Lovely beach and delicious food
I will review in point form in order to make it a quick read. FOOD = No complains. Buffet was as good as a buffet can be. Plenty of vegetarian and even vegan options. Omelette station staff were on fire! Jamaican restaurant, seafood restaurant and Italian restaurant were all ace!!!! BEACH = Very clean, beautiful sand, gorgeous clear water and lots of little fish, barracuda, stingrays and crabs to see. POOLS = Clean and there is always lifeguards in duty. We did have to make a formal complaint about one of the lifeguards for making homophobic comments towards my wife and I, then had to explain to our 7 year old daughter what homophobia is. It was rather appalling that a staff member would be so unprofessional and rude to a kind family. Nothing was ever said to the straight couples literally making out in the pool, but we got a warning for cuddling on the side watching our daughter swim and were told that children didn’t need to see that. DISGUSTING! EVENING ENTERTAINMENT = It was very mediocre. Not at all the kind of evening entertainment you see in Cuba, Mexico or the Dominican. We were rather disappointed but we played Yahtzee and had fun anyway, lol. ROOMS = Very clean, comfortable beds and pillows. AC worked very well but was extremely loud. Bathroom was tiny but had a large clean shower (no bath). KIDS CLUB = I was appalled to say the least! The staff were completely useless, rude, refused to smile and made excuse after excuse as to why the kids could not be in the kids club. They clearly didn’t want to work so the kids club remained pretty much empty the week we were there. The adults vacationing on the resort came together to take turns watching each other’s kids. Perhaps they should hire new staff that like children. Overall, I would recommend this resort for people that don’t have a high enough budget to go to a place with better service. I do not recommend this resort for gay people or families.
Best Holiday and Great Service
The location is great and the overall property is wonderful. Great food selection, a world-class spa, beautiful white sandy beaches, entertainment is great and the suites are huge. Make sure to request building 7. The staff and management are friendly, excellent customer services, over 5 restaurants, and the food is great, I would definitely return as a guest and recommend it to my family and friends.
I like it! Very nice and clean hotel. I will come back again and i will choose the same hotel. Staff friendly, they helped me with everything i need it. I called in the night and they helped me with some extra towels
Best Holiday Ever
The only bad thing I can think of to say about this hotel is the lack of air conditioning. There are A/C units in the rooms and you can set them as low as 61F (16C) but they really don't get any lower than 25C or so. They're also very noisy and kept me awake at night. But that's literally the only thing I didn't like. Rooms: we booked a standard room with a partial sea view. We were on the top floor of building 2 and the view was only obscured with a few palm trees and the ice cream hut. It was beautiful. The room was spotlessly clean and had 2 Queen sized beds, a sofa, a desk and chair, plenty of drawer and hanger space, and a television. The bathroom was small but adequate with a bath and overhead shower. The water pressure was great! Food: the buffet was genuinely the best I've ever had at an all inclusive resort with a good mix of Jamaican and American foods. Breakfast was pretty much the same every day with cereals, bread, fresh fruit, yoghurt, and various cooked items. There was also smoked salmon, bagels, and an omelette station. There are 4 a la carte restaurants and we tried the Italian which was OK and the seafood place which was excellent. We paid a $29 surcharge for the premium menu and it was totally worth it. Facilities: there are 2 pools; one just for adults which has a swim-up bar that we really liked, and a huge main pool. There was a water sports hut where you could hire snorkels, kayaks and pedal boats free of charge. They've also got a gym and tennis and basketball courts but we didn't use them as who wants to exercise on holiday?? Staff: most of the staff were friendly and efficient. Shout out to Yvonne who works in the lobby bar. She always had a smile and remembered what our favourite drinks were. I had a massage from Tashana in the spa and it was great and she was lovely. I have to say I found Ms Hooper, the manager, to be extremely rude in our dealings with her. We had an issue with our key one day and went to guest services to sort it out. The lady behind the counter immediately tried to assist us but Ms Hooper was standing over her and told her, without addressing us at all, "tell them they need to go join the queue at reception." We'd just come out the pool and were soaking wet and wrapped in towels and the queue at reception was very long as a bus load of new arrivals were checking in. It ended up taking around 45 mins to get into our room as they kept resetting our key and sending us back upstairs before eventually figuring out that the battery in the lock needed changing. The entertainment team were amazing and really tried hard to engage the guests in the daily games and activities. Overall we had a fantastic ten days and the holiday Inn is amazing value for money. It's not a 5 star resort but you're not paying for a 5 star resort. It's clean, the food is nice, the drinks are good, the facilities are way above average and the water sports being included in the price is a really nice touch. The beach is beautiful and maintained to a high standard and there's a lovely cat who lives on it!
Had an amazing two weeks at this hotel! Is it five star? No!! Did you pay for five star ? No!!! Bargain for the price we paid! Rooms were ample clean ,tidy and nice bedding! Air con noisy didn’t bother us no more than having a fan on in summer! Buffett ample sometimes dry mostly average standard all inclusive Sea breeze restaurant too hot needs air con I was brought a fan when I complained Italian was just wonderful was hot on one visit as air con was broken it was even better the second visit when it was working! Snack bar lovely staff great ice cream and popcorn here Barefoot bar food was great and the bar staff were outstanding!! Ewan and Delano made our holiday! Give these staff a bonus! We will return because of them! Kids club my daughter loved it wanted in there all the time! And lastly the beach I will miss that view until I can return! Great job holiday inn
