Enjoyable, love the hula theme
We stayed here for two nights and really enjoyed this hotel. Service was excellent, with the exception of one bartender who refused to substitute rum for whiskey in our free (tickets they give you as part of the resort fee) Island Breeze cocktail. Valet parking (included with resort fee) was super friendly and efficient. Room was spacious and beds very comfortable. Because it's on a peninsula, wonderful ocean views all around. The grounds are lovely and so nice to sit outdoors and have a drink. We ate in the Hula Hula restaurant for breakfast which was not so good, I would skip it. I would definitely stay here again if we return to Hilo.
My go to hotel
There are not many choices in Hilo for hotels. This Hilton has become my go to hotel. The facility is updated, has a friendly bar and the beds were comfortable. Most of all, it's about their staff. They were all so friendly and efficient. We were offered cookies at check-in and check-out! If you need a place to stay, this is it.
I like it that they offered free snorkeling equipment. If you use it please go to carlsmith beach. You can see a load of Nemo type fish and there are three large turtles to swim with. Not a very crowded beach and it’s more like a park over a white sandy beach. Rooms were okay. A little pricey for the type they offer. Longe is chill with live music. One of the better places to stay in Hilo
Great hotel. Very clean and nice. Must get the ocean view room for your stay. Great service staffs are very helpful and friendly. . Good and drinks at hula hula is really good. Great place for a staycation
Disappointed with super low expectations.
If you watched kitchen nightmares - this hotel should be on the list if the producer wants to make a new reality show for hotels. Our expectation is super low - stay one night, check in around 8:00 pm and check out around 1:00 pm. Parking - Self-park. I have to park my car outside the hotel - across the street. Check-in: The whole process took me about 15 minutes. The stuff left during the check-in process twice for no reasons. I requested a late check-out and they asked me to call back the next day morning. Meanwhile a loud band was playing some kind of music to add the pressure level lol.. Room: Looks like a timeshare room or college dormitory to me. Breakfast: I got a coupon - "As an Elite Hilton member, you will have complimentary continental breakfast for ONE PERSON valued at $11.00 each. Upgrade available if you paid $10.00 extra." I laughed so hard. I also requested late check-out the next day morning. The stuff told me - "Thanks for being a valuable diamond member, you can check out at 12:00". I laughed and asked what was the original check out time and it was 11:00 AM. Anyway.. don't waste your money or points here.
