Amazing staff, great food, good resort

We stayed at the Grand Palladium Bavaro in Punta Canada in lasted September 2024 (Travel Club members) The staff are fantastic, Anderson at the Travel Club was very friendly and welcoming. William was our main butler and was extremely nice and always helpful. We made fast friends with some of the best drivers, Felix, Jhan Carlos, Dayri. At the breakfast buffet, Estefany always had a smile and hooked us up with a good table. The food is quite good, the buffet has most items anyone would want and all of the a la carte restaurants are very high quality. The resort itself is just ok. We went to Costas Mujeres last year and the rooms at Bavaro just don't compare as it is an older resort. Our first room was not very clean so we switched and the 2nd room had problems with the AC which were never resolved. Also, we have a young child and booked a crib with our reservation but it took over 5 hours for it to arrive in our room (apparently was delivered somewhere else). Again the people at this resort are top notch but the management needs to invest in some upgrades, especially at the Travel club level.

Not satisfied with room at check in

When we ARRIVED the Front Desk Agent gave us each an upgraded Junior Suite. This was done BEFORE any issues presented themselves. When one party got to her room, it smelled musty and the Air Conditioning was not working. Eventually they changed the three rooms so that we could be close, but we were put in another section. Regarding the ORIGINAL section we were put in: While one party was at the Front Desk trying to resolve her room issues, she received a call in her room from Maintenance (I was there, so I took the call for her). That person told us that the ENTIRE section was under repair and that all of the rooms in that section had issues. Front Desk should have had those rooms labeled as Out of Service. So there is a lot of miscommunication between them and the Housekeeping department. Later on when they moved us, this party's room again had issues. I can send you the photo taken of a minibar, unplugged and sitting on the floor, and of stained pillows. Her room had bugs, and was at first what we thought was dirty. She was then told that the room would be cleaned. She assumed that the room was in process of getting clean so we just went with that the Front Desk told us. The fact of the matter was that this room AGAIN SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT IN AS OUT OF SERVICE as Maintenance told us this room was getting renovated. She had to be moved YET A THIRD TIME! She wasn't in her final room until after 11 PM on our first day, so needless to say, our first day wasn't what we thought it was going to be. Regarding the first room I was in, our AC, while working wasn't working to the capacity it should have been. And when they moved me, I had no towels in the room, and our minibar was unplugged and empty. I had to call for minibar service and water. Towels were delivered while we went to dinner. Water was delivered on Monday night, but no one knocked. We found warm bottles of water by the door the next day. Tuesday we did receive a visit from someone (supervisor??) and let her know about this, and she did have someone take care of my minibar. Another also had an issue with her TV not working, but someone did come to resolve that. First day wasted on issues that could have been avoided. Your restaurants and grounds are very good and you also have hard working staff in those areas. Not sure why the Front Desk personnel cannot provide straight answers, or discuss anything with us without a supervisor and even then, we never saw one at the Front Desk
