Worst hotel I’ve visited in Mexico
Do not waste your money in this hotel the management is disgraceful. I have had so many things stollen from my room including clothes! Nicolas the manager is so unprofessional and so rude he gives the hotel a bad reputation. He dismisses complaints and basically called me a lier when I reported things being stollen from my room. I bought my son a Mexican hat on the first day and took it back to my room the next day it was gone from my room when I reported this I was told by Nicolas that it was impossible for it to be stollen there is definitely a scam going on we’re staff are taking souvenirs from rooms back to the shop to re sell. avoid this place but if you do come be very cautious with your belongings. The picture I have uploaded is of Nicolas the manager
Fantastic fortnight away
This was the first time we have been to Mexico, and all I can say is 'wow'. It was absolutely brilliant and the weather was high 30s everyday with only a little rain on the odd day on our 2nd week. Location This hotel is located just over an hour away from Cancun and it's right on the beach Complex size It's a large complex as there is 3 hotels in one. There is transport from one complex to another and everywhere in between and they're regular. There can be a lot of walking if you choose not to take the lift, but it's a nice walk anywhere so it's not the end of the world in my eyes. We weren't located far from anywhere that we wanted to go so we walked most days. Food We went to the buffet everyday. We didn't take advantage of the A La Carte so can't comment on that side of things unfortunately. The variety of food everyday was astonishing and they catered for everybody's taste. Each day in the evening they had a theme, however that only applied to a few things. To be honest the food did start to get a bit boring at the end of the first week that we were there but it was nice. When we didn't eat at the buffet we would go down to the buffet bar by the beach (usually dinner and late evening). The variety was far smaller here but it was great, however in the evenings the raccoons became a nuisance trying to steal food from tables. Cleanliness I cannot fault the cleanliness atall. The staff worked very hard everywhere constantly to ensure everywhere was clean and the attention to detail in parts was second to none. Staff All very polite and they all work so hard. They'd always say hello when they see you. I did feel a few members had their favourite customers, but that was literally the odd one and after quickly coming to that conclusion we knew who to stay away from. But otherwise, they all seemed really happy and would do anything they could for you (always kept you supplied with drink) Entertainment There was different entertainment every evening from 9pm for an hour. However this was on a weekly rolling program so in the second week it was the same as the previous week. The entertainment was ok, it wasn't anything amazing but fair play to them, they tried. Facilities Lots to keep you entertained if you didn't want to leave the complex. The day entertainment team always had things going on in various locations throughout so there was something for everyone that didn't just want to sunbathe. Room The room was good enough for us. We weren't planning on spending much time in there. Sure, it could have done with a bit of an update and a few things needed fixing. We had a dehumidifier in our room plugged into the wall, not sure this was standard however. It was noisy at night but it did help to dry things out however I was emptying it minimum of twice a day. The cleaners were efficient and always did a good job, and the few times I needed something fixing or had an issue, they were very prompt at coming to rectify it. Beach Unfortunately the Riviera Maya coastline has a huge seaweed problem. We knew this before we arrived so it was no shock to us. There was a team everyday trying to keep on top of removing it. However, no matter how much they removed more and more would appear. Some days were better than others but sadly it's a battle they will never win. This is not the hotels fault obviously and they are proactively trying their best. There are large rocks placed in the sea to break the waves so it creates a sort of lagoon to bathe in. If the rocks weren't there the sea would be so rough. All in all, this was by far the best holiday me and the missus have ever had. Shame the plane flight is so long for us, but that's another story. I would recommend this place to anybody in a heartbeat.
Beautiful resort, excellent food, pools and drinks! Only disappointing thing was that our air conditioning broke 2 days into the trip so our room was really hot during the night but that was the only downside. We would definitely stay here again
Lovely hotel and staff
Came here and was shocked how big it is Staff nothing is too much trouble .lovely food lovely pools and yes there is a lot of seaweed but the guys work hard all day long to clear it. Mother nature as its best. Lots of lovely restaurants and pools and shows and bars I had amazing time
Amazing hotel and location. Customer Service was first class. Nothing was every too much trouble and the staff throughout the hotel always greeted us with a welcoming smile. Spoilt for choice with regards to eating at the buffet restaurant. There was always something delicious waiting to tempt us especially the vast range of fresh fruit at breakfast. The grounds were immaculate and the hotel was spotlessly clean. My room was very comfortable as well appointed. Would it be possible though to let me know the make of the bed? I found it so comfortable that I would like to see if it is available in the U.K. Holiday was brilliant and I have memories of my stay, particularly of the wildlife that roamed the grounds that will last me forever. Will never forget an iguana trying to get on my sun lounger on the beach, with me still on it, while I was eating my lunch! This was my first trip to the Riviera Maya and hopefully it will not be the last.
