    Dissapointed for a supposed 4 star on trip advisor

    I visted this resort July28-Aug 10, paid for a superior select room which was to include all domestic drinks, breakfast snacks and depending who you talked to, 1 supper for staying longer than 7 days or ( website/ sunwing says 2 suppers) First, multiple times never got water in room after asking multiple times.. ( you also need to pay 150 pesos if you want to use tbe bar fridge.. just grab a cooler box from oxxo across the road) coming from Canada, I could not use the tap water, needed the bottled water. Asked reception to pass a note to add water daily and was just told by Reuban, just call room service... I politely asked again as I saud I will be on the beach all day... water never showed up... Tried asking fir water on beach.. one server named Paul charged us 50 pesos for the water, took the money but never got me to sign the bill.. I will also note, very few if any knew English and my spanish was ok but limited. So needless, many times I bought water outside resort. I was on top floor, 11... they do not clean the chairs outside on patio and they are full of pigeon crap. I put the runner bkanket from bed outside on chair so I could use chair, well the burds crapped on that and the housekeeper, who never brought changed towels unless I adked put this crap filled runner back over bed. Never got his/ her name as they bever filled out card. I still tipped them. Almost all bartenders and waiters did nit recognize our pink bracelet as allready oaying extra and having donestuc drinks and snacks included... they continually either wanted to charge ys or refused to give us a drink. Especually the supervusor witj glasses at pool bar... soo rude... Not once did we see an invite for the 1 “ included supper”.... The concierhe was no help in trying to find a contact for sinwing to find out when my transport was coming. There was supposed to be a book that would say behind counter and all he and another guy ( Emmanuel and other guy) kept aying was only in Dec and January... well Im here now, and my travel agent keeps telling me to check at desk. They have no guest services and again very ltd english. They wanted to charge 5 pesis for a local call... everywhere I went they just wanted to charge charge cgarge... this really put a damper and extra on our holiday Room service was a joke .. I beleive girls name was Jessica and kept hanging up or too busy laughing to take our order that they insisted we pay.. which at this point fine but let us order some food... this was my second time to Alcapulco and this resort really dissapointed me. I tried talking to manager and got hung up, my bf very fluent spanish git hing uo on as well. We never received a call back after a supervusor said he would handle everything. Found a cockriach in our room, a/c turned off and always locked at 25 but set at 20... there was just soo much that went wrong.. I will also add that we tipped very well even for service that was horrible. Thankfully Martin was our highlight. I will commend the service I received from Martin at pool bar. He went above and beyond all others. Recognized out bracelet helped us anytime he saw us. Always friendly, smiling and easy to talk to. Salvador the waiter in the buffet area also gave good service. Marco, security on beach was the only one I seen with a smile and made us feel welcome. I really wish the Emporio would communicate with there staff the offerings they are puting out there for international travellers. The beach is beautiful with isla Morro, minus all the hounding venders. I dont know if I would come back after paying alot for services I never received.

    Lack of Hospitality

    I was hesitant to visit Acapulco after all the safety advisories that the American Government is providing, but I took my chances and decided to visit the city. After reading several reviews on hotels I picked Emporio—bad choice. The hotel claims to be 5 stars, it’s not even close to 3. Installations are in serious need of remodeling, at our arrival we wanted to take a shower before heading out for the beach, but there were no towels available in the room. No big deal, we can request them and postpone the shower, so we headed to the beach to find out that the supply of towels was low as well not being able to get towels at all. Next day in the morning after I finally showered we discovered the toilet was clogged and leaking. I picked up the phone to find out it was not working either. We headed to the restaurant for breakfast and stopped at the desk to let them know about the problem in the room. At the restaurant we waited for 10 minutes before my daughter went to the host to request a server, since I am not a fan of buffet, we wanted a la carte items, we specified this prior to requesting a table, when the server finally took our order it took another 20 minutes to get our drinks and 40 more to receive our food. Really? After all this I was ready to complain so I went to the front desk and the line was long and busy. They wanted me to talk to the supervisor, however when I asked them what I was gaining if I spent another hour of my time with them, all they said was for them it’s a way to improve and for me? Nothing, instead I had to pay an additional 400 pesos to add another person to my room, we were 3 however my sister joined us on day 2. Even though the pool is dirty, they charge you for the use of the palapas at the beach which I don’t recommend to use since the beach is invaded with vendors that charge less for umbrellas that block the palapas view. The private beach is not private as I mentioned it’s full of vendors. The beach is filthy, if you want to swim with trash that has being brought back by the sea then stay here, since neither the hotel or the government does anything to clean the beaches. Is so sad that Acapulco has gained a bad reputation for crime, however the real crime here is the lack of hospitality and consciousness to make the place better. They don’t have the dollars coming so they are doing business with everything charging you for even a chair. I did spoke with Gregorio, not gaining anything, not even a discount, I wasn’t looking for one but I have worked in resorts and this not how you treat guests. I forgot to mention the harassment you get if you are not wearing their band on your wrist.

    My partner ended up at the emergency room because of their room service food!! :(

    The only day that we ate at this hotel and ordered room service my partner had the worst stomach infection and I had to take him to the ER. Not to mention that we had several problems in our room and the a/c didn’t was not cool enough. The location is great, but it’s not worth getting very sick. This is our last time staying here!!

    Birthday / Anniversary

    Our stay was perfect, the level of service was one of the best i ever experience in Mexico. Audel our waiter at the restaurant made our mornings very pleasant. Room were impeccable the ocean view was breathless. Carlos and Juan they always were on top of the service at the beach. It was our first time at this hotel and we will comeback asap. Cheers.

    Great experience

    Just one to take the time to thanks some of your staff that make our vacaciones be a great experience. Jorge Mendel at the pool area, he was very professional and helpful, David Candela and Teodoro at the VIP area always whit a big smile and great attitude and Adriana on our check in, she make everything very easy to us. Thank you to all your staff. I love Acapulco and I hope to visiting your hotel soon.
