Don’t Come Here! The Worst Ever Experience!!
Think of everything and anything that could wrong. That was our experience. This place is no longer a 4.5 Star Resort! I question if it ever was! If the service here is good enough for people, I suggest those people get out more and expect better! This was not what we paid for or what we were led to expect!!
Looks are deceiving
Very spotty service, and quite often it was quite poor. Wait times can be really long for checking in, ordering food, accessing restaurants, getting assistance, or getting drinks. Included amenities such as kayaks and surfboards are at the discretion of very unhelpful and unfriendly staff members. Their alcoholic drinks do not actually contains alcohol, they use some strange substitute.
Resort was nice. service was good. Food quality was bad. And restaurants are only open for dinner. not much choice for lunch. stayed for 5 days and had to eat at the same 2 restaurants over and over. in fact, we had to leave the resort 1 day to eat food from outside. Defeats the entire purpose of all inclusive. Also, room bathroom were bad. Water used to spill onto floor during each shower.
great for surfing- hotel ok
Hotel location was great for surfing and had a great beach club with lots of boards. If not going for surfing I would choose another hotel. Hotel was clean. A few minor issues with room. The hotel and food is ok. Pool ok.
Overall a great trip but much room for improvement
We overall had a great trip to this resort but there are lots of improvements that could be made. We upgraded to the Family Selection side of the resort and got a great deal when we arrived compared to what our friends paid when booking this part from the outset of the trip. ROOMS For something that calls itself Family Selection I think these rooms could have been a bit more family friendly. The options are for a pull out sofa bed plus a king sized bed or two double beds. There is absolutely no storage for clothing - yes there is a closet but with a dozen hangers and three tiny drawers on the side of the desk, for 4 people for a week that isn't enough. So we lived out of suitcases which was not great and didn't make things easier for a family. And of course there is only one suitcase stand. so other suitcases were on the floor. FOOD Food was mediocre, nothing really wowed me. We ate at all the ala carte restaurants, portions were small but you can order as much as you want. We went with a group and they were never able to accommodate the 10 of us being able to sit together. So it was always a nightmare trying to seat everyone properly. We would even go right at opening to ensure we had a spot and even with the reservations we were allowed to make through the Family Selection option this was painful. They never brought enough menus like 2 for the table of 10. We were allowed to make reservations which was handy and we did pay a premium for that option but once they booked us into a restaurant that was closed and when we went to confirm morning of they told us it was closed that night. (1 of the 4 a la carte restaurants is closed nightly). There was lots of variety at the buffet and it was presented nicely but wasn't thrilled by the selections. And if you got to the buffet for dinner too early the pasta bar and pizza oven weren't going which seems ridiculous if you open at 6 everything should be open at 6. Overall this place could be a lot better organized. On TV screens on the resort it would promote, shows or activities that were going on during the day but when we would show up there would be no one there offering what we were told was going on. The evening shows were great - the entertainment dancers were amazing - the Rock Show was great. The Tenor show was great. Wish we could have seen all of them, but kids needed to go to sleep. It would have been nice to have an itinerary of what was happening during the day to see somewhere, again maybe they don't want to write it down then it needs to happen. Kids Club We specifically went to this resort because of the baby club. We were told it was open until 8, but they told me I needed to get my kid by 640, which doesn't give you any time to hit an a la carte for dinner and pick up your kid by then. my 6 year old loved the kids club and wanted to go back every day. Staff was very friendly and everyone you met greeted you warmly. Family selection pool had a broken heater for 5 of the 7 days we were there, so it was quite chilly but we did love it there as it was quiet and there was always chairs to be found. The service at this pool was exceptional, always coming around taking food and drink orders. Food selection was limited but it was good. Elizabeth and Marcario were fantastic wait staff. The family selection lounge had a great little set up of XBox and the kids went crazy for it. There seems to have been lots of amenities to guests for the Family Selection but no one could give straight answers on what those things were and when. Services got sloppy through the week - at first really wowed by housekeeping staff and then it kind of dwindled. LOVED the family selection wrist bands that had the keys embedded in them. So nice to have your room key with you at all times. Also, it is a very hilly resort. Lots of stairs and inclines which i think is typical of the area, just was not prepared for it. There are strollers to use for people with small children, that would have been nice to know prior to going.
