I want to come back
In truth, the best vacations I have had, very good food, very good attention, the pool is good and the beach is very good activities, it is worth highlighting Juan's attention in the bars, I was there in June in the villa near the pool , very good hotel I recommend it.
Wandel y isaia Wandel and isaia were excellent and we used paddle boards to do yoga on. The yoga was very relaxing with the music in the background. It was a different because you needed more core. I would definitely try this again!!!
Great for eating, drinking, and sun tanning, just not much more.
Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine was a really nice place to stay. Particularly because it was adults only, the time we spent in other areas of the resort that were kid friendly, the atmosphere was FAR less relaxing. The pool was very nice and the shows in the lobby and at the sports bar were great. We really enjoyed that there was an air conditioned place to drink beverages (sports bar). We also really enjoyed eating at as many a la carte restaurants as much as we could. This was our first time (we were on our honeymoon) doing an all inclusive and my wife's first time being tropical at all. We went on an excursion outside of the resort; Marinarium Excursions- we swam with sharks and saw stingrays-it was great. Overall it was very nice, but we found that aside from eating, drinking, and sun bathing there was not a whole lot of scheduled activities. We also found that there was a drastic difference in your treatment if you tipped people. We are rookies to the whole all-inclusive scene, so take my review with a grain of salt. Major complaints-Pool and pool bar closes early. Like 7pm early. After 7 you can drink at the lobby bar or the sports bar-that's it. (or the club in the main village-if you like the loud club scene). Your mini fridge has a couple of beers in it, so nothing much. So the whole resort is serviced by a handful of bartenders after 7pm, which can make simply getting a drink a challenge. There were minimal organized activities or tours or much to do aside from drinking and eating during the day. If you don't tip, you don't get nearly the service. If you do tip, it's much better. Our room didn't have its bottled water re-stocked for 3 days until we called and started tipping the maid- which wouldn't be a big deal if you could drink the tap water, but when you wake up in the morning hungover and there is no drinkable water in your room, it gets old real quick. Minor detail-many rooms had special banners and champagne ans such because they were on their honeymoon. We indicated we were on our honeymoon on all of our registration stuff and when we checked in, but got no such reception. Minor detail that didn't make or break it for us, but added to the experience. Overall it was a really good experience, we ate lots, drank lots, got some sun, met some fun people, but for a place that advertises as a 5 star joint, I kind of thought there would be more to do. The wife and I had a nice time, and learned that we are kind of "go-go" people. If you are looking to eat, sleep, drink and tan, this is a great place to do it!
You get what you pay for . . . ..
My friend and I arrived for a 6 days and 5 nights vacation. Front desk employees were very courteous and friendly. Our room did not have any USB ports. Only one electrical outlet was available for charging our phones and tablets. We had to unplug coffee pot and lamps to use other outlets. The phone did not have a directory. While at the front desk we got instructions how to call other rooms and how to contact them (front desk). If you call another room, you can not leave a message. The WiFi only works in the lobby. You have to sign up for it in the lobby also. There is a $9 charge if you want to use WiFi outside the lobby. After paying the $9 their WiFi went down. There were no washcloths in bathroom, only towels. We called for them three times and went to the front desk twice, but still did not get any washcloths. They were delivered three days later. Lighting in the room was very, very poor. Room contained a ceiling fan but no light. The employees only speak Spanish. Obviously, management does not make it a requirement to speak English. Our room was infested with mosquitos. Housekeeping changed our sheets and somehow, the mosquitos stilled showed up. Especially in the bathroom. Most of the TV channels were Spanish and you could not set the language to English. No matter how you try to change the language to English, the channels were still in Spanish. Last, the food was awful!! We paid less than $600 for this vacation and now I understand why it was so cheap. Like I said, you get what you pay for. Take my advice, stay somewhere else.
General review aboit thw rooms and area.
We stayed at Grand Bahia Príncipe Punta Cana in January 2019. We loved the hotel, the rooms - beautiful area. The animation and the evening programs were just super - a lot of music and dancing! Very clean everywhere. Large beach, which is a big plus🏖 Apart from that, we stayed at other hotels in Dominican Republic, but I want to return only to Grand Bahia Príncipe Punta Cana. On the minuses side - very few staff speak English; and the keycards sometimes get deactivated.
