Love the rooms
Rooms are great. Beaware the hotel is open aired. Also about 45 minutes from the airport. Bars open late and close early. The pool and beach location are great. Recommend renting a cabanna but do it before you go as they sell out quickly.
The Hyatt Regency Maui was amazing. It is a beautiful property with all the amenities needed. I especially loved the honeymooners reception and the Poke Nachos! Also we were able to book all of our activities at the hotel at a great price! We were able to do everything we wanted to!
Grounds are amazing at this family friendly hotel.
Fun hotel with a lot of activities for the kids. Beautiful grounds, and supportive staff. Had additional requests from the staff, which were taken care of right away. Only complaint was the neighbors kept us up - the adjoining doors need to be thicker.
Feed the Birds and Fish!
Each morning at 9:30AM the Hyatt Regency has an activity for kids to experience. Go through the lobby, turn right to go outside and it is just before you get onto the balcony. It involves a caretaker feeding fish to the resident South African penguins with a little explanation on the right side. It is followed by the caretaker putting out food pellets for the koi (carp) fish just next door which the kids can toss into the water for the giant fish to consume. And if you go outside, head for the golf course and there is a bridge where bits of bread or dry chum thrown into the stream might attract herons. egrets, schools of fish, and ducks. A great morning outing for adults too!
DO NOT RECOMMEND!
We recently stayed here and I have to say this was one of the worst places I have ever stayed. We checked in late, while checking in the people in-front of us were complaining about the cleanliness of their room. Wegot possibly the worst room available at the hotel as it was at max cap. Our room was so filthy we couldn’t even shower after traveling all day. The pool IS beautiful except for the families fighting over chairs and umbrellas, the employees had to break it up. There were straws and cups floating around in the pool along with empty beer cans. It felt like spring break in Cancun. We complained several time with no success. Upon check out we asked to speak to the manager who could care less about what we had to say. I would never stay here again or recommend it to any of my clients. My favourite part of staying here was leaving.
