    Watch out for Timeshare vultures

Everything was wonderful. The Food could have been a little better but service over all excellent. My only issue is your billing. You have over charged me place charges on my credit card without an explanation. When we first arrived we were accosted by your representative to go for the 90 minute "free breakfast" Monday morning, the breakfast is free anyways... I did not appreciate this. I did not want to start my vacation telling this women many many times that we were/are not interested. She then called on Wednesday at 8 am and said she had us down for breakfast and if we were coming. The breakfast was suppose to be on Monday.. and then badgered me to book Thursday or Friday … again NOT INTERESTED. If I do recommend El Cid I will tell them about this incident. The only other suggestion would be do not give them your credit card number when you check in. Make sure they charge you for only the things that you purchased. We got over charged with no explanation, funny cause this was an all inclusive. Other than that excursions we took were great and food and drink excellent. Rooms were lovely.

    Beautiful, but is ANYTHING included?

I guess if you can afford the Cadillac, you shouldn't complain about the price of gas. But when you pay almost $400 a night at a resort, shouldn't some things be included? Should you have to pay $10 a day per device for wifi? How about $10 a day for the gym? I'm only going to use it for 30 minutes, but was assured my $10 would be for the WHOLE day. How about paying for those packets of coffee they place by the coffeemaker? Disclaimer: We did not pay $400 a night. We traded timeshare weeks for me to stay here, but that is the regular cost of a 1 bedroom suite. All that being said, the people who work here are amazing. Service is impeccable and everyone is friendly and kind. That is the norm here in Mazatlan, and despite the piddly stuff, it makes it worthwhile. I would rather tip the golf cart drivers who shuttle us all back and forth than pay $10 to walk on a treadmill! The resort is very nice, my 1 bedroom suite was clean and spacious. AC is VERY noisy. Would I come back? No.

    Beautiful Resort and Service

My husband and I are wrapping up our week long stay at El Cid Marina. This is probably one of the cleanest and prettiest resorts we’ve ever stayed at. The workers are kind and super helpful. Everyone greets you when they see you! It’s amazing. The 9 ft pool is great! They have a slide and a little ledge to dive from. Super fun! Poolside service was also great! Edy and Alex by the pool will absolutely take care of you! Tip them well as they are so deserving and hardworking! The maids are also amazing. Our room was spotless everyday and management kept leaving us treats (cakes, candy, wine). The beach was okay. It was a little crowded. We booked a few trips with concierge (Stone Island Cruise with horseback riding, city tour and the tequila tour). All experiences were wonderful! Pick up with easy from the front of the hotel lobby and the trip was efficient. They followed the schedule and all info they provide you. We had the all inclusive food and drinks package and that was okay. El Cid Marina has good food but the other El Cid properties were mediocre. Not as nice and service was okay there. We definitely were at the higher end resort so it’s worth it to spend the extra $ and stay here. Nevertheless, wonderful city and folks. We’ll be back in the future.

    the Atchison Sibling Tour

The resort was clean, the staff were always helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There were 11 family members in the party and everyone had a great time. The marina added to the experience. We will definitely return.

Marina El Cid does it again.

The last 10 have been exclusively to Marina El Cid, since we bought a couple of weeks with them. Love the variety of El Cid venues. This trip was, once again, all that we have become used to at El Cid--EXCELLENT. Special thanks to Micely Montoya, who went out of her way to make sure that our experience was exceptional.
