Excellent facility and staff
Excellent time—priceless. Clean spacious rooms. Staff was excellent! Laura Breakfast Supervisor went above and beyond! Superb personality! Celeste Bar was superb and Bligh Bar Dawn ( Celeste Bar ) personable, hospitality is superb! The guys all are superb as well. Outstanding from Harole and his team. Wyrin rocked it as well—outstanding. They each took care of our family! Front desk—Daniel, Shandy, and Emanuel stellar hotel service❤️ Housekeeping went above and beyond! The service was completely kind and helpful, as this was our first Curacao trip! We plan to return in the near future-a blessing!
OLD, outdated, overpriced hotel
We stayed for one night after a two week trip to Bonaire. This is by far the worse Hilton we have ever stayed at! Rust all over the room from door frames, to bathroom fixtures. Filthy carpets, very old, falling apart bed frames, views of roof of restaurant and all at a very overpriced rate! We had already spent 10 days at the Santa Barbara Beach Resort at the far end of the island where rooms are luxurious and the beach, restaurants and furnishings are superb at rates far below that of this tired old hotel. I would not recommend staying here as there are by far more pleasant and scenic locations to spend your money!
From other reviewers, you can see that this is no longer a Hilton. They are remodeling to eventually become a Dreams resort later this year. Don’t need to say anything more about the rooms... they were passable and we barely spent any time in there. Don’t go here if you’re looking for immaculate rooms with modern decor. The beach is really special. There’s a dock that my son must have jumped off 100 times, the water is crystal clear, the snorkeling is unbelievable (and not crowded like most publicized snorkeling spots), palapas for shade, tropical birds all around (including parrots!), iguanas (including Pablo who loves French fries), a nice pool, full gym, and amazing views of the sunset every night. Drinks are a little expensive but tasty. We ate at the bar a couple times and the food was fine. However, there is an awesome pizza place next door that we visited a couple times.
Currently under new management- average to poor
Lots of positives to staying here and some negatives to keep in mind! Pros: Small private beach Friendly, helpful staff Excellent swimming pool Super fully equipped Dive site on grounds with excellent dive masters. Nice pool Amazing location for sunsets Can swim to the bar beside hotel Rental car on site Casino onsite if that’s your thing Free Shuttle 2x a day to town Rooms are large and clean but old looking A/c works well Tv, coffee and fridge in room Supplies beach towels Well equipped gym on site Tennis courts on site Coffee shop on site Cons: Being made into a Dreams Resort so amidst turn over- maybe they don’t really care anymore?? We weren’t told of the construction nor given any financial compensation for the construction 🔨 would have been nice to know we’d be walking around scaffolding and listening to hammers, drills and sanders. Too Far from town to walk (45 minutes each way in heat) or anywhere else really and taxis are expensive $$$ No airport transfer available. Taxi ride is $30 US on way. Construction noise as early as 8 am Smell of paint was bad on third floor Rooms are tired looking but clean Beds are hard Laundry wire in shower didn’t work All doors close with a loud BANG - waking up sleeping people regularly No food choices for Gluten Free Vegans No food to buy in small shops for vegans (other than apples and bananas) Food staff not really willing to help find food for guests with dietary limits Drinks are pricey! Kid pool is drained and empty and ugly to look at.
It's worth to stay at this hotel because of this amazing sunset. Besides, the location is perfect because you can go to Orobanda and Punda in approximately 20 minutes by car and to northwest beachs by 10 to 30 minutes. Breakfast is good, like the same other hotels in the same category. The restaurant and bar it is ok too.
