Top Service, great location, best beach

We come back every year for the beach and the people that clean/cook/serve, they are like our family. I will say both visits this year (April and October) it felt like the wait staff was not as relaxed and fun as the past. Not sure if this due to an off week or the new management over the wait staff. We will be back in December to figure this out since the wait staff kindness has been reason for us returning for 6 years.

    Great beach and staff!

We chose this one for the nice clean beach since not all hotels have that. We could snorkel right there and there were lots of fish, some rays and other wildlife. Island Divers Cozumel is on-site as well. We had an excellent time diving with them! The staff was friendly and attentive, especially since we went on off-season (the beach was also not crowded though I could see it getting that way at busier times). The food was hit and miss so ask your server for recommendations and choose items you'd expect to be good in Mexico. The options didn't change much and there was no buffet due to off-season but the reservation-only restaurant had ample space every night which was a great way to avoid the mosquitoes as well! Also, with two teenage boys, having all-you-can-eat was great! The room was fair. My wife found the bed to be uncomfortable but I had no issues and the A/C worked fine. Also, the WIFI was very weak in our 4th floor room on the south side. (It was stronger on the beach so other rooms are probably better but it did occasionally go out as well) FYI, there is an ATM in the souvenir shop for getting pesos. Great for tips and getting better pricing on some excursions. I didn't find one in the airport (at least not near arrivals) and we basically stayed at the resort so I wish I'd found this one sooner. Overall it was a great value and a great experience!

    A great venue

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Coz. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are a bit dated but we can overlook that. It’s very clean and close enough to the central square for additional dining opportunities.

    Great Spot for the Price

Great spot for the price. I will say, average. Staff is great. Don't Take No for an answer. Make sure they give you what you bought. The weather was good. Food was average. Order al-la-carte is your best bet. Al la carte restaurant was nice but could use a Wine improvement. Enjoyed the spa. Good spot for snorkelling. Jan/Feb 2018

Overall... I Loved it! Ocean View was Awesome!

Let me start by saying… My wife’s review will probably be much different than mine. Overall, I loved this place. I’ll start with the good and then later I will talk about the not so good parts. First of all: the people are very nice and always attentive! They have a small army of employees cleaning, fixing, and serving. They are always smiling and willing to provide anything you desire. Second: the location is amazing with a beautiful view of the ocean and a very nice clean beach that is constantly being cleaned by their staff. Third: the snorkeling right from the beach is pretty decent. The water is very clear and there are lots of fish even though there is not much coral. If you are into snorkeling… Make sure you snorkel around the south pier which is the last photograph that I posted. There you will find a bigger variety of fish and also some coral formations. We even saw a spotted ray, a moray eel, and a lion fish. My wife and I do most of our snorkeling at Chankanaab which is a great place! Fourth: cleanliness! The place is old, but they keep it very clean. Each day, the staff cleaned our room and it felt very sanitary. Like I mentioned earlier, there is a small army of employees constantly cleaning and doing repairs. Fifth: the price. This was the least expensive all inclusive that we were able to find at the time we wanted to go. It seemed like a very good value to us. We did go off-peak season. One of the locals told us that September is called SEPTIHAMBRE in Spanish because they starve for lack of tourists. Now… For the not so good. First: The bed and the couch in our room looked to be very old. The bed looked lumpy and the couch was very worn. That being said… The bed was still very comfortable to us. We did not need the couch, so we just left our luggage on it. It was very worrying the first day when we arrived, but we were pleased overall. Second: the food was less than spectacular. This was a very big point of contention between my wife and I. It almost caused a divorce. We were expecting a buffet so my wife could pick and choose what to eat, but because it was off-season they only had a menu. Almost everything I ate was very palatable to me, but my wife nearly starved to death because she hated the food. I only had four items that I thought were disgusting. The hotdog, the spaghetti carbonara, the beef steak with vegetables in plum sauce, and I cannot remember the fourth item. Their selection of beverages was fantastic and the bar staff were always willing to make sure you had something to drink. And now for some words of advice that will help you if you decide to go. First: make sure you bring mosquito repellent. It is not needed for breakfast or lunch, but you will definitely need mosquito repellent for dinner as you are eating in an open air restaurant and the mosquitoes are quite bad at dusk and dark. Also, I highly recommend Changing your dollars for pesos as you will get better deals on everything if you pay in pesos. Another warning… You will be wearing a wristband that says the name of the hotel and the vendors in town will lie to you and tell you that they were your waiter in order to gain your sympathy and pay more for their items. They see your wristband and sucker you in. Like I said earlier, overall I loved it and you will too as long as you realize you may not be eating at a buffet and the furniture in your room may be very old. Even my wife said that she would go back in a heartbeat!
