Beautiful
1317 south tower Pros: Free, convenient parking Water bottles provided with water stations all over the grounds 24 hour pool and fitness center Cons: Room didn’t have black out shades Room not cool enough at night. Far from all the shopping and restaurants Check in was super easy. The lady checking us in was very friendly and informative. We dropped of our luggage in the front and it was in the room before we even got to it. The room was spacious. We got a two queen bed room. The beds were comfortable. It did get pretty hot at night. It would wake me up because it was just muggy. I do take my own fan on vacation, so this helped. The room also has a couch and table. They have complimentary nespresso coffee and tea. If you like tea, they have the best earl grey tea that I have had in quite a while. There is a mini fridge that worked well. The closet has enough hangers. An iron is provided. A safe is available. Bathroom: spacious. It had a standing shower on one side and a tub with shower on the other. The vanity had two sinks. The toilet is separated by a door. They had plenty of towels. Toiletries include shampoo, conditions, shower gel and lotion. The grounds: beautiful. You really feel like you’re in paradise. Beach: small, but perfect for the amount of people there. There was plenty of lounge chairs. No natural shade was available. They did have some chairs with cover for rent. You can snorkel right off the beach and see some pretty fish and turtles. Towels were available at the rental hut. They do have waiter service. Expect resort prices. For two cocktails plus tip, it was $50. Pool: loved that it was open 24/7. Plenty of lounge chairs. Amenities: I used the gym. It was clean with plenty of equipment. They had towels, including cool towels. Tips: there’s a two grocery stores nearby.

5 Star Service at the Fairmont Orchid!
We just returned from an absolutely incredible vacation at the Fairmont Orchid! This property is so special; private, quiet, immaculately kept and situated in an ideal location to relax and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii that surrounds. The resort and all of its staff maintain a level of excellence we rarely find elsewhere and we were so grateful for the level of care and service throughout our stay. A special shoutout to James at the front desk for getting us a fantastic room and sending a surprise bottle of bubbles to help us celebrate our milestone bdays! His warm welcome truly set the tone for Fairmont’s 5 star hospitality, a much appreciated gesture. We found all the resort staff here to be so friendly and ready + willing to help make our vacation extra wonderful; thank you to Eric at the pool, Benny at breakfast and everyone at Browns deli for your kindness! Already planning our next visit…Mahalo Fairmont Orchid!

Our second stay did not disappoint.
Our second stay at the Fairmont Orchid did not fail to leave us wanting more. Swimming in calm clear warm waters with fish and sea turtles steps from the pool and beach bars is hard to match. Since it is pretty secluded, even when the hotel is full there are always plenty of unique spots to connect with the seashore. A good measure of a quality hotel is the retention of its staff. Derek, a 30 year employee, was the stand out. He brings his warm authentic island welcome every day to the Hale Kai Beach Bar along with the best Mai Tais we found on the island. The combination of soul-centered service with the magical warm air makes Fairmont Orchid a paradise to return to again and again.

The Fairmont Orchid is absolute stunning -- don't hesitate and book it!
My husband and I had such a fabulous time at the Fairmont Orchid. The service was spectacular! Everyone goes out of their way to make you feel special. The food was delicious at all of the restaurants, including the breakfast, the pool was perfect and never TOO busy, plus it was so cool to see all of the sea turtles (from a respectful distance). Special thanks to Merlin at the spa who gave me a Lomi Lomi massage that was the best of my whole life. Don't skip the spa experience! Also, Nani at the spa desk is a delight. Cheryl at the concierge was super helpful, too, when planning our days and making reservations. We really can't wait to come back again soon -- loved it!

Beautiful Setting, But Service Falls Short
We stayed at the Fairmont Orchid during the first weekend of January 2025 for three nights, and unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. We had an ocean view room that was clean, but the view itself was just okay. During our stay, there was some sort of conference or event happening on the property, and the loud outdoor award ceremony completely disrupted the otherwise peaceful setting we had hoped for. Service was underwhelming across the board. Check-in took longer than it should have, and when I asked for aloe vera due to a sunburn, I was simply told to walk to a grocery store up the road—no offer of assistance or transportation, which felt dismissive and lacking in hospitality. The restaurants were another major letdown. At breakfast, we watched a bird eat food off a guest’s plate, and instead of addressing it, the restaurant staff looked the other way and let the guest continue eating. It was unhygienic and shocking for a resort of this supposed caliber. The concierge was also not helpful and offered little guidance or insight. Overall, the property didn’t feel like even a moderate luxury experience at all. We were aware it wasn’t a four seasons but definitely would have splurged on the 4 seasons had we known this fairmont didn’t live up to the fairmont experiences we had been given at in Vancouver.Between the mediocre food, poor service, and lack of attention to guest needs, we left disappointed and would not stay here again.
