    Oasis Disco 2005

Chaperoned a group of high school graduates & remember going to a really cozy disco (with lighted floor) off the lobby of hotel. Anyone remember the name? Back then hotel was named Oasis, not Grand Oasis.

    Honest Review

My wife and I booked this trip through our travel agent and got a great deal...she warned use about the time share folks at the airport so we prearranged our transportation to the hotel with Amstar. She also warned us about the check in process which was the only reason I could not give 5 stars. We arrived at 110pm and we got our room at 315pm. Once that process was over, our stay was really nice. The food is about par...not bad but nothing to brag about..which is expected in an all you can eat establishment. The service is good and the people are friendly, however most are non-English speaking. We booked 2 excursions with Amstar while there and the process was simple and we had a great time. Xcaret was one day and the Jolly Roger Pirate Ship was another...both are worth checking out. We also took the fairy over to Isla Mujeres. We rented the golf cart there and road around the entire Island. We also went to the beach there where the water was calmer. Over all we had a great time in Cancun and at the Grand Oasis. I would recommend it to a friend with the same warnings our travel agent gave us and we would stay there again.

I would rather eat glass than stay here again

Possibly the worst hotel that I have ever been to. The rooms were repulsive - dirty, not lighting, no blankets, no AC. The "restaurants" served nothing but garbage after hours of waiting - to get a hot dog. I would rather have had McDonalds for every single meal. Terrible, non existent customer service. Beverages were watered down, cheap, toxic alcohol. I came home with a sore on my leg, which was infected with bacteria, I ended up in the hospital. If you go here you are a fool. Read these reviews carefully - this is a filthy, poorly run mess.

A very nice resort I would recommend

We stayed in the Pyramid and had the black bands. Nice hotel, grounds, white sand beach, and food. The place is very busy, with lots of people around, but wait times for restaurants weren't too bad. If you do choose to dine later in the evening, there can be 30+ minute waits for many of the restaurants. The entertainment hers is beyond good! The Kinky Cabaret nightclub in the basement of the casino is an absolute blast. Every night you can relax in comfy chairs, sipping drinks, while watching beautiful women on stage. These are truly professional entertainers. A great place and I'll likely visit again. Luis -A+++ bartender. He really belongs in a high-end steakhouse back in the States. The Black Hole restaurant is one of the best experiences of my life. Book a reservation when you check in, otherwise you won't be able to get a spot. It's amazing!!!
