    Nice place but.......

Been to most places in the region but first time to Jamaica. We had to fly from Manchester as no flights out of Scotland after July. Bit of a pain but what can you do. Manchester Airport is a battle zone though. Security took forever due to whatever and trying to get food and a drink at a bar was a nightmare.. over an hour in a line. On the flight was ok. Always fly Tui and no exceptions this year. Flight pretty good as always but had an added feature this year. We were told that there may be turbulence and to take our seats and the seatbelt sign came on. This lasted around 40 mins or so without any turbulence at all. During this sit down time the cabin crew were selling the duty free😁😁😁 great way to do it. On arrival at the airport it just looked like a free for all, but seemed to work. God knows how. Headed out to the bus which again there didn’t seem any system in place. No luggage check against names etc, so we were a little concerned that our luggage would get to the hotel. Took around 90 mins to get to the hotel. Would have been quicker but for the stop at a bar half way. Must be the drivers brother😁 Checking in was smooth and easy. Love the disks on the wrist bands for getting in the rooms. Description of where and what was given and pretty clear information. Room was stunning. Huge and very clean. Did have a crack on the window to the balcony which I reported but nothing ever done about it. Facilities were great throughout the hotel. Food was amazing most of the time. Sometimes not warm enough at the buffet. Beach is beautiful and water clear. Lovely to walk along it. There are sellers of trips and “other things” on the beach but if you don’t want they don’t keep giving you grief. Some are a good laugh and we used Mike for trips. A lot cheaper than Tui. Big problem this hotel has are the staff. Some are really helpful others are not and nothing in between. Bar staff in particular fall into this. I don’t tip to be served but tip on service and this is not the way they expect it here it seems. The sports bar in particular was the worst to get served in, even though there were plenty of staff. They also kept putting the lights off and over the pool table also. I asked what was happening, no reply. I even got my phone out with the torch on, as a laugh, but still no reply. Not quite sure what was going on there. Anyway, we all have pro’s and cons on a holiday I guess. This is a nice hotel, good facilities, good food, good drinks, very clean, great entertainment. Ticks all the boxes on those fronts. Just needs to be a little more customer focused and bar staff in particular need to smile more... Would I recommend this place? Yes I would. Would I go back? No I wouldn’t. It is very far away from everything to be honest. Would go further down the island to split the difference a bit. The staff issue also put me off.

Beautiful resort, wonderful people, can't wait to return!

We could not have been happier with this resort. Our experience was wonderful which was made by the staff, beautiful surroundings/ grounds and great tasting food. We visited from September 13- 20, 2019. The resort is well laid out with beautiful grounds and senic views. Every building has a great view of the pool and or beach. The staff here are great and go out of their way to make your experience enjoyable. The food was very good with a wide variety of great tasting dishes. The Hunter Steakhouse was our favourite specialty restaurant, the steak and salmon was excellent. Drinks were flavourful and the bartenders were very accommodating. We stayed in building 2, it overlooked the beach, with a beautiful view. Our room was very nice, clean and large. The balcony was large as well. Mini fridge staocked daily. The beach was very nice, with white sand and calm waters. We walked it many times, past the other resorts in the bay. I would recommend this resort and would return.

    Great relaxing holiday

My wife and I have just returned from the royalton Negril in Jamaica and it’s a beautiful great holiday spa resort, all inclusive, great beach and fantastic selection of restaurant’s to choose from, the water is fantastic and clear where fish swim around you including a ray! Star fish etc, there are 2 pools one great pool for children and 1 large pool plenty of loungers and brollies so no need to panic over the loungers, the staff are fantastic and helpful, premium drinks and the evening shows are great. We went on a glass bottom boat trip which is fantastic it takes you to an island then on to 7 mile beach definitely something you should do great day out. The room is fantastic and clean the beds are very comfortable everything you need to relax Bad points we took Jamaican dollars which tui recommended but your better to take US dollars, you do get hawkers on their boats calling out but ignore them and they go away it does rain nearly every night but it doesn’t impact on the sunshine during the day Definitely a place to visit!!

    Amazing

Amazing hotel. Absolutely loved Jamaica, visited in September. Weather was great, had a few days of rain but it didn’t ruin the holiday, the rooms are lovely. Staff are amazing. Especially Angela and Jodi-Ann who work in the main Buffett restaurant, they were amazing with my son! Lorenzo at the pool bar, was rude, multiple times we ordered 3 drinks, he would only give us 2 of them. Then we would sit and wait whilst he served loads of other people, had to tell him multiple times before he would decide to finally get our other drink. This happened on a few occasions with my partner also. He was the only rude member of staff we came across. Evening entertainment were great, the vibe team are amazing! My son has a milk allergy and they provided soy milk for him. Can not fault our stay. Thankyou
