26th anniversary destination
My husband and I had a fantastic time! The campus was beautiful; the service was wonderful; and the food was fantastic. The staff was so nice. Duane, the bartender, is fantastic! The concierges were so helpful. When you go, you must experience the Natura Spa.
My husband and I had the couples massage inside the cave last week, and it was the most wonderful massage I have ever had. We both loved it tremendously, from the moment you arrive at Grotto Bay and walk to the outside seating area where you wait for the staff to bring you into the cave, you know you have arrived exactly where you wanted to be.
wonderful resort with private grotto
The location was great; close to the airport, The Swizzle Inn, Crystal and Fantasy caves. Bus stop right outside to take you anywhere on the island. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable with a large bathroom. Swimming in the grotto was an interesting experience and a plus to have on the grounds. Since the hotel beach is in a lagoon, the water is very calm and good for swimming. The pool is heated and open 24 hours. The staff was super helpful and very kind. The hotel restaurant had great food. There was tea time everyday at 4pm and there were various evening events such as bingo. It was nice to sit out on the patio at night and stargaze. We were there during the off season so it was quiet and calm.
My wife and I just returned from this resort where we had booked an ALL INCLUSIVE stay...which turned out to be NOT A
Room was good, spa was great BUT the management was NOT SO GOOD. Although we booked an ALL INCLUSIVE which we always do with other resorts in the Caribbean...this one was one one disappointing surprise after another. Our first meal at the resort was a Sunday "brunch" which when done, the server presented us with a bill for $124.37. After speaking with the manager on duty, he committed to "look into the matter" and said he would get back with us...which never happened. Upon check out, I asked to see him again but he was not professional enough to even talk with us... Not a good choice on his part as we have already talked with 3 of our couple friends who were considering the Grotto Bay and no will NOT!
Its a six star !!
Just back from second year running at this resort . Its a six star !! Staff are fantastic ! Always happy and smilng and nothing is ever too much trouble. Rooms are kept clean. Food is excellent and plentiful with lovely waiting staff to serve you !!. Beautiful location too. however there is only one thing that does need to be addressed and that is the "Dive Bermuda" dive centre. This is not owned by the hotel , but is still part of the resort. this year the centre owners decided not to open until 1st June !! Due to lack of numbers in May 2018 !! That is rubbish as the boat was pretty full when I was there last year. So for my diving i had to travel 35 min each way by taxi to their sister centre at Fairmont resort which is in the south of the island !! And many thanks to my star taxi driver Jimmy for taking me to Fairmont for three early mornings. The company did pay my taxi fares both ways, but i should have been able to finish my dives , and relax and continue my holiday. Not spend time in a taxi , or waiting for one in the Car park at fairmont. !!! I think Mr Martin the manager and his team need to address this issue for next year as i did hear many people asking why ! It has always been opened in May, the weather was good and no doubt many people lost the chance to give diving a try or like me as a veteran diver, do some dives direct from resort. I could well be back next year
