Everything is fabulous!!! Every staff member is cordial, attentive and professional! The adults-only pool is a gem!!! Rooms are elegant and the restaurants are top-notch! And this hotel is a VERY SHORT walk to all the shops on Front Street!
Wonderful and exhilarating experience
Great place to get pampered and enjoy the incredible art collection throughout the property. Location is an oasis from downtown Hamilton but an ease stroll to the center of it all. Recommended for someone looking for an upscale experience!
A great place for a carefree vacation
Stayed here for the first time for 6 years-wow-what an improvement. However it is important to book in Fairmont Gold to enjoy all the amenities. The gold lounge staff are very good -overseen by Benjamin. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone has a smile. The new marina is beautiful and the new beach club brilliant-a fantastic location and better than the previous one at the Southampton Princess. Points worth noting: Easy to use shower Easy to use safe Ability to request time the Room is cleaned and if turndown service required. Tea making facilities Comfortable king bed We will definitely return.
Hotel past it’s prime but service is excellent.
A mixed review of the ‘Pink Palace’. The sprawling complex has issues, especially the Bermudiana accommodation area. Walk down the blue picture-less corridor and you’ll note that each room door looks like it’s been kicked in. The walls are badly marked with deep scrapes and looks like a scene from one of Her Majesty’s Prisons. The De-Luxe rooms are very tight and on check-in ours was grubby and dusty. Black mould adorned the shower area and the grouting had disintegrated causing our bathroom to become a wet room when showering. Storage is limited. Saying that, housekeeping did their best. Turn down service was good, the fridge was topped up with bottles of water and the coffee machine worked. Any complaints were dealt with quickly. The day started with breakfast - queuing for up to 30mins was the norm. Service once you got a table was very good however. The Marcus restaurant also had its issues - we were kept waiting, once seated, for service for 30mins on our first visit. The food was excellent. At 1609 the food and service were both of a high standard with friendly efficient staff. Pricing however is ridiculous in all restaurants and isn’t justified. These are not Michelin starred establishments. We spent a week here on our honeymoon via a British Airways arrangement on a half board basis. This led to confusion on check out because American Hotels do a ‘American Meal Plan’ and don’t know how to interpret ‘Half Board’. We received 5 x invoices on check out, all different. ‘Half Board’ could mean you could a) receive a financial limit on what you eat or b) don’t eat anything with an asterisk marked against the menu or you’ll foot the additional cost. The reception staff were perplexed as to what ‘Half Board’ actually means, so check your bill thoroughly and stand your ground when presenting your Hotel Voucher. We scaled back our additional costs from $700 to $200 when we argued our point. The $200 covered our drinks. BA and Fairmont need to resolve this and reception staff need to be briefed properly. The best part of this hotel was the bbq on the private beach - ironically away from the hotel. Excellent food (better than the restaurants) with pumpkin curry and bbq suckling pig and wahoo fish. We were spoilt for choice. Plus excellent faultless attentive service. Big shout out to Peter, Aldo, and Deen who deserve a pay rise ! The ‘Pink Palace’ as a building has its faults. It’s Staff couldn’t be better.
I just returned from a 3 night stay at this beautiful resort. Danny at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Marilyn at 1609 was top notch. The food was amazing. However, we had dinner at Marcus which was very disappointing. We ordered a tomahawk steak. When it arrived it looked delicious. It was cold. We did not want to send it back and draw any attention to us. We ended up giving it away to the couple sitting next to us.Our server Jonny was very attentive but we didn't want to return the food to be "fixed". The next morning we went down to Crown and Anchor for breakfast. We said we would like to have the continental breakfast so they seated us and said go over to the buffet and take your food. We went over and took food from where we saw other people taking food from. When the waiter came over he said we noticed you ate from the hot food so we charged you for the hot buffet. Never once did someone say that we were only supposed to stay on a certain side. He could have approached us and say something before we ate the food. There should be signs or set up the food differently. Overall this was a great resort but our dining experience at the two restaurants was disappointing. Lindsay L.
