CLOSE TO ALL THE ACTION
one block back from the beach road, almost in line with the big Cahuna statue was the perfect location. great views of the ocean on the 22nd floor as well as the city and surrounding buildings. the bar open 24/7.. fantastic and all staff on the ball and ready for action. bus stop out the front all going to the Ala Moana centre and suggest you get some day tickets as uber can be more expensive than taxis here. just check before booking. pool area is a little dated and small but really who cares when you have Waikiki beach on your door step, good for happy hour foyer is not climate controlled and concierge can be a little testy under pressure. reception staff were always very helpful and pleasant. bell desk also had a great team. rooms were good, well maintained and up to date. most things in Hawaii are above the mark as everything is bought in so dont expect to visit on a budget. could stay here again but want to try outrigger on the beach, when you see its entrance you ll know why. happy travels
Paradise found in middle of Waikiki
Extremely convenient to all Waikiki Beach activities and restaurants. Can view Diamond Head a short distance away. If not interested in the hustle and bustle of the Beach area there is plenty to keep you busy in comfort at the Hotel. I would highly recommend Mai Ti's at the bar.
A Great Location but certainly not tranquility!
We had booked two nights in the hotel before joining our cruise ship for the Islands cruise. When we arrived there was a queue of about 50 guest waiting to check in! If you go, request speedy check in before you go. We paid to be bumped up the queue for an earlier check in for 50 dollars. The hotel is like a mini city with tower blocks, shops and restaurants and a map to guide you around the place. It was bustley, busy and quite noisy. Having said that, it seemed to be what most guests wanted! Our room was a delight with views over the resort and onto the beach and sea. There was live music, fireworks on Saturday and a very busy and noisy restaurant on the beach front. The hotel is well situated to get around and served its purpose well. I am not sure I could handle a week! The best place to relax was on the beach! If you want a party, this is the hotel for you. After Yosemtie and Napa it was certainly different.
Amazing experience at this Hilton!
This was mine and my husbands first time to Hawaii and I did a lot of research on hotels in Wakiki beforehand. We chose the Hilton and I am so glad we did. They went above and beyond our expectations and we had the most amazing experience here. I let them know in advance we were coming to celebrate my birthday and our 17th wedding anniversary and they made sure to not only acknowledge that at check in, but they left a complimentary bottle of champange and box of chocolates along with a card in our room as well. Such a nice and thoughtful personal touch that we really appreciated. As for our room, all I can say is WOW. We were on the 35th floor and had an amazing corner room with wrap around balcony that provided us with the most beautiful view of the ocean. The room was clean and modern, but one of my favorite things about it was the Serenity bed and pillows. Good God, that is one comfortable bed. It's like sleeping on a cloud. LOVED IT! Everybody from the staff was super friendly and helpful. We ate at the Mac restaurant our first night there and it definitely lives up to all the hype. The food was incredible, I highly recommend the coconut shrimp with a guava-licious. YUM. We made sure to get executive lounge access to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast each morning as well. I don't understand why there are complaints about this in other reviews. I thought the breakfast was awesome. The fact that's it's downstairs basically in the "basement" of the hotel was not an issue for us. There were a wide variety of breakfast choices, and they had something different each day we were there. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, muffins. They had fried potatoes with bell peppers and onions one day that were soooo good. It's in a very clean area with plenty of tables and space. I loved it and thought the layout of everything was fantastic. We also visited the pool area and ordered some drinks from the bar. That was fun and the bartended was friendly and gave us recommendations and helpful tips on places to go and things to do around Wakiki. Again, can't rant and rave about how helpful and friendly the staff was enough. The walk to the beach is literally a block away, it's almost like being beachfront without all the noise and hustle and bustle of the crowds. We were beyond pleased with our stay at the Hilton Wakiki Beach and would highly recommend. We can't wait to come back. Thank you Hilton Wakiki Beach for making our first trip to Hawaii such a wonderful and memorable one! We loved everything about our stay, not one complaint at all. Mahalo!
Good hotel but not on the beach
This is a typical Hilton quality hotel but despite its name, it is not located on Waikiki Beach. It is located a very, very long block back from the beach and on a very busy street. This road is noisy and is a main bus route. In fact there is a bus stop immediately outside the hotel, including a tour bust stop. So if you pay the premium for an ocean view room, be prepared to be woken up very early by traffic noises and also the garbage collection services in the area. The hotel rooms are very nicely decorated and bedding is comfortable and bathrooms clean and functional. The bar closes early at 10 pm. Entertainers appear nightly in the lounge at the lobby bar. The hotel is located at the Diamond Head end of the main Waikiki beach tourist area.
