THIS PPLACE IS A SCAM A RIPOFF AND DIGUSTING. NO AIRCONDITIONING. THE FOOD WILL GET YOU SICK STAY AWAY

Digusting food. THEY STOLE ALL OF MY CHARGERS FOR CELL PHONE & I PAD!. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM A RIPOFF AND DIGUSTING. THE FOOD WILL GET YOU SICK STAY AWAY. NO AIRCONDITIONING ! Most of the restaurants were closed. My dogs would not eat the food that was served. The only place there was airconditioning was in your room and that barely worked. The restaurants did not even have air conditioning. There was not shade by the pool and other areas. The pool was 100 degrees and you could not cool off. The place is huge and requires miles of walking to get from one place to another. Hurricane Beryl was there the week befor with alot of rain and my 1st floor room smelled musty and moldy. The water in the shower came out brown and had a terrible sulphur smell. The bottle of water that were given to you when you asked were not sealed. They were refilled. Worst of all they did not allow check in until 4pm. I let the bellman keep my main suitcase. THEY STOLE ALL OF MY CHARGERS FOR CELL PHONE & I PAD. I arranged transportation through the hotel days in advance and they had waiting in the airport over 45 minutes. This place was so awful that I was supposed to be there for 6 days my jetblue flight was nonrefundable. I paid an additional $500 to leave on the 3rd day. They had me take a timeshare tour and they kept me from 9:15am & I did not get back to the hotel untl 5pm or I would have left that day. The timeshare people told me there was not Taxi and kept pressuring me to buy.; THIS PLACE IS A SCAM A RIPOFF AND DIGUSTING. THE FOOD WILL GET YOU SICK STAY AWAY

For the MONEY you pay for this place- Go somewhere ELSE!!!!

This was the worst resort I have ever stayed at in my life! The room was dirty and the bathroom floor was covered in hair and sand. The rooms needs a serious update. Cracks all along the bath tub are an eyesore. I went once to a dinner buffet that took 30 minutes to walk to it was awful. It was grilled vegetables in every pan. I had to search for the meats. I finally found a pan of some tough cut up steak pieces. I will have to return back to the Riu with optics in the room and decently prepared drinks. And I couldnt stand being served in those cheap plastic cups. I went to get a drink and the birds in the food court ate my food! The workers are hard working and I will not take that away from them. But for what you pay here I advise going to Live Aqua or the Riu Palace. And watch what building they put you in because I had to walk endlessly to find the food. I just dont like walking and walking and walking when I am supposed to be relaxing!

Beware of Grand Oasis Resort – Safety Issues and Poor Service

I normally don't write reviews as I'm easy-going and don't have high standards when it comes to vacationing. I just want to hang out and relax. However, my experience at Grand Oasis Resort in Cancun, Mexico, was disappointing and infuriating. The food was plain and boring, and the front desk service was horrendous, taking us 4 hours to check in. The worst part was when my nephew cut his foot on loose pool tiles, requiring hospital stitches (9 stitches!) . While the hotel covered the medical costs, no one checked the pool to prevent further injuries. Another family had a similar incident, though less severe. The lifeguard was rude, useless and seemed drunk. Additionally, no one called to check if we were okay or needed anything. My nephew hadn't eaten all day because of his accident, and when we called for room service, we were denied, even though the resort was at fault. We had to go downstairs and hunt for food ourselves after hours. They could careless that a young child was injured at their resort. They way they handled (or didn't) was absolutely absurd and unprofessional on all levels. Save your money and keep your family safe – go somewhere else.

    Horrible.

"I am extremely disappointed with the lack of safety measures at the pool. The lifeguards had no idea what they were doing and failed to inspect the pool properly. This resulted in multiple injuries, including my son, who cut his foot and needed 9 stitches. Another little girl was also injured. It's concerning that they didn't take immediate action to close off the affected area. While the hotel did pay for my son's medical expenses, they need to hire more professional and attentive staff. This negligence is unacceptable, and I plan to address this issue further to ensure the safety of all pool visitors."

    Excellent in every aspect!

Excellent hotel! From the time we arrived to check-out we were treated like royalty! Traveling with extended family we were all conveniently accommodated next to each other. The suites were ocean front and beautiful in every aspect. Pool/beach towels were provided in the room. The mini fridge was refilled every day. The safe functioned properly. The bed was super comfortable! Everything was clean. Restaurant options were plentiful. Many require reservations for a gourmet experience. Options were endless, even when some in the group had dietary allergies/restrictions. The beach is beautiful. The pools endless. I could go on forever. I already miss it! This was the 10th year we returned to the Grand!!
