    Deceptive and unfear treatment

We booked for seven people on line, but only six people went. We booked for 3 adults and 4 children. During booking the ages of each child was given, and they were not considered adults. Upon arriving, we were told that the children were considered adults, and we have to pay an additional $560.00. That's an additional $80.00 per night for an adult. They claimed that adult starts at 13. They said that it was our responsibility to read the fine print when we booked. We asked them to show us the fine print, but they could not find it. These children had been travelling since 4:00 a.m. and by now it was 4:30 p.m. We pleaded, cried, begged, brought evidence that we had no money, but they said we have to. Eventually, they said they will take $360.00. To compensate, they said they would give us two bottles of water each day per room. Everyday we had to go to the office to fight for them. When we threatened to report them to the owner, Mr. Hendricks how we have to fight for the water ever day, they finally decide to give the water daily. In fact, they only gave two bottles of water for one room. They never gave it to both rooms as they had said they would. All four administrators that were working that day were involved, and none of them would relent. There were two people in the registration, one supervisor, and one manager. When we finally got to our room there was water on the dresser and the floor. The following morning there was a pool of water on the floor. The day before we left, we had to call three times for toilet paper while someone was waiting to go to the toilet. Shame on you for treating your guests this way. Please find it within your business policies to refund this extra $360.00 that we didn't plan for and were forced to pay. Receipt info: Date: June 9, 2019, Time: 16:32:00, invoice no: 000004, batch: 000520, trace: 005078, clerk: 1, Ac... 8398, Entry mode: chip, Card: Visa, App: Visa credit, AID: A0000000031010, TVR: 8000008000, TSI: 6800, Amt: $350.00, Approval: 59759B. Please do something about this rip off. My niece couldn't afford to pay this money so I had to pay it. She was supposed to be giving me a treat, but I ended up paying for my treat. Thank you. Value for money

Stayed here for 11 nights 4th to 15th June. This is not the poshest place we’ve ever stayed at but it is definitely one of the most chilled and friendliest hotels we’ve been too! Rooms average but who stays in their room all day! Food was good and drinks including cocktails were excellent, fresh fruits in the cocktails which you don’t get in some of the more expensive hotels! Beach was glorious and no problem getting sun beds, snorkelling around the resort amazing! Would I go back? Definitely!

One star hotel masquerading as a holiday resort

Upon arrival and shown to our room, the room was very very poorly maintained with mould growing on ceiling in the bedroom area and the bathroom air conditioning sounded like an articulated lorry trying to go up a steep hill. The bathroom was dire with lime scale and mould everywhere, the shower tap was corroded hanging off the wall. The patio door to the balcony had the lock missing, an attempt to make it secure with a hook of sorts was just unacceptable. The wood of the balcony was rotten and a health hazard. The room door was I’ll fitting which allowed for the hallway light to flood through as well as it being a fire risk as they would not have kept smoke out of the room for any length of time. The food is not good, lots of the same. Flies and birds in port side restaurant are a major problem. The drinks are watered down the rum punch has no punch. The lobby bar has a great complement of staff in the evening. Odean and Halden made our holiday. They are true masters at customer service and making the best of all situations. Wonderful young men, if they were moved form serving on the lobby Bar then I would say there is nothing to attract you to this place. I must say upon complaining about the state of disrepair we were moved to a room that was just ok. Don’t stay here... look for another option. The only good thing going for it Is the staff. Most of them are great. Some are rude and could do with CS training But I would say 98% are great. Adult pool is a paddling pool with a bar. It’s 3ft deep as are the other pools. The beach is not the best either so if you are looking for lush golden sand the. Choose another hotel. The entertainment is repetitive and boring after seeing/hearing it the first time. I would like to have found some positive to put in this review but I really only had the Lobby Bar with Halden and Odean. So if you are already booked for this place he’d over the lobby bar and get to know these guys. They will make your stay bearable. I wouldn’t stay here under any circumstance

    30th wedding anniversary celebration

May 25th to Jun8th 2019. My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at the Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay. We went with 16 other people. For my husband and I it was our over 30th time at this resort and as usual loved it. Our guests were very impressed with the resort. They enjoyed the food and especially the cleanliness of the rooms. The landscaping is very well kept. But my friends were especially impressed with how the pool was well taken care of.the personnel are quite amazing especially the front desk a gentleman first name Adrien well mannered and friendly. The other great set of people are the dinning room (buffet area) especially a young chap by the name of Lloyd and a young lady by the name of Cheryl W.they made my whole crew feel at home and happy. A few of my guests have walking canes and these people (Lloyd and Cheryl)made them feel so secure and well taken care of.and the housekeeping staff are amazing. The only area for me that has to be more taken care of is the bar people especially the one in the main lobby the people working there need a whole lot of training in making drinks and especially in customer service department. My husband here in Canada works in the maintenance area and mentioned to a manager that certain equipment that the hotel should have are what we call a scrubbing machine for the floors. She was very interested in the info and said they will look into it. One thing about the managers whether it is Ms. W. Hooper or Ms. Karen Guthery they listen and take advise and try to get them done. They are very easy to communicate with. For me if you want a great time at a good price nook your next vacation at the Holiday Inn Resort.
