Vary Nice Hotel and Staff
To say that the hotel is nice is an understatement but the front desk really made our experience special. The warm greeting was better than any other that I have received at a Hilton property. There was a slight mix-up in our luggage by the staff which was not really a bother but to compensate they waived the resort fee. An unexpected but appreciated surprise. I wish I could remember her name but the host was incredibly charming and her warmth made us feel welcome. The property is absolutely gorgeous and my biggest regret is not being able to snorkel in the local waters and possibly seeing a turtle up close, but I have heard they are often around the area. My next visit will be less rushed and I plane to do just that.
We stayed for 5 nights and the staff (from the front desk to the valet to the water gear rental staff were extremely attentive and accommodating. We had 2 rooms and 6 people being extremely messy but housekeeping handled everything. Also, the cookies on arrival were hot and delicious.

We liked the hotel but the room was so small, and there was no where to store our luggage. We had 4 people in our room so if you are one person you will probably be okay. The hotel was pretty busy with a baseball tournament. Elevators are really slow.
Good, not excellent, but still the best location in Hilo
Great people, staff, from top to bottom. My room was far away from the very slow elevators .. so a long walk and a long wait. No ice in my room since there wasn't an ice machine on my floor. The layout is how I remembered it from almost 45 years ago - but considerably renovated and made current
