We are still here, I wanted to start my review And updated later. The room is excellent/one bed room suite with ocean view. Very clean. Excellent pools.keep in mind all inclusive does not mean all included. The bracelet they are selling you is not the elite.no mini bar,no internet in your room. No can drinks, example diet Coke. The bottle water in your room is free only the first night. However you can bring bottles of water from downstairs or buy it at the store out side the hotel. The staff is very friendly.
The hotel is JUST perfect! Located in the heart lf the touristic places, where you can find different places to walk around. It was a business travel for me and I found everything I needed in the hotel, the staff was very nice and helpful. If you have all-inclusive plan, I definitely recommend the food, it's delicious!
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FRIENDLY STAFF
This was the 4th time we stayed at the El Moro and each time it was the staff who made us feel at home. Certain ones went out of their way and were authentically interested in our wellbeing. Each time we were welcomed back like family. The food was good quality, especially the grilled seafood. The grilled baby octopus was the highlight of my week as far as food goes. Our daughter absolutely enjoyed the carpaccio in the Italian restaurant....the best ever !! This was the first time on vacay with our adult daughter and the El Cid El Moro did not disappoint. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are very clean with awesome views, reception is very welcoming. We must make special mention of the exceptional service we got from both Noe Alvarez and Ramon M (with the eyebrows). Noe was the bellhop at La Castilla on our first visit. His huge smile and wealth of information was a bonus then. Now he is supervisor of all the pools and not sure what all. Noe went out of his way to ensure we got the room we wanted, helped us with dinner reservations, and made sure we were comfortable. All with a genuine giant smile. Ramon Morales (?) at La Conchita pool bar has been our friend and super duper waiter for about 8 years. He is always happy to see us and anticipates anything we need, always suggesting something good and knowing our preferences. In between he tells some good stories. Ramon welcomed our daughter like an old friend, and she was totally comfortable. Both of these men are exceptional and could certainly teach the Canadians about customer service. There was also a lovely deaf lady this year who was sweeping the walkways around the pools. She was so friendly and happy and tried so hard to please. I had to hug her several times although I don't do sign language and she didn't do English. What a sweet lady, I think her name was Margarita. The people are what makes us continue to come back, especially these three. Give them a raise...hahaha !! One thing I can suggest is an evening bar with nice music somewhere in El Moro. There is nothing to do in the evenings in El Moro if you've seen the shows before. The only bar open after 6pm is the sports Bar in La Castilla and most evenings it is extremely loud with Mexican Karaoke where NOBODY hits the notes....WoW...not for us. So it's kind of boring at night.....Also, no more lattes or cappuccinos or flaming coffees. They used to be included in all inclusive and warranted a good tip....too bad we couldn't even get a latte after dinner...such a small thing is gone.
Would not stay here again
This resort bases what they give you on your bracelet. For lunch only hamburgers and hot dogs or the same menu for lunch and dinner at the main restaurant. Main buffet feels like a basement cafeteria (same type of food). All other restaurants need a reservation a day in advance even though the resort was not busy. Not accommodating at all. Only good food offered was at breakfast. Worst coffee - their "coffee bar" you pour your own from a coffee pot! No real cream. Rooms were clean but very damp. Only queen beds in rooms and mattresses were inconsistent (one hard, one soft). Difficult to sleep on when you are a couple with kids (I guess I'm spoiled with a king bed at home). Maybe ventilation needs updating to dry out rooms more. Nice pools, good beach but a lot of people harassing you to buy things on the beach continuously (with resort allowing it). No one bothers to unstack or clean the beach chairs. I've been to many other resorts and this one is by far the worst I've ever gone to.
As always the staff was exceptional and the food superior. the resort is always clean Pleasure to be there. I appreciate the great fishing and the variety of events each day. The waiters make the meals enjoyable with their recommendations and quick service. The employees in the Elite room are very special. They really help the owners and go beyond expectations
