Cannot recommend enough! Excellent service, amazing resort, incredible wedding venue

We chose Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit as our wedding venue and brought 40 of our closest friends and family members to the resort. Having visited the resort before the wedding, we knew to expect top-tier service, but we never could have anticipated the extent to which they would exceed our expectations. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the rooms (many people said "this room is bigger than my apartment!") and how the staff went above and beyond to ensure their comfort. Whether at the wedding or just hanging by the pool, the staff made sure their drinks were always full and water was on-hand. Hernan's craft cocktails by the pool were a definite crowd pleaser, too. During days of heat/humidity, the staff brought around cold towels and spray bottles of Evian to keep the party going. The restaurants are incredible and accommodated groups with grace. Often times we ordered one of every appetizer and dessert for the group to share, and the waiters took care of it without sweating. The groups never had to wait extended periods for food, and everyone left feeling so full and satisfied. The chef could also accommodate any dietary requests or restrictions...and the bartenders could make any drink! The pampering continued throughout our 9-night stay/mini-moon. Se Spa is hands-down the best spa I've ever been to (and several of our guests said the same thing). The ritual of pools before the treatment was unique. The service was personalized and incredibly memorable (thanks, Carmen and Luz!). By the pool, Leonel made sure we were constantly pampered and made us feel like family. He even taught us some Spanish! Our concierge, Alejandra, was available 24/7 to answer any questions or requests we had and always made sure we had a bottle of sparkling wine handy! For anyone looking at wedding venues, I HIGHLY recommend Velas weddings. Our coordinator, Jazmin, made the process so easy and enjoyable. I'd send her emails with crazy ideas and she always found a way to bring them to life... and often recommended smarter ways to make it happen. It was so helpful to have an expert and professional on our team, managing local vendors so we didn't need to worry. Betty helped us manage the schedule on the day of the event and we were so thankful to have her and Jazmin helping us with final details. The final product was beyond our wildest dreams and full of pleasant surprises! The set up was absolutely magical, and we even had some unexpected fireworks during our first dance! The team at Velas resorts is the best-- they know how to throw an incredible wedding and can accommodate any style.

Working, exhausted moms wanting a break from cooking, cleaning? THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU

We just returned from 5 days at Gran Velas Riviera Nayarit. It was our fifth trip as a couple, and we have brought our son the last four times. Our friends joined us. This place is absolute magic - food for my soul. While the setting is amazing, and the resort is beautiful, it is the people that work there that take this place to the next level. We adore Nadia B - who has become almost like family. We first met her as our pool concierge three years ago and we seek her out when we are there and try to sit in her section. She pampers us parents and our kids in a way you can't imagine - every possible thing she can do to help us make our vacation perfect, she does. Jose and Gerardo and Santarino also assisted us on this most recent trip and they too are superb. Examples include: even though it's all inclusive, they bring down extra treats for our children to keep them happy and fueled for the day, they bring us gatorades to stay hydrated by the pool, find the kids fabulous toys to play with in the water - literally NO need goes unmet. As if all this was not enough, when we checked in to our room, I had booked the one bedroom suite. They upgraded us for free to the Governor's suite -four - FOUR balconies and a hot tub on our patio. Top off each day with food you can't even imagine. It's incredible. Piaf makes these croissant rolls with blue cheese in them that make the flight to PV worth it on it's own. I could make a meal out of them. Our husbands ate until they were so full they could barely move. The restaraunts are SO FREAKING GOOD. They are four diamond zagat rated restaraunts that are part of the all inclusive experience. I treat my myself and have the laundry done while we are there - it's fantastic to come home without having to do a bunch of laundry. The spa - MOMS YOU HAVE TO GO. Usually when you check in there is a $50 resort credit daily that you can use at the spa. There is a reason that the spa at Gran Velas is rated the way it is. The massages are more like a beautiful ritual. The masseuses are incredibly talented. It's beyond compare, seriously. GO. I don't write this with an emphasis on the moms to discriminiate or insult other parents. But this is the trip I look forward to every year because I can unplug, have some delish pool-side beverages that magically re-appear by the pool staff that seem to understand the exhaustion and need to recharge that I have by the time I arrive there. The children's center is also included - you can drop your kids off and go to a nice dinner - they will take the kids to Azul or have pizza or something there. Normally there are more wonderful and kind women working in the child's center than there are kids in the place. They get incredibly focused and kind attention there, so don't worry about leaving them there. (We did check out the teen's club this time, even though our kids are too young for it and now I know why we never see teens at the pool. It's a young teenager fantasy of video game nooks, table games and other cool stuff.) I realize the resort is more expensive than many others in PV. This place is worth it - absolutely worth it. Go, rest, sleep, eat, have some margaritas, swim in the ocean, get a massage and recharge your batteries. There is no other place quite like it and it's worth the trip. The employees there are long-term employees - and it shows. They must take very good care of their staff because they have been the same people we see each and every year - which I also value. As far as the question of tipping - do it. Do it generously at the end of each day to your pool / beach concierge and at the restaraunts and with the housekeeper and your concierge. Do some research on that part of your vacation if you go to any all-inclusive. The national DAILY - not hourly - DAILY wage in Mexico is around $5.00 US dollars. Which is thirty cents more than a venti latte. The work ethic and kindness shown to my family deserved to be acknowleded and hopefully if you visit the resort, you too will feel the same. The place is incredible and the people who work there make it that way. Happy Travels!!!

    Loved it!!!

After spending a week in the Grand Velas, I cannot express how amazing it was. Every worker goes out of their way to help you in any and every possible way they can. The staff truly make you feel as if you are royalty, especially concierge ANDREA!!! If it wasn’t for her, I don’t think my significant other and I would have such a blast. She was there at any second of the day or night and always provided everything we did. I cannot wait till him & I get the opportunity to visit again and hopefully see Andrea again! :)
