Friendly Staff, Good Food & Great Drinks
My husband, 11 year old son, and I stayed at Dreams for 4 nights and had a great time. The room was clean and spacious, especially the bathroom. The food was very good and drinks were great. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The one drawback for us were the activities offerred. We enjoy beach volleyball and beach soccer, which were not an option at the hotel. However, for a place to relax and enjoy the scenery, I highly recommend this hotel.
Beautiful view and great service
This was our first time at this resort. It is a lot smaller than the other Dreams resorts we’ve gone to, but the views from our room and from the hallway (of the other side of the hotel) were better! Although we didn’t go out, we noticed there were shops just across the street, which is nice if you want to go out for a walk or shopping. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. This resort seemed more casual than the other Dreams we’ve been to. Most people didn’t dress up for dinner. We mainly wanted to relax and enjoy the beach and we were able to do that.
We have been to Dream Sands for the past two years. Both times have been absolutely amazing all because of Armando Vega!!! He really goes above and beyond for his guests. He really knows how to make you feel important and appreciated. He is genuine and seems to really enjoy what he does. Thanks Armando and Dream Sands!
LOVED OUR STAY!!
I was really nervous before going on this trip because I didint know what to expect however after we got there I was presently surprised! I don’t know where to start! THE STAFFFF WAS INCREDIBLE! Shoutout to Javier at the reception he gave us a good room, shoutout to Raul the manager of the Asian restaurant, he was super nice and helpful. Also a big shoutout to our favourite waiter that works at the buffet during breakfast time ARTUROOO!! He really loves his job, he’s super nice and he always made sure we had what we needed! I was surprised but the beach was indeed beautiful. The seaweed problem is present on some days and other days the water is clear. The food was good aT the a la carte restaurants however the best ones were the Italian and Asian! The rooms are always super clean. The lobby does have Ac but it’s not as strong. Our stay was very pleasant and for sure I would recommend this place to everyone! Also to add the location is perfect because it’s close to the airport, therefore it’s not a long drive and it’s close to everything. My only complaint would be that because the location is close to the clubs and shopping centre if you want to go to coco bongo there is a transport that will take you there however to come back you’re on your own. I found that a bit ridiculous because not everyone would be comfortable taking a taxi at 3 am or walking to the hotel that time.
3.5 Star Resort
I stayed at Dreams Sands in July for 5 days. I travel to Cancun or Playa Del Carmen once per year. I've stayed at several different resorts. I'd rate this resort 3.5 starts or Above Average. This was my husband's first time in Cancun and he absolutely loved this hotel. So all about perspective. I'll sum up the important points as follows: Room for improvement: Check in-Checked in right around 3pm. Front desk has capacity for what looked like 5 employees but there were only 3 working. This is peak check in time and it was HOT in the lobby. They did go around to give everyone cold towels and glass of champagne which is standard at most resorts. Once we did get to the check in the process was very fast. I did research on the this resort before booking through United Vacations and ppl mentioned upgrading to the "Preferred Club". This was never mentioned to me as an option during Check In. The Buffet-Probably the smallest buffet at a resort I've ever seen. The options were not plentiful and the food here was below average. They do have some a la carte restaurants that were much better that I'll discuss in the next section. Pools - I never got in the pools. Very small and not enough capacity for the amount of adults and children that were there. Beach loungers-Not very many and not available in the shade. We did have to get up by 7am to "reserve" our spots by placing a towel on them. The Good: The Beach-I did months of research so I was aware of the seaweed problem throughout the area. The beach at the resort had no seaweed. The water was calm and perfect temperature. The sand was AMAZING and overall the beach was very clean. The rooms-We stayed on the 5th floor. Had nice cold A/C and the bed and linens were comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job and kept the room clean daily. The A La Carte Restaurants-Gaucho was our favorite restaurant. One night we the waiter was great, another night I think the waiter was new so the service fell behind. All good though because anytime we needed anything, the manager (Eric, I think is his name) was very helpful and got us whatever we needed. Location-Don't need to take a taxi anywhere. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars. The Spa-I booked a 1 hour massage with Amparo and it was the best massage at any resort I've ever had. The Disco-The music was a good mix of popular English and Spanish songs. There was not one song the DJ played that we didn't like. Overall impression-Having stayed at different resorts in the area, I rate this resort slightly above average. It's very small which some ppl prefer so they don't have to walk around so much. I prefer a larger resort that has more dining and entertainment options and pool space. All of the staff is very friendly and helpful. My husband fell in love with this place and if was up to him, this is the only place he would stay in Cancun. Good thing it's not up to him! :)
