The staff were friendly and the valet were amazing at giving tips. Greater and chatted with them every day. My stay was for 30 days and they made it free like home away from home. I would recommend this hotel to friends, family and coworkers.
Not 4 star, dated, small room, dirty floor. & beware of restaurant rip offs.
We stayed a couple of weeks at this hotel and wished we hadn't.. Our room was small with no room for baggage and the only chair provided was a broken office chair which leaned back almost level to the floor. The wardrobe was in the bathroom and the doors didn't close completely allowing a room full of steam to cover all the clothes. The floor coverings were filthy. After walking barefoot throughout the day our feet were black. This was reported to the staff who said it would be passed on to housekeeping. We see there have been previous complaints about this so no doubt management are well aware of this issue but do nothing about it. We ordered room service and expected the cost to be $55 US. It was going to be charged at $75US as there was a 21%" tax" added we were told.! The in room menu states "subject to a 17% service charge and 4.71% state tax" The restaurant menu states "for groups of 8 or more an 18% gratuity and 4.71% state tax is charged" I reported this to management and it was ignored. Why the different language and service charge/gratuity different? This is fraudulent if you paid a room service bill with 21% added. 'subject to' implies you must pay it! Be very wary of these extra charges, at the very least misleading. Damaging to the Hilton brand and as such we will never stay in another Hilton property again. This hotel is obviously wanting to make up for the lousy wages they pay their workers by ripping guests off. Overall disgusted with Hilton.
Double check room charge before stay
Called and booked my room for travel. Was quoted the base rate over the phone and I booked. Upon checkout, found they charged me $30/night over the quoted rate. Instead of a basic room they booked me in an ocean view room (I didn't ask for this) that was more expensive. Upon checking the confirmation email, it did state ocean view room (even though I asked for a basic room and the lady on the phone quoted me the base room rate). The staff (including the manager) told me I stayed in the room so I had to pay the higher price for the room. Make sure you double check the rate on the confirmation email and that it's what you expect. Besides for the rate issue and the nearly $100/night additional charges from fees/taxes/parking, the hotel was fine. Rooms were clean, breakfast was reasonable, and staff was friendly.
Family time in Waikiki
The Waikiki Beach hotel was fabulous ,we went on a VIP package through Hilton Grand Vacations ,we had a 2 bedroom condo which was very large and had everything you needed from ocean view balcony to washer/ dryer and it was part of the Hawaiian village so plenty of eateries and pools and beaches with all types of activities. Hawaii is a little expensive but we had a great time ,saw shows at the Polynesian cultural center and Pearl Harbor and shopping of course which the mall was in walking distance but we took the trolly for the enjoyment it took us all around Waikiki and then to the mall for $2 .
Have stayed here many times and will continue to be our go to hotel. But this visit fell a little short. They have rearranged the executive lounge. It is now a bottleneck nightmare during breakfast. In the past we could grab a pastry in the morning, eat and go but this time we waited 10 minutes in the line to get a pastry. Plates for the bagels are also in the middle of long line. We are diamond members and were offered an ocean view...for $40 more per nite. There was quiet a bit of long black hair in the tub. Still, a good hotel with good location.
