    We stayed here for 4 days and got nickeled and dined at every turn. On the first day the 4 of us got simple foods (burgers and salad) and it was $130. Then we went up to our room and after picking up one of the snacks to see which one it was I realized it had already charged me $15just by picking it up. Then for the WiFi you had to spend $10 just for a decent WiFi. In general the place is somewhat run down and very expensive.

    Tired hotel with disappointing service

    We stayed here for a few nights and expected a true fairmont property experience. Not the case. 1) our room was not set up for the right number of people. We didn’t have enough towels, shampoo, body wash etc. I called for some twice before walking down to front desk and asking them to set up our room based on the number guests checked in. Honestly, hotel 101. Get it together. 2) the next day, hotel cleaning staff cleaned up the room but never left us towels again. Here we go again. I walked down to the front desk and complained again for more towels. 3) the beach is absolutely autrocious. There is garbage everywhere. The seaweed (yes there is seasweed) is not cleaned up. Some guy would whip around in a truck and pick up the large garbage pieces washed up from the water and drive away. There is empty beer cans everywhere. THERE WERE NO BEACH TOWELS EVER. EVER! They always conveniently had run out. We would go all the way back up to the pool and bring the pool towels down. The bar staff was non-existent and you could never find them. 4) the hotel in general is outdated and needs a serious facelift, especially the lobby and main areas. It looks ragged, tired and old which is quite unfortunate. 5) NOT a 4 or 5 star experience. Don’t expect it. Don’t stay here. Not worth your money. Not the fairmont experience or the brand. Very sad. 6) you’re better off staying at the other property, the Fairmonth Hamilton which is owned by a small family now and only operates under the fairmont name. It’s an updated hotel with beautiful service. 7) I will say the staff here, despite the hotel’s shortcomings, was very nice. And the Waterlot Inn has exceptional food. The only up sides. Our overall rating is a 2 out of 5 for this hotel. Good luck everyone!

    Phenomenal Meal & Service!

    My husband & I came here for one dinner & were blown away by the delicious food. We are both vegan & our server Steevan was very helpful in accommodating our needs. He was so kind, made great suggestions & even had the chef, Adam, come out to greet us & work on a special dessert for us! The chef here is great. INCREDIBLE. Very happy. Would recommend to all.

    Ocean Club Dinner at the Fairmont Southampton

    We had a WONDERFUL experience at the Ocean Club Restaurant at the Fairmont last week. Our waiter Ashok was fun, courteous and extremely efficient! The soft breeze from the ocean and the beautiful cove all added to a once in a lifetime experience. The seafood platter and the lobster linguine were AMAZING.

    Great location!

    We stayed in an Ocean View room with 2 queen beds. We are a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and found the room bigger than expected, very clean, spacious and very comfortable bedding and pillows. The Ocean view was beautiful, but did also include a view of the parking lot. Decor is ok. Lobby seems like it really needs a facelift. The beach is a short shuttle bus ride and it runs frequently. The beach is absolutely stunning. You can go to the “private” side for Fairmont guests only where there are lounge chairs, umbrellas and wait staff for food and drinks. Or go over to the “public” Horseshoe beach, which is more spread out, bigger waves. Has a concession stand and bathrooms. We walked to the other end of the beach and found sandy paths and beautiful coves! Absolutely gorgeous! My big tip for people staying at this hotel is - bring a refillable water! I was surprised there was no free water bottles in the room, no refrigerator (I had called in advance and requested, but didn’t get and then didn’t pursue). But there are many ice water stations that have paper cones for cups. With the heat I felt like I always needed more than a shot of water. I liked the lemon water at the spa pool! WiFi is spotty in the hotel. Sometimes it was fine, other times I was frustrated. I tried not to use cellular data so I would not incur international charges. Overall, had a great time and was very comfortable and really enjoyed all the unique beaches and coves that were easily accessible from the hotel.
