Poor service on the Sian rooms
Let me start off saying this is the third time I’ve been to this hotel. Staff is always friendly. Food is always great. That entertainment is amazing. Not so great. This time we upgraded to the Sian rooms. The room was clean excellent view first day we got there. We noticed that the air conditioner wasn’t working the best so we decided to give it a day because we had just been moving around so it was a little warm so the next day it was still not working the best. It was very very warm in there so we went up to the concierge, Sasha, of the issue. And she looked up our room number and everything and she advised us that the glass on the table was broken, which we told her yes we knew it was. I put my suitcase up there and it cracked the glass we had no problem paying for the damage. Well they wanted to charge $250 to replace it. Anyway, she was more concerned about the glass and helping us.. another day goes by still heard nothing. So I go out and again speak with the concierge Sasha about the air conditioning. So she gets out the phone and she got the phone for a couple minutes and she gets off the phone if she ask us OK we got a room to replace it but it’s in the pyramid and there’s no view. I explained to her I did not want to move into the pyramid I wanted to view.. she told me just go look at the rooms. I explained her. This is my third time at this hotel. I know what those rooms look like we normally stay there, but I paid to upgrade to the. Sian rooms ocean view. And then Sasha asked me to do really pay for this room. How else would I get there and she goes into her computer she said why see you booked the pyramid and I explained her we upgraded when we checked in. She asked me again with who I told her Amstar. Three times she asked me if I really upgraded. I asked her do you want me to go get the receipt for my credit card.. she was very rude and disrespectful. So I went on the app. I contacted somebody about the air-conditioning because clearly she was not gonna help and they said they would contact with me within 24 hours eight days later still never heard anything in the room was scorching hot during the day.. onto the next, we bought a pair of water shoes to go on an excursion at 7:30 at night. They didn’t wear them the next morning we go to get up to go to this excursion. I put them on the back rips completely out and I have pictures back down to the shop they would not exchange it refused . Not like I was trying to get my money back. I just wanted to exchange them. They would do nothing about it. So beware about anything in that shop because it’s made cheaply.. so I am a little torn. I love the hotel. The staff besides concierge we had an issue with is great Alberto over by the happy chick is excellent very very excellent. The shows are amazing. The food is good. But I’m not sure if I wanna come back the way we were treated in the Sian part of the hotel. And going eight days without in the air-conditioning basically only time I got cooled off was night time so I don’t know. Sorry for a long review but again the food is awesome. That entertainment amazing and the mostly the staff is great…

Our Concierge, Francisco, proves that one person can make a difference.
Disappointing Experience with Only One Bright Spot Our experience started off positively, with Francisco reaching out to us before we left Denver, sparking excitement for our trip to Cancun. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Francisco and the door staff, who guided us to check-in. Unfortunately, that’s where things started to take a downturn. At check-in, the atmosphere felt more focused on rules than on making us feel welcome. Our room was okay but not up to expected standards of cleanliness, a theme that persisted throughout our stay. We repeatedly requested room cleaning and, surprisingly, Francisco himself stepped in to clean one day when housekeeping fell short—a disappointing situation that showed serious gaps in their service. Francisco was exceptionally kind and attentive, so when he invited us to a “club” presentation, we agreed, thinking it would be a quick 90 minutes. Instead, it stretched to a grueling 3.5 hours, and we learned about their tiered “all-inclusive” packages, each with different benefits. When we expressed that we weren’t interested in their offerings, especially as we already owned two weeks at Villa Del Palmar, the pressure ramped up. We were passed from one manager to another, until finally, “Johnnie” came in with a very aggressive and rude approach, acting like a closer from an outdated sales pitch. The experience was uncomfortable and completely off-putting. The food was another major letdown, reminding us of elementary school cafeteria meals. Even with the “better” packages, the dining options didn’t inspire us to eat at the resort as one would expect with an all-inclusive package. For the cost, they should aim to provide memorable dining experiences that encourage guests to stay on property for meals. While they compared their offerings to Villa Del Palmar, the contrast was clear. Villa Del Palmar provides flexible options that let you enjoy the local food scene without feeling locked into the resort. Here, however, we felt like we were constantly overpaying for underwhelming experiences. The one saving grace of our trip was Francisco, whose genuine kindness and effort stood out in an otherwise disappointing stay. Reflecting on the experience, we should have asked for a refund after the first few hours and considered a different resort. Sadly, I won’t be returning to any of their properties.

Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever. I have been given a room with a paper thin door to the room in side and it was freaking noisy with young girls. Feels like sleeping in the middle of a nightclub. Service is so bad, drinks in the fridger never restocked. Most the service needs payment, make you feel like 3 rd class citizen shooed from most places since you dont have paid. Food is okay but huge line up everywhere. Rooms are outdated. Worst experience ever. Never come back

Book elsewhere
Where to start...air canada rep asked why we booked here??? It's for spring breakers. The hotel is run down and dirty. The food, you won't starve but it's not great. There is one elevator for a few hundred rooms, we ended up taking the stairs to the 6th floor. Music is loud, so don't expect a relaxing vacation. We had to ask for water in room after 2 days without, beer is stocked only once.
