Gold Level excellent experience
Our stay was on the change of seasons. While the hotel was not busy with summer tourist, it was very busy a PGA Golf tournament on the island, a World Cup Sailing conference at the hotel and an international Rugby tournament starting the following week. A few of the food venues were closed for the season. The staff was very helpful in scheduling our activities or making suggestions of were to go & what to see. Tash at the Ocean view Restaurant really made a positive impression and was very enthusiastic about all there is to do on the island! Plus dinner was excellent! The only draw back to the hotel is that there are not any clocks or radios in the rooms. I understand you may be on vacation and time is not a factor, but when you are relying on public transportation to get around the island, you need to be checking the clock to match the bus schedule. Over all it was an amazing time and I look forward to going back.
Enjoyed a light dinner at Jasmine lounge. The burger was amazing and drinks and service to match! Ask for Hewa - a kind and gentle server. We stayed at Elbow Beach and dined at Loren Hotel- not recommended -
Great! As you might expect
I stayed at the Fairmont Southampton during an education conference and what a pleasant venue to spend a few days. As you might expect from a Fairmont hotel, the service, public space, and rooms were all well above average. I arrived after many hours of travel and in between traditional meal service so I went to the bar and ordered a house speciality, fish soup with a shot of Black Rum. The rum is not for drinking but is added to the soup when served. I had never drunk Black Rum before, let alone had it in soup, but it was delicious, and a fitting treat for a weary traveler. It also was a bit of a sleeping aid, since I needed to recharge before the events of the conference. The private beach is a shuttle ride or a fairly lengthy walk away albeit worth the extra travel to enjoy the pink sands. The nearby village of Hamilton had a number of eating and drinking choices and is accessible by hotel shuttle, cab or other public transportation. My stay was after visiting two other island venues, Jamaica and Barbados, and I must admit while the others had their unique charms, the accommodation and setting of the Fairmont Southampton topped the other recent stays.
A wonderful experience
We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at The Fairmont Southampton. The hotel was beautiful and concierge was very helpful. Room was always clean and tidy, we received a nice card and macaroons for our anniversary. Hotel trolleys to on-property locations (beach, restaurants, etc.) were great. They recommend you take the bus to venture off property, it was less expensive but we found it to be three times as long to get to where you want to go so not really worth it to me. Boundary was a great sports bar & grill for drinks and dinner. Special thanks to O’Brien at The Waterlot Inn and Ubul at Windows. Ubul was very pleasant and accommodating at our breakfasts at Windows. Our experience at The Waterlot was exceptional! Gorgeous restaurant and we were treated so well, all of O’Brien’s recommendations were spot on. Caesar salad made tableside was yummy and fun to watch, and you MUST try the sticky toffee pudding. You will pay for it but totally worth it.
Nice but overrated
It’s a nice hotel but a little dated. The rooms were clean which is number one priority to me. The pool area was mediocre. I didn’t like having to take a van to and from the beach. They came frequently but even a 5 minute wait is inconvenient.
