids club!!! That was the saving grace to this location!!
Great place for family vacation
We brought our 2 girls and had a fanstastic time! We had a poolside room with working AC (actually it was too cold). We rather enjoyed the island feel and not having AC in the buffet style restaurants was fine with us. There were ceiling fans circulating the air, and for us, the only place that was really "hot" was near where the foods were cooked. My kids LOVED the Star Camp and the camp staff! Ismael was amazing with our kids, as was Alisa (?) and everyone else. The entertainment was good, my kids loved it, although it was a bit late for them, they enjoyed staying up late. The food was good and because of all the options, my picky eaters actually tried different things...that's a win for us! The ocean near the dock was a little rocky, so I'd recommend water shoes/aqua socks or something to protect your feet. But otherwise it was a nice beach with a little seaweed, but not unbearable. We truly enjoyed ourselves. My only criticism would be that not all the bartenders are good at making mixed drinks, so once we found a few, we gravitated towards them to make sure ours were on point.
This place does not deserve 4 stars.. Maybe my standards are high but this was not a place you want to visit if you expect great service.. the temperatures here were humid and hot... that’s not the issue the issue was that the air conditioning went out almost every other night and it was not comfortable... another issue is if you are not specific about what you need as far as a room then you will receive the most smallest room they have for 4 people it was so very small.. they don’t let you upgrade till the next day which we had to and pay an extra $1000... the buffet is in a restaurant that has NO air conditioning so you sweat while you eat then the restaurants that you can make reservations are not very good.. The alcohol is the lowest quality you can get and if you want top shelf it will cost you extra.. I have never been so excited to come home from a family vacation! But I will say the kids club was amazing with the kids! At least our children were entertained:-) I prefer playa de Carmen over Cozumel...
