    Highly recommend this resort

This is the second Grand Palladium Hotel we have stayed at. Although both stays were great, the Costa Mujeres location is my favorite so far. The hotel grounds are large and beautifully modern. There is potential for a lot of walking, which we enjoy, however the hotel does have carts that will pick you up. We did not have any problems hopping on the few times we decided to opt for a lift. We spent most of our stay at the pool which was large and although it got busy it never seemed over crowded. The entertainment staff made our stay so much fun! Norberto, Paola, and Dante are amazing at their jobs and always had us laughing & joining in the fun. THANK YOU!Luis and Douglas were our drink servers in the pool area. They made sure we always felt welcome and did an amazing job recommending new drinks. THANK YOU! Restaurant selection is great and the servers at the al la cart locations were always friendly and accommodating. We loved waking up and heading to the coffee shop. Although the cleaning staff did a great job each morning with tiding up the room my only issue (and the reason for 4 not 5 stars) was with the moisture. Our blankets felt damp every night. Maybe it was the time of the year? This was a great trip and we are already looking to return next year!

First time and will be back

Absolutely loved my room. It was a loft suite in building 13 with an ocean view. Having two of everything was very convenient as long as you don’t mind stairs. The architecture of the resort is something to behold, especially at night. The beach was also gorgeous to walk and swim. The ability to transport around the resort by boat was very impressive and fun to do! I really enjoyed the food at the buffets, sports bar, room service, cafe and pop up grills. The service was tremendous everywhere I went. Ana, who is a server at the main GP pool was an absolute pleasure to be around. I love how each bar has different signature cocktail menus too. My only criticism is that the TRS swim up bar seemed to run out of certain beer and alcohol. However, the buckets of beer near the pop up grill saved the day! The highlight of my trip was eating at Sumptori. We had the privilege of having our sushi artistically prepared by Chef Jorge. Everyone with me agreed it was the best sushi that we ever had and we eat it often. He took great care of us and put on an amazing show. My biggest regret was not going back on our last night even though we pinky swore we would! Sorry Jorge but we had too many drinks at the pool hahah! I plan on coming back and would recommend it to others. Thanks for the great vacation and the memories.

    Great place, great staff!

We had a fantastic stay at the Grand Palladium during our vacation. We interacted with some amazing staff, especially the entertainment staff. A big shout out to Norberto, Paola, and Dante from entertainment. All three were extremely fun to be around. They kept us well informed of the daily activities. They were very engaging. We had a lot of great conversation with Norberto and he kept us entertained. He is a fun guy to be around. Paola taught us how to mix cocktails and to speak some Spanish. She too was extremely entertaining and hilarious. Dante invited us to an actively where we had a really good time. Louis from the bar kept the drinks coming and was very good to us. He did a fantastic job everyday that we were there. Douglas was very good too. Because of how well we were taken care of by the staff members mentioned, we are making plans for 2020 to stay at the palladium again in hopes to see these folks again. I cannot express enough how great these folks were and how they made our vacation even better.

    Walls too thin

So we arrived Sunday and here for 10 nights. Still have another week here. The walls are soooo thin here please please all guests dont use your jetted tub after 10pm. It's now almost 2am and I've been up since 12:30am beaucse everytime a neighbor next door or above you use it its extremely loud. We are here with our 2 yr old and this has been almost every night noise. At first I called front desk didnt know what the noise was they said they would call down security to check the noise nobody came but next day we figured out it's the jetted tubs. So please dont use them after 10pm. As we have a toddler we go to best by 10:30pm and now 3rd night I cant sleep cuz someone has been taking a bath for over an hour. I will write my full review once we get home. We are in building 15

I have never felt the need to write a bad review before, but having recently experienced an awful stay here at the Grand Palladium and having read previous accurate negative reviews I feel quite angry that management and tour operators are not taking us seriously!! First impressions of the hotel are absolutely stunning with a modern feel but unfortunately for us this is where the positives end.... On arrival we were not greeted with a welcome drink or not given any basic information about any of the amenities, not what you would expect from a 5 * large complex, however we planned to go to our Tui welcome meeting where we assumed we would find out further information. Upon entering our room it was very apparent that there was a strong odour of damp and mould but at that time we just put it down to the humidity. Part of our welcome pack consisted of a letter informing us of an illness called Cyclospora which can be severe that we were at risk of....personally I would of liked to have known before hand rather than being informed on arrival!!! The following morning unsure of where we were going we set out looking for the breakfast restaurant. On arrival at the restaurant we gave our room number and was shown to our table, given a menu and coffee was served. Whilst drinking our coffee we were approached by three members of staff and asked to leave as there had been a misunderstanding! Unknowingly to us we were in the upgraded TRS section something that had not been pointed out or explained to us on arrival. We were offered to take some bread with us if we wished!...we have never felt so embarrassed or humiliated and what an insult to be offered bread as a good gesture!!...after all we had just paid good money to stay in an all inclusive 5* resort!! Our Tui welcome meeting was taken by a rep that was filling in as the previous rep had just left. The meeting was approximately ten minutes long and it’s only purpose was to sell you the excursions and to inform you that another rep was on her way! No other useful information was given or could be discussed as the rep was clearly in a hurry to leave! The whole hotel was infested by mosquitoes and I had been bitten approximately 150 times in the first few days despite wearing jungle formula mosquito spray designed for tropical use! I then spent £50 on creams and a steroid lotion. We were unable to enjoy the outside entertainment and bars due to being eaten alive!! We were informed that the hotel was dealing with the problem however we saw no evidence of this and I continued to get bitten throughout the rest of our stay. On day three my husband became unwell with vomiting, diahorrea and a fever. We were unable to liaise with our Tui rep as she was never there and did not stick to the agreed times that were stated in the Tui folder. We then were seen by the Doctor on site and my husband was diagnosed with food contamination( Cyclospora) He was prescribed antibiotics however continued to feel unwell throughout the rest of the holiday not being able to eat or drink! We had not been outside the complex so this was definitely a fault within the hotel!! Apart from the omelettes cooked at breakfast and food ordered in the sports bar we had no option but to eat Luke warm food throughout the complex....several times I had to ask to have my food re heated due to it being stone cold!! The damp room and musty smell continued to get worst throughout the stay and the pillows absolutely STANK! The sheets felt wet and you constantly woke up during the night feeling cold and clammy...this led me to wrap my pillows up with clean towels and actually sleep on the towels!! we also found mould growing inside the wardrobe, on our clothes and on the suitcases! I am urging anyone that is thinking of staying here to spend your money else where! This is an honest review which should be taken seriously! We were so looking forward to celebrating my husbands 50th and instead was looking forward to returning home!!....absolutely gutting!!
