DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY THE FOOD IS INEDIBLE
The first issue with this resort is the food. Normally we can accept one or two bad meals on a large resort we don’t expect every restaurant to be fantastic, but we did not have one decent meal in our entire 6 day stay. We paid extra money to upgrade to a black wrist band which meant you could eat in the better places and none of them were any better. We were served raw chicken at one point. We were in a group of 16 people for one evening meal, and every plate was sent back to the kitchen as it was either freezing cold, inedible due to its texture (the steak had the same texture as jelly) or it was undercooked. I have travelled a lot and this was by far the worst food I have ever eaten. We had to travel off the complex to eat. Secondly, the attitude of the hotel staff is unacceptable. The waiters were fantastic for most part. But the check in/out desk, money exchange and shop in the pyramid had some of the rudest staff we have ever came across. The hotel writes back to apologise to everyone who leaves a negative review but does absolutely nothing about it, as the same bad reviews have been written time and time again. Don’t waste your money. There is so many more lovely resorts in Mexico.
No free wi-fi but beautiful hotel
The stay att the Grand Oasis was very relaxing, the private beach was beautiful and not very crowded. The staff were friendly, especially one waiter was exeptionally attentive, Pablo at the Tun-kul food hall. Also Silvia at the market buffet was really friendly and service minded. I was shocked that no WiFi was included and it cost 200 pesos a night. The room was beautiful at the Pyramid were we were upgraded. We had a jacuzzi bathtub. I think this place was great now that it’s off season, maybe on season it would be too crowded.
Great Cigar Lounge! Gonzalo Is The Perfect Bar Tender!
The Havana Cigar Lounge in Grand Oasis Cancun is the highlight of the hotel! The bar tender Gonzalo is the easiest person to talk to. He knows his cigars and he knows his alcohol, he will make sure to find you the right drink to go with your cigar. If you are planning your trip around Cancun, Gonzalo will also give you great advises on where should you check out with the best value. The collection of cigars (Cubans!) there are enormous and with high quality. The cigar room is well cooled and you won't smell other people's second hand cigars. So look for Gonzalo Palafox when you get there! We ran into some room issues during our stay, the water smelled bad on first day and the floor was not perfectly cleaned. Would give Grand Oasis a 5 star had the room been perfect. But the cigar lounge made up for most of the disappointments.
Fun and breathtaking views our 3rd time visting this amazing resort.drinks are really great landscaping is well kept we love it here so many different things you can explore without leaving the resort.
Excellent Service at Rodizzio
I stayed at the amazing Grand Oasis Cancun in November, 2019. Pedro Canicio waited on me every evening at the Rodizzio steak restaurant. He provided fabulous, friendly service. I'll definitely dine there when I return. I don't recall his supervisor's name - the one that takes your reservation and seats you - but his customer service skills were great also. I never had to wait to be seated or served.
