We came here for a wedding and had a wonderful time. Staff is very friendly especially Julian. We enjoyed all the perks that came with the resort. The food at all the resturants was very good! Would recomend this resort
Great two weeks
Had a really lovely holiday, our room had a very comfy huge bed ,always clean and bar stocked daily .villa block 3. The staff allocated here worked very hard during the downpours which was mainly evenings and we had no trouble getting room service during down pours . We checked out the hotel and area before hand and were prepared for the weather and expected to suffer the humidity and rain during this period so it's not the hotels fault for those moaning about the heat .. We found the slight levels no problem there are slopes if you don't want steps and you receive a map so you can check out best routes . Adult pool was very relaxing with a great pool bar and staff and we alternated between here and the beach. Must say a big thanks to all the ground staff / beach cleaners who worked endlessly clearing up the floods and mess left from a tropical storm as they never get a mention . . We never came a cross any un-freindly or unhelpful staff. I used the spa 3 times for treatments and can highly recommend a massage. Yes, 2 restaurants were closed by alternating the days occasionally and the sports bar was being renovated ready for the high season but it wasn't an issue. This resort is secluded so you do need to factor in this when choosing a resort in the bay area .Plenty to do daily if you plan out your stay, from beach /pool activities to an a coffee / quiet drinking bar with table top games with AC, . .If you want a resort where you can walk out into a town or village this won't be for you as its a 30 Min drive out of town .. We went on 3 fantastic trips which you can book at the resort but due to a regulation for the whole bay area, tours cannot pick up at any hotel so you do need to factor in taxi fares in your spending budget if you plan to explore to get to a pick up site. I gave a 4 only because l wasn't able to experience all on offer and found the shop very expensive considering you had no alternative .My only annoyance was the position of the market stalls most nights when walking to dinner I got fed up of saying no thank you . I would prefer them in an area in the centre where you can look at your leisure because yas they had lovely items but pricy, prepare to haggle .We will return and thank you everyone for making our holiday so enjoyable .
7 days at the Grand Palladium in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
The rooms are nice and well kept. The El Dorado restaurant was closed so its traffic was re-directed to the neighbouring Portofino restaurant where the air conditioner was almost non-existent. Even the staff looked sweaty and frazzled but I don't blame them at all. The Adelita was really nice although kind of hidden. Bamboo wasn't very impressive as they are not sushi experts there. The El Bosque is where we ate most of our meals. At breakfast, tip the omelette ladies $1 USD (20 pesos) for every omelette she makes your family and they will look after you. Overall though, I think the food needs to be served a little hotter and faster. Most of our meals were luke-warm. Tip the room lady $1 USD daily if light work or $2 if you need extra things (like more toilet paper or shampoo for example). Also, get to know your waiters and tip them at every opportunity; $2 if average service, $5 if exceptional service and they will go out of their way to accommodate you. Sort of keep an eye on your towels as we had a total of 8 towels (for 8 people) and two of them were snatched so we had to report it and got them replaced, but there is the risk you will be charged for missing towels at checkout. The beach was not very impressive so we spent the majority of time at the pool. A little upset however that we were not allowed at the "quiet pool - adultos" as apparently it is for their "Palladium Club" members which I think is like timeshare or something like that. Don't bother with the arching exercise. They have a little round board that looks like it could use an upgrade and it's only for an hour early in the morning anyways. They also have an Xbox area for the kids but we didn't use it as the kids already had too much "screen time" ahead of the trip.
A great 2 week vacation
This hotel is a great place to spend 2 weeks. Yes, it has no lift, and there are a few steps to get about, as is written in the hotel information before you book. The food I think is very good, a little better than the Riviera Maya Palladium, but less options. The Mexican restaurant was the best meal, but the General buffet was very consistent, and the ice cream :). The Whole staff were really good, polite, and the cleaners did an excellent job at all hours coping with the weather. Special mention to Hortencia for her Omelette’s, Eder and his team at the beach, keeping everyone safe as the currents and surf are stronger than most would be used to. There is a great see pool in the ocean, perfect for children. Lots to do here, and Nuevo Vallarta (Vallarta Adventures) is a 320 peso taxi ride away(No Tour busses at this time, the Taxi company seems to rule here) The shows were ok, well presented, (need some new Audio equipment !) Overall an excellent Holiday and I would come back again, no hesitation.
Our 3rd visit and our 4th visit booked :)
Another AMAZING holiday. Just returned from our 3rd visit and have just booked our 4th, we usually go in September but we are going in March next year to hopefully see whales in the bay, As always the staff are amazing, work so hard, are so friendly and very polite. Areas are forever getting swept, tidied and cleaned, so apart from wear and tear it is a spotless hotel. Sadly the beach bar was closed whilst we were there as it was being refitted, it has reopened now, so hopefully next March we shall enjoy a cocktail or two there. Please please please reinstate the Cocktail Menus to all bars, it enhances peoples experience, working your way through a menu during your stay is a laugh Check in was quite busy, but Thursday is a busy day for check ins , we soon got sorted though and off to our room, our luggage followed shortly after and then a gift of sparkling wine and fruit, it was about 5.30 pm by then and after the long flight from the UK it was the adult pool and bar we needed the most, it was wonderful to finally start to wind down. Some of the 'bad' reviews on here, take with a pinch of salt, they either love moaning or just had a minor issue and make mountains out of molehills, you know the type I'm talking about. We did have a couple of minor issues on our recent visit though, although the previous two visits were 100%, we mentioned the issues we had to Guest Services and Omar went above and beyond to help us, and we were so very happy with the outcome, so if you do have an issue mention it whilst you are there and they will sort it out for you, they just want you to go home happy and think 'what an amazing holiday', if you leave it until you get home there's nothing they can do to help you. We found El Dorado outstanding this year, Fransisco and the rest of the staff were amazing, we are so sorry that we can't remember names, I must take a notebook and pen with me next year to write names down lol On our 2nd week we were upgraded to Family Selection, oh wow it was amazing and so quiet and relaxing, the concierge do a wonderful job. The restaurant, The Nest is fantastic for all your meals if you wish, you can eat in the other restaurants too, the choice is yours, all the staff in The Nest were 100%, hope the same staff are still there next year, it also has sea views which is an added bonus. In 3 words 'We love it' I have posted reviews for this hotel before, all 5* of course We shall see you all again in 165 days
