20 Year Anniversary Trip
I was really hoping that the reviews I had read prior to going were off and I would enjoy this hotel. We have stayed at a Now Property in PV and had in amazing time so I was really hoping this would be the same.Well I was disappointed. I will do the Pros first - The Entertainment team are amazing, especially Jorge by the pool. They kept us entertained and were very friendly. The beach is nice, not rocky and easy to walk into. Now onto the Cons-When we arrived at the room there was a caution wet sign in front of the door as water was dripping from the celling. The mini bar was also not full when we arrived at the room. The first 2 days we were staying there the main large pool with the pool bar had no water in it so everyone had to move to the smaller pools. The food at the pool is awful (flat chicken nuggets, burnt ribs, and awful burgers) and unless you want to get dressed to go to the buffet its your only option. The food in general is just ok and the fact that you have to wear long pants when it is so hot and humid out going to a restaurant that is just ok does not seam right. They will let you eat outside in shorts but then the mosquitos are all over you. We were staying here only 4 nights and we left the resort one night to go eat good food in town. There was one day the room was not cleaned, and water was dripping from the celling one night. I would not go back until its up to the standareds of the other Now resorts.
THERE ARE OTHER PLACES FOR THIS RANGE PRICE THAT WONT COMPROMISE YOUR HEALTH. Everywhere you go smells hummid6, leaks, every where from the humidity built up. The first room we had I had an asthma attack after 40 min of beiing in the room. The bugs are aggressive, little black mosquitoes every where. The patio doors are full of rust, they are hard to open, the smell keeps getting worse the longer you stay, add paint to moldy smell. The only good things are the beach front, the french restaurant, the people working is very friendly. Date of stay: October 2019
Good first impression
We were a little sceptical about this resort with some of the negative comments on Trip Advisor but that ended once we stepped through the door. There are many positive improvements occurring fully converting it to meet the same standards as other Now or Dreams hotels. Beach was great. Restaurants were good. No issues with the room (don’t spend much time there anyway). Customer service fantastic. A special recognition to Alex the Pool Concierge. Super attentive. Taking care of everyone’s needs. He really made our trip special. I have stayed at about 10 different AM Resorts Properties and this was the first that had a pool concierge. It’s a super idea and the other hotels should take notice and put similar positions in place.
Straight review, no chaser...
Like many travelers, I read several of the reviews for Now Emerald in high anticipation of our family reunion trip. For the most, the reviews were fairly negative. I travel to Mexico A LOT, simply for the relaxation and proximity to the states. Please believe me when I tell you, this place is great. I can't refute, nor explain why folks have provided bad reviews, but here are a few of the things I encountered while on my trip: - Overall, the food was great. The buffet, Italian restaurant, Mexican restaurant and cafe were all incredible. Note that there's 24 hours room service as well. The food quality drops a bit for this, but its still pretty good - The pools, beach are beautiful and availability of seating plentiful - The resort is fairly concentrated and not spread out. So you won't find yourself walking from one end to the next just for a cup of coffee - The fitness center is more than adequate. The view of the beach is great as well Book the trip, you won't be disappointed .
First solo trip
This place is incredible. This was my first solo trip and honestly felt so safe and welcome. The food is amazing. I had the most amazing room. Would recommend the sea view rooms. Staff are amazing and very welcoming. The only negative I have, which to be honest didn't bother me at all. Is that there is a French restaurant which is adults only, but there were kids in here. But Mexican restaurant is fantastic. It was the first restaurant I went too. I'm currently still here so might add more later. But this place is amazing
