It’s all good till midnight and you hear banging from work getting carried out. 3rd night we eventually get management to come up to hear noise, the noise that shouldn’t be happening as we now have 3 children that are awake yet again, I’m assuming that they will be irritable as 2 previous times spoiling another day of the holiday and not to mention we are also tired.. texts and videos of the noise can be forwarded.. ps noise stops after management says nothing is going on in hotel hmmm!! What is upsetting is management claimed people are trying to move furniture!!!! Then it starts again arghhhhhh room 16213 Ps any video recording you want to hear let me know and I will forward it on!!

    Good Hotel but had issues

My wife , myself and 21 & 15 yrs boys stayed one week at the GP. We booked two rooms and really had high hopes. 1st Good things. Rooms clean and spacious, a la carte restaurant, Japanese, Steakhouse and Italian ; big +++++ to the people who work at the hotel, bartenders, wait staff, animation and general workers 2nd part Issues. I did reserve two rooms and asked prior my arrival to be connected if possible but one of them with two beds as must, when arrived to hotel, rooms weren't ready but already assigned in bldg 14, not connected but one across from each other, by 3PM they said that was assigned to bldg 15 because one of the rooms had maintenance issues and didnt want me to wait but new rooms were connected that was actually a lie, added that only one was available and had to wait for the other one to be ready, once we arrived we realized weren't connected but one next to each other, 45 mins later when second was ready we realized that was also a king bed only. I called the reception back and requested new rooms because we need one with two beds or that I could wait for my original rooms and this new person that those rooms were already assigned and I gave them the room numbers and confirmed were already being used by other clients, He said best we could do provide two rooms in different building because there were no 2 beds available close to one king or to stay at my rooms and that one of sons to use the sofa sleeper, I said that were adults and needed their own bed , but also not accurate after I spoke with the manager/supervisor and gave me two rooms in Bldg 15 almost at 7PM that were nearby with the promise to relocate me next day to a 2 rooms connected suite. I sent an email to the manager Raul Gomez but Erick Rdz sub manager replied to me that night with some kind of apology but at the same time he made his point of view as he always recommends to customers to check the hotels website because traveling with teenagers is always difficult and if I had should done that, I might had realized this hotel was not a good fit for us ( really, never heard a hotel can not accommodate a family of four specially when they offer connected suites in their web-page, , out of line and unprofessional). Did also complain win the facebook fan page mentioned the names and page admin didn't like because were some other comments with issues, Finally next day they relocated us to a connected suite but all the sour taste and after the awkward comment from Mr Rodriguez Rest of the week was relaxing, the main pool is good but needs more shade or at least near the pool bar, beach was ok, calm but some sea weed and lots of small trash that we didn't fully enjoy, The Hotel design and layout with the canal doesn't help because needs more bridges to cross the river, e..g Bld 15 is just across from the the village but you need to walk 0.5 miles to go around the river/canal and use the only bridge available, they have golf carts but at peak hours like dinner you are forced to walk due aren't available or not enough Overall we enjoyed the stay and liked the area, we hope hotel gets better with the time, probably 2-3 years will check again new reviews

    Under-staffed and inexperienced

Overall a nice hotel with good gym and pool facilities. However, when we had to call reception to restock our minibar, help us take our luggage to reception nobody came to help despite calling multiple times and being assured somebody was coming. Often sub-standard English meant that staff often did not understand what we were saying which caused confusion. In an instance with my brother at the towel hut one of the staff became visibly angry and flustered with him. Another experience on the beach meant that we were told an umbrella was broken and could not be set up despite it working perfectly well. We had to leave early all having got badly burnt. Having said this, the bar staff were extremely friendly particularly at the Aquabar. Some of the staff (the activities staff in the orange t-shirts) added themselves on Facebook and started messaging me which was a bit inappropriate. The food is alright- some restaurants are better than others. The buffet has nice food but serves the same options everyday which, after two weeks, becomes a little tedious. Similarly often the wait for the restaurants were long (30 minutes at least). Whilst the bars in the restaurant is a good idea, they would benefit from more seating as they quickly become overcrowded. Despite this wait restaurants were often only half-full and service was relatively slow. Often the food was not hot and in one case they did not know my order and my food arrived well after the rest of my family had finished eating their food. For the size of the hotel, it’s drastically under-staffed. Whilst the beach is lacking (small) the facilities are really nice and extensive. However the shortfalls meant we were unable to fully enjoy them.

    Great Hotel

Great Hotel. Do research first. It depends on what you like to do when traveling. If it’s to get pampered and have people do almost everything for you as you relax by a pool this is the place for you. If you want to adventure and experience the local culture then this is not. It is very excluded from everything else and you have to take a taxi or rent a car to see anywhere else. If going to Poseidon to eat ask for Angel. He was the absolute best.
