The staff at this hotel are outstanding. They made my entire stay so enjoyable. Every need was addressed immediately and their attention to detail was impeccable. Elena, who took care of my hotel room, was so friendly and very professional. I would definitely book another trip at this hotel.
The staff is awesome. Food decent at the restaurants. Clean room and overall seemed to be taken care of. Construction being done on a deck outside that was rather disturbing. I was surprised not to see more beach frontage. That’s a huge draw going to a place like this and to be in the Caymans at “resort” with this little beach is really strange to me. Other places had much nicer beach so will likely try staying somewhere else next quarter.
Love this place!
The staff is second to none. They are super friendly and go out of your way to help with whatever they can. We have been here before and the fact that they remember you gives you such a happy warm feeling. It’s like walking into family. Sucks that the beach has washed away. I hope that between the hotel and cayman are able to restore some of it. Can’t wait to be back and visit once again.
We stayed for 8 nights in October and had a fantastic experience. Like other reviewers, the staff made the stay for us. From the bell staff like Karl, to Miguel and Damien at the pool, to the amazing people in the Anchor & Den (Wendy, Zarella, Naga, Kadeen, Tarek & Abi, among others, and the excellent maid service and more, we felt genuinely welcomed and appreciated. We found the hotel to be comfortable and perfect for our family of 4. Our room (jr. suite) was spacious and perfect for all of us to spread out during the limited time we were actually in the room. We truly enjoyed the pool and beach at the hotel. We wound up sitting at the pool rather than down on the beach but spent a great deal of time in the water. The kids enjoyed being able to snorkel right off of the hotel and saw all kinds of fish & even a small ray & sea turtle! When we wanted sand, there were plenty of places to go right next to the hotel & walking on the beach was something we did every day. We took advantage of the many things available in the resort fee. Kayaks and SUP were a hit. We also took advantage of the activities like making your own chocolate bar with the hotel's fantastic chocolatier. There is something fun going on every night, and while we didn't always stay, it was nice to have the option. The hotel is in a great location, restaurants nearby to walk to, an easy walk to Camana Bay. All in all, it was a great stay & we will definitely return!
Excellent food and service but dated rooms
The pros: This hotel was recommended to me by a friend. I thought the service was outstanding! Truly, the staff are so well trained. Our restaurant server experience is unforgettable. They were also so attentive to our toddler. We enjoyed the Mediterranean night a lot. We also liked the outdoor restaurant. Staff by the beach are excellent and attentive. I remember our server from Bali in the interior restaurant and two lovely servers from the Philippines in the exterior restaurant as well as the Kenyan who helped with umbrellas and chairs outside. An international staff with superb customer service. I loved the beach and the floating sun bather floaters (not sure what to call them). By far one of the best beach experiences ever. If you love calm water - this is the place. The cons: at this price point you will be disappointed by the rooms. It’s very dated. Felt like an upscale motel which was the single biggest disappointment. Spending over $600/night on rooms and amenities this old is quite scandalous. The only other bad drawback is the incredibly small beach front and even smaller pool. It creates a nice bouquet feel but you don’t feel like you’re getting what you paid for. The other thing that was difficult for me to swallow was the amount of single use plastic. I’ve never seen more waste at a resort. Endless plastic cups by the beach served. A brand like Marriot needs to get better about this.
