    Great day pass!!!

We spent the day in port during our cruise. We had a wonderful time snorkeling and lounging at the pool. Miguel and Freddy were our waiters. We never had to want for anything because they made sure we had it before we knew we wanted it!! If you're looking for a nice relaxing day while in port visit El Cozumelmeno Resort.

    Aweful! You've been warned.

Check in, wrong room and tried to up charge us. Shower disgustingly gross. Towels 30 years old. Buffet is 3 types of something everyday. After 2nd night, we ate out for the remainder 3 weeks.Smokers everywhere and you can't get away unless you leave the resort. Both hot tubs are disgusting and luke warm with nice brownish foam. Cold beer on tap??well...only the pool bar had cold beer as the other tap was not even refrigerated so we bought our own beer and pillows at the market. Pillows are like the old airplane pillows and the same size. Sheets were dirty upon arrival and the beds are dated back to the 60's...yes, that's right, swayback old striped mattresses with stained old foamy on top. Air conditioning worked either full out or not. This place is run down and it shows. It's almost like they are doing the absolute bare minimum just to maybe show some sort of income in order to sell this dump! bathroom taps in cracked sink only trickle with luke warm water as the hot doesn't work. Pool towels...well...they too are around 30 years old and you have to check them in and out everyday, but, here's the catch, you cannot exchange a wet or sandy towel, you have to keep it all day and get another one the next day. Buffet isn't even tolerable. seriously, we had to buy our own peanut butter at the store just to get by. Restaraunt??'s ok for the first 3 or 4 days but then becomes old. You have to get up at 7 am to line up to make a reservation, and there is always a huge lineup so good luck! Oh...and enjoy the sewer smell coming from the bathroom shower drain every evening. Even the locals seeing our wristbands in town felt bad for us staying there.

    Decent Resort for a Day

Check in took over an hour! We arrived before 10:00 am so our “welcome drink” was cool aid. Once outside, we had a difficult time finding beach chairs because resort guests had left towels and clothing on chairs to reserve them. Our assigned waitress gave us some chairs with a towel on them, only to have the owner of the towel show up rather upset that we took their seats. Service after that was slow. We ended up with two waiters and we would place orders with both of them. The walk to and from the beach is a long one and they couldn’t keep up. Lunch was ordered and brought to us. It also took lots of time. There isn’t much of a beach front but the grounds are okay. I would probably stick with Nachi Cocom next time. Nachi does have pesky vendors but the beach and guaranteed shade makes it more desirable and for a few dollars less.

I went with a huge group of people for a dive trip. The staff treated us so well and the service was great. Miguel, Jorge, and Johnathan were superb! The dive shop was very helpful and the unforgettable pepe, who was our dive master, was the best dive master i have ever had!! The videographer, Diego, did so awesome at capturing our photos! We all had a great time and can’t wait to come back!! They made us feel welcome and made sure we always had a good time! 10/10 recommend!!
