Our two kids had an amazing time in Star Camp Iberostar Cozumel. They really enjoyed the company of all Star Camp’s staff. Lola and Adel and other guys were so friendly and nice to us. They were so reliable and helpful with our kids. Our kids had so much fun. Star Camp really made our vacation so wonderful. We stayed at Iberostar from May 8th to May 15th and all Iberostar Star Camp’s staff was just amazing. Thank you so much for all your help with our kids. Yana and Yuri.

    Great holiday few drawbacks

The hotel is fantastic. The food at the buffet for breakfast and dinner is excellent with even the fussiest eater being catered for. Pork belly is the best I have ever had. There is always a joint each night which was also cooked to perfection with excellent selections of condiments and one of the best chimichurri I have ever had. Fruits and juices in the morning also excellent and fresh. Lunch is down by the pool and if you don’t fancy the buffet you can still go and get food from the snack bar and still have it in the buffet restaurant. Special mention to Adolfo in the evenings who always remembered what drinks we would usually have and got us a drinks menu on the first evening. Looks like there has been a change for the al acarte restaurants no longer requiring a booking this may not be the case in high season though. Pool is kept very clean. Ana was excellent at bring drinks around roughly every half hour and even remembered I stuck to non alcoholic in the morning but would usually have a cocky in the afternoon. my best advise is tip like an American for all areas couple of dollars for each drink seemed greatly appreciated. I usually left $5 each day for the room. Rooms kept very clean and we had not issues with air con in fact some of the best air conditioned rooms we have stayed in. Nor did we notice the sewage smell some reviews have. Out understand this is because they use recycled water but only spray it around 6:30am and never near the restaurants or pool areas. Getting a taxi from the hotel is easy just take a screenshot of where you want to go and the bellboy will take care of the rest. My only two negatives are the below: Firstly the lobby drinks service is non existent with the man who I think should be serving standing around chatting to the barman . I think in 7 days maybe twice where we served sitting down otherwise it’s just going up to bar itself and ordering. It seems a shame when everyone else seems to work so hard. Anyone going with BA from UK don’t use nexus for the transfers getting a taxi is easy down to the ferry terminal which should be about $80 for two people and cases, the ferry tickets are about $15 each then taxis are right outside the ferry terminal in Cozumel. Taxis are easy in Cozumel with one company operating all a reasonable from the ferry to the hotel was $25. Nexus are hopeless and do not turn up. They even have a base at the hotel. Do not use them for snorkelling trips use dressel divers nexus charge double the cost and are nowhere near as good shame the hotel even allows them on the premises. This is my main reason for dropping a star as Nexus are just crooks who I don’t believe the hotel should be associated with.

Pleasantly surprised. An honest review from a seasoned traveler

My dad, brother and I are scuba divers and have gone to Cozumel many times. We had never done an all inclusive resort and decided to try it out. We went with Iberostar due to the ratings, location (right near Palancar and great sites), dive shop on the property, and terrific price. We were all pleasantly surprised and booked another trip for June 2024 and are bringing along my uncle and cousin as well. A few negatives - it is hot with the indoor outdoor dining and mosquitos are annoying. I will combat that this time with a neck cooling ring I got on Amazon and a bug spray I use in the states that has no smell. The rooms are not luxurious by any means but they’re fine. Pool is too warm as well, not so refreshing. The rest are all positives. Surprisingly good food, great staff, entertainment shows, and of course amazing diving with very short boat rides. Overall, the bang for your buck at this place is amazing. We plan to come back for an annual guys dive trip moving forward. I do not recommend staying here if you’re not a diver. I’d probably get pretty bored if I didn’t dive.

Why go anywhere else? Great service, great staff and friendly people.

Unbelievable service, good food and beautiful setting. Last resort on the island and the beaches are walkable and safety is of no concern. Staff was excellent and Cesar at guest services was great and very helpful, we never felt pressure, only genuine assistance.

The place is amazing! This is our 2nd time here. It’s so unique to other hotels with the colorful cute huts. Max and the entertainment staff were great. Actually all the staff are great. The biggest problem is the staff having to work wearing clothes that should be worn in a winter place. These poor staff members are working so hard why sweating to death. Please atleast have them wear short sleeves and not long sleeves. If we are sitting and sweating imagine how hot the staff is working. Also food is all so good but it’s so hard to enjoy sitting and dining with no air conditioning. This place is by far one of the best places. Everyone is so sweet and nice and go the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy and everything is spotless clean. Please bring back the steakhouse.
