Above and Beyond Service
Our Grand Palladium Vallarta Resort Spa review. My wife, I and friends spent 10 days at the Grand Palladium in June. On the second day of our vacation my wife broke her foot. So the next 10 days she spent in a wheelchair and boot splint. The resorts costumer service is five stars they went beyond to make sure that ours needs we're taking care of. We would like to thank Eddie for all his help from the first day with our bags to the times he help push the wheelchair to get my wife to the buffet and back to our room. Omar in customer relations was great. He help make arrangements to get us the medical care we needed and also got us a wheelchair to use during our stay. He also made special arrangements to get us to and from the specialty restaurants. This place has a great room service. We did not need to go out to eat when we did not feel like it. Thanks to security in helping getting us around the pool area and to the spa personal that call security to get the wheelchair to get us to the lobby. We will go back and do a redo-vacation.
Relaxing stay at Grand Palladium
Overall the the Grand Palladium was a fantastic resort. It is located on a beautiful beach away from the hustle and bustle of the city, there are areas for adults sit back and enjoy peace and quiet, they cater to food allergies and the food is quite tasty, and the staff was very friendly. It met my needs for a relaxing vacation to read, spend time with friends, swim, enjoy the activities offered by the resort and soak up the sunshine. I would like to also take the time to mention they special allergy cards they provide at check in to guests with dietary requirements. I am celiac and it is always a concern travelling if I am going to be able to find something to eat or if I will get sick, but they were very accommodating at this resort. I was advised to make reservations for dinner at the a la carte restaurants so they could 'prepare for my arrival', and I did this with Julian Duenas at the concierge. It only took a day for him to remember me and my friends, and he definitely would go the extra mile! Another person who really stood out was Darcy at the buffet. The second I would walk into the restaurant he would ask me what I would like to eat and have the chef make something special for me whether it was pasta or pizza for lunch or pancakes for breakfast. It really made the vacation enjoyable. I would recommend if you have an allergy to make a connection like this because some staff, like Darcy and Julian, were more receptive that others. My friends and I spent a majority of our time at the adult pool. It has a beautiful view, was quite and Omar was always kindly checking on us and offering us drinks which was lovely. Another great place to get drinks in the Hemingway bar, and one of the bartenders, Ismail was a gem! He is quite a mixologist if you get him to make you one of his creations! The only drawbacks of the resort were that not all of the a la carte restaurants were inside which doesn't make for the most pleasant eating experience. Also, there wasn't any kind of dresser in the room for clothes storage - it would have been nice to be able to unpack our bags. Maybe a more deluxe room has this, I'm not sure. In terms of pools, the main pool gets very noisy - and be prepared to get splashed (hence why we stayed at the adult pool). The ocean is also quite rocky, I actually fell getting out of the water and cut my ankle on the rocks, so maybe bring water shoes if you want to spend a lot of time in the ocean. All in all I would return! It was a memorable trip! Thanks Grand Palladium!
Great experience overall
it is an amazing outdoor feeling staying here. love the service and the food. the only thing we did not like was the wifi inside our room did not really work in that area. The food was great and another thing was the bathroom was kind of outdated when it came to the ceilings.
Beautiful resort , 4th time staying there and always excited to go back. Great location , food is excellent, service is top notch! It is about a 40 minute drive there but well worth it, going in and out of the resort is easy and you can even take public bus into town.
Great hotel, superb staff
Stayed July/August for 14 nights. Ok, checking in was a little chaotic. Reception wasn’t really big enough to cope, but admittedly Thursday is a very busy day at GPV for guest arrivals and departures. Reception staff and bell boys were amazing though throughout a very busy time. It was also very hot inside reception, maybe a couple of fans would have been a good addition. Rooms were ready a little late, but we went for a spot of lunch at El Bosque so all was well. Bags were already at our room when we got our keys. This is probably the only (slightly) negative aspect of our fortnight stay !! Room was spacious, massive double bed in our room, and two reasonably sized singles in the other room. Spotlessly clean, and cleaned every day by the wonderful Mariana. Good a/c. Well stocked mini bar was a welcome addition (this was restocked daily). Nice sized bathroom. Shower had a consistent temperature most of the time also - showers in these type of hotels blow literally hot and cold in my experience, but this one was excellent. We were on the ground floor - patio had enough room for two chairs and a small table onto a well manicured garden with pool and sea views. Location: approx 50-60 mins by taxi from Puerto Vallarta downtown. The price of this journey is 550 - 600 pesos (£24 - £26) which is quite reasonable for a one hour taxi. Didn’t try the local bus. If guests wish to venture out a bit, they should budget for taxis. There are always taxis available - just ask the bellboy at reception, and remember to agree the price with the driver before setting off. The hotel itself is set on the beach. Be aware that you will walk quite a bit and there are some steps (as per other reviews ) - this didn’t bother us though. Amenities: Main pool - busy at times, very clean and well looked after. Getting sunloungers in the pool area wasn’t a problem as I tend to be an early riser on holiday, but I can understand frustration at times with some inconsiderate folk putting the towels down early and not using the beds ( prob the same at every other hotel, not the hotel managements fault. ) We did see some security towards the end of our stay who were policing the sunbed situation and did see some towels removed 😄. Entertainment round and in the pool was pretty much standard fare ( aquagym, water polo, yoga etc. ) but the entertainment staff were never pushy, always polite, and really really nice people. Bar staff around the pool were brilliant ( more of that later ). The live music early afternoon by all of the musicians was superb also. Infinity adults only pool very nice, set on a cliff top overlooking the beach and ocean. Excellent bar here too. Restaurants: El Bosque ( buffet ) breakfast lunch and dinner. Sometimes had to queue (no more than 5 mins even at the busiest breakfast time ) - absolutely spoiled for choice for any meal of the day. Food quality excellent. The ladies who booked you into El Bosque did a marvellous job here, always polite, made sure you used hand sanitiser ( great touch this ! ) I am really sorry I can’t remember your names, I’d really like to give a special mention to you all. The servers in El Bosque were all wonderful too Bamboo oriental. Excellent choice, sushi really good. Service great Portofino Italian - probably the busiest of the show restaurants. Really nice food here too. Service great again. El dorado steak house. Steaks are wonderful, rather large, cooked to order. Service excellent. The only downside was that it could get very hot in here as it was in the open so no a/c which is understandable. Could get busy in here also, but GPV pulled it out of the bag again by setting up a mini bar outside the restaurant whilst you waited to be taken to your table! Adelito mexican restaurant: bit of a trek to get here as it is by the infinity pool. Really authentic setting and authentic Mexican menu (not what you get at Chiquitos !! ) The freshly made guacamole at your table was a superb start to the meal. Service once again excellent. Beach very clean, Pacific Ocean 29degC, waves good enough to surf on most days. Very very good. Great bar here also. Nightly shows were good, the after show discos, mariachis, dancing were a hoot. Shows on a weekly timetable so if you are there two weeks you know what to expect in the second week.. There are two aspects of this hotel which really stand out. 1. The cleanliness of the whole hotel. Probably the best that I have ever experienced in six holidays in Mexico. Considering the location, the amount of trees and gardens, big turnover of guests, wild animals ( iguanas, skunks, armadillos etc ) the standard of cleanliness was second to none. All the cleaning staff at GPV should be congratulated. The service. Absolutely amazing service by every employee that we encountered in this hotel from the managers to cleaning staff, waiters, bar staff, bellboys, reception, maids, pool staff, entertainment staff, everybody. Without fail, we were always greeted with an Hola! or a Buenos Dias / Tardes / Noches by everybody. Employees who made such a difference include ( sorry if I miss any body ): - Antonio ( enjoy, buddy !) and Jesus at the pool bar. My drinks were always ready before I’d even ordered them! How they keep up the pace all day is amazing. Antonio and the lovely Elizabeth who brought drinks to us around the pool. The other pool waiters were also excellent. Roxana at La Placita bar. She is an absolute machine making perfect drink after drink even at the busiest times. Francisco the waiter, what a guy! Always greeted with a handshake. Ismael and Oscar at Hemingway’s cocktail bar. Top class drinks here, superb service and known to put a bit of theatre into cocktail making. Our maid, Mariana, who made our room pristine every day. And, the very wonderful Maria, who served us on an evening at El Bosque. .....and countless others. The staff made our holiday wonderful. They are an absolute credit to you all. Thank you to all at the Grand Palladium Vallarta.
