Lack of availability of food and drink
Shocked at how this resort can carry the royalton brand upon arrival became clear what ever you ask for is either unavailable or they need to get it , menus are limited and then many items unavailable I will not describe my steakhouse mixed grill as it was appalling been to 4 other royalton property and no problems

Short and spicy
The resort's location is good. It's actually in Trelawny and not Montego bay. But the beach is beautiful and it's only 25 minutes outside of Montego Bay. Ate mostly from the jerk hut as the rest of the options were not really jamaican food. My partner and I recommend leaving the property for really good food. We are Caribbean couple do not our first time to Jamaica but first to royalton. Cons: * Rooms are small * Didn't get any if the diamond club * * amenities like bag, or fruit plate * No local music or food being offered on resort Pros: * great location * friendly staff * great gym Shout out to Daniel on the fitness team. His workouts are brutal but good. Shout out to Whitney and Lanacha. Whitney helped my dad with his sciatica and Lanacha yoga classes were good. They also do one on one training. Fitness team deserves a raise.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL !!
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. We stayed at the hotel end of November 2023 for my husbands 65 birthday and renovations were supposed to be finished and they were accepting bookings. We booked Diamond Club It was a complete nightmare. From day 1 of our 10 day stay we had no working phone that lasted 3 days no tv. First day we had water all over the floor as the caulking had not been put around the outer area. Upsin arrival you are suppose to receive a bottle and a basket of fruit and beach bag ( never did receive ) For 3 days we couldn’t get into our room and had to keep getting the maid to let us in even after speaking with the diamond club reception many times. I came up to the room to retrieve something as we were down at the beach and I got locked in the room couldn’t get out remember I am on the 4 th floor and I have no working phone. I had to wait till someone walked by and banged on the door to get help. Finally that evening maintenance came and they tried to repair the door but were able to do so as they said they would have to repair the whole frame and door jam. Back we go back down to the diamond club this time we asked to be moved to another room and that we would like an upgrade due to all of the issues. We ended up with the same room just on the other side. We soon learned the air conditioning was not working and still no tv. We went down to front reception this time and asked to speak to the manger only to be told “ that’s a bit of a process “. We had made friends with some of the workers and they knew of the problems we had. One of them said the manger just went down to the buffet so I hightailed it down there to speak with him. Explained our issues we were having and he said could I meet with you both in the room in 1 hour. We were offered a voucher for a free 5 days stay due to everything that happened. This was signed in front of us by the manager ( Carlos Estrada) and the assistant manager Fast forward to September 17 this year ( voucher was good till November 30 2024) Tried booking with our travel agent as she was well aware of us receiving this voucher. We had decided to wait so they could iron out all the issues they were having ( from closed restaurants to renovations still ongoing etc ) Our agent contacted the hotel to first see if the room was available and they kept making excuses saying there should have been another paper with the voucher ( no we were just given the voucher ) then they tried to say it must be forged ( excuse me what ??) Needless to say with many attempts with emails phone calls etc no one has answered back. I strongly recommend not going to this resort we are well travelled and have been to many many resorts in the Caribbean never ever had so many issues as with the Hideway at Blue Waters

The good and the bad, an honest review.
We are a couple in our 60s. This was our first visit to Jamaica. We stayed in the adults only hideaway hotel. We paid extra for the diamond club. More about the diamond club later. Due to chaos at the airport, we missed our transfer coach. When we finally arrived, we were the only ones to check in. The diamond club has its own check-in, so there were no problems with check-in. We were shown to our room by one of the two butlers who were to look after us during our stay. Once in our room, the butler pointed out that their were no bath robes or slippers. We also didn't receive the bottle of sparkling wine to be opened by the butler in your room on arrival along with another bottle of wine and a fruit platter. The room: Not has expected, but maybe we didn't read the small print on that one. The bathroom was small, but the shower was large. The water in the shower fluctuated a lot between hot and cold. The bedroom was nice with a large comfortable bed. The views from the sofa and balcony were excellent. The one moan about the room is actually the balcony. The outside light stayed on all night there wasnt a switch to turn it off. The diamond club rooms are on the top floor which give wonderful views of both the pools and the sea. The resort: A very attractive lay out one of the loveliest hotels we have stayed in. Two lovely pools, the liveliest has a swim up bar and entertainment. Please note that the quiet pool is next to the lively pool, so it's not really quiet. The pool with the swim up bar is an infinity pool and is next to the beach. The beach is a picture postcard setting of white sand, turquoise water backed with palm trees. Restaurants: a wide choice of restaurants and cusines. The standard all-inclusive buffet restaurant, which overall we found very good. We preferred to sit outside because the lighting inside was very bright. We tried all the restaurants except for the culinary experience ( extra charge) and the food in the sports bar. The restaurants have to be booked using the app, which in theory is a good idea, but unfortunately, the app didn't work very well. Even though we were part of the diamond club, which as a priority on restaurants, we had a lot of trouble . The Dorado restaurant was wonderful, more like a fine dining restaurant. We visited this restaurant twice on both occasions the service was excellent. The individual restaurants do not open every night as advertised on the tv in the room. We visited the steakhouse twice the first time ok service but good food. The second time, very bad service, a very rude waiter. On the second visit, the restaurant was full the only time we saw any of the restaurants full, probably because we went in low season. I think the waiter was stressed, which led to poor service. Overall, the servers in the restaurants were good, with the odd exception. One thing we disliked about the restaurants was it took less than an hour to eat the three courses, no time to relax in between each course. At the Tex-Mex restaurant, we were asked what we wanted for dessert while we were eating our mains, and at the Raj restaurant, we had to order all three courses at the start. I can understand it in peak season, but the restaurants were only half full while we were there. Entertainment: Overall, it was probably the best entertainment we have seen in an all-inclusive hotel. The aquatic show was excellent. The diamond club: Oh dear, we're to begin. This was the first time we paid for a diamond club upgrade and also the last. Sparkling wine on arrival x Bottle of wine and fruit platter x Robes, slippers, and complimentary beachbag x Nightly turn down service x only the first three nights Mini bar restocked daily x first two days only Preferential restaurant booking x The 20% discount at the spa is only on certain things Exclusive pool area x Plus points : The diamond club was excellent (apart from check out) The designated beach area and waiters were all very good. We did have a meeting with one of our butlers to complain. We got the robes and slippers, a week later a bottle of sparkling wine and two bottles of red. We did try ordering the wine and water on the app, but after three attempts and not receiving any and several messages to our butlers, our butler did, eventually get them. Check- out : This is a big one. Please take note. On arrival, the hotel expects everyone to leave a 200 usd deposit via your credit card. We do not use a credit card. We have a debit visa card. Because we didn't have a credit card, every extra that needed paying for spa, etc, had to be paid for immediately and not at the end of the stay. We had a couples message on one receipt, and I had a manicure and pedicure on another, which we paid for in the diamond club reception. We took the receipts back to the spa once it was confirmed that we had paid for the treatments we received the spa treatments. On leaving, we went down to the diamond club to check out 40 minutes early with the intention of saying goodbye to several people. It was fortunate that we were early because the receptionist told us that we had an outstanding payment for a manicure that had to be paid before leaving the hotel. We explained that due to not having a credit card, we had to pay for the treatments in advance, but the receptionist didn't believe us. I even showed her my online banking to prove to her, but she still wasn't happy. I must say she was also dealing with another customer complaining about the diamond club at the same time. This was one of many throughout our stay. The transfer coach arrived, and we were told we wouldn't be allowed on the coach without the payment. Our butler said we needed to go. The receptionist said that we weren't allowed to leave the hotel. At the last minute, the receptionist received a call confirming our payment and that they had made a mistake. I'm not even sure if she apologised. We were in such a rush to get on the coach before we were left behind. A very stressful, embassing, and upsetting end to our holiday. We would have given this hotel 4*, but the diamond club brought it down to a three. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel but definitely not 5* The lack of service from the diamond club did not spoil the holiday it was just a little extra for our belated anniversary, but we did pay extra for services and goods that we didn't receive . A zero for the diamond club Ps My husband wants me to point out that the advertised table tennis table had been smashed and hadn't been replaced, a definite no-no for a table tennis player. If he had written the review, you might have lost another star from the review 🙃

Great Time
Dexter, Kamal (Butlers) & Tamika (Pool Side Waitress) really made our stay the best. They were very hands on & very informational. They kept smiles on their faces & brought positive energy. Shaquille (Pool Bartender) served us with good drinks & smiles!! He was very cool & made sure we had a great time everytime we was around him.
