Our bartenders were amazing! They were quick and always made sure we were take care of. Rafael, Eduardo Rosario, along with a few others made our trip much more enjoyable. Would 100 percent go back again.
Rooms, elevators, grounds, food, service, entertainment, spa, butler & WiFi/phone app.
Our room was on the 3rd floor. No elevator. We wanted to be near our other 2 friends, but they could only accomadate a room for them on the 2nd floor. Elevators would have helped out alot. The electrical outlets were sparse. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous & well maintained. Multiple places to eat & food was excellent except for the beef. Staff was excellent & wanting to please the guests. They had entertainment every night & something to do throughout the day, games, etc. We used the spa services which were excellent. We had the Butler Service which we paid extra, his name was Ugery who we much enjoyed his caring attitude & help throughout our week there. We all had our cell phones & was told to connect to the WiFi & get the app. they recommended to be able to call home to the States, but was unable to connect at anytime, so we used the phone in our room to make short calls to home. Management did remove any phone charges we made after we compained.
We have just returned after 2 weeks stay. It’s the staff that make this hotel. Always happy and willing to please We upgraded on check in to a pool side room which we enjoyed but haggle on the prices offered as we got all options reduced by $100. We did not take the preferred option and was glad we didn’t as a total waste of money. We also gave a firm no to the people trying to get you to the talk about other hotels in the group Room was good. Bathroom in need of upgrade but sufficed for what we needed. Room cleaned every day by lovely cleaner. We left dollar tip on mini bar each day but don’t think we needed to Complex is beautiful. Very clean and well presented. A lot of walking if you struggle with motobility though. Restaurants are lovely. World buffet huge choice albeit a bit repetitive after a week. Staff lovely. Struggled to get into all the other restaurants even in the 2 weeks we were there which was disappointing Beach area was lovely. Hats off to the guys who cleaned the seaweed from the beaches. I tipped them because they worked their butts off. Never had problems getting a bed anytime of the day and makes me laugh the idiots that feel the need to get up early to reserve a bed! Sellers twice a week was a bit annoying but we just bypassed them by walking up the side road Cocoa cafe was the best. Staff so friendly and coffee and cakes yummy Would we go again? Not for us. Far too many weddings and way too noisy with loud Americans shouting everywhere but that’s just our choice and nothing to do with the hotel
Beautiful grounds and friendly staff but I just can’t stay somewhere where the food is sub par to McDonalds in quality. The 24 room service menu includes an incredible variety of foods including a salad, a hamburger, a hot dog, and a Philly cheesesteak. Every time I ordered the Philly (because it’s the only late night snack on the menu I would even want to eat) it was served different. First time steak and cheese, next time steak and mayo, next time steak and onion, next time steak, mayo, and onions! Additionally, during the daytime hours with a better menu, food was always magically “forgotten” when we ordered a steak, grilled fish, etc. to the room. The actual restaurants were terrible. If you enjoy Applebee’s for a date night then you may tolerate the food but if you consider yourself an adventurous foodie that enjoys good quality the food will make you cry. My boyfriend and I were SO disappointed. We’ve had better Chinese buffet quality food than this. We had the honeymoon suite, and it was a bit run down and in need of TLC. Oh, don’t let me forget that the alcohol in the beautiful frozen beachy drinks was nonexistent. I literally NEVER drink at home and could NOT get a buzz to save my life off of them. I finally by day 4 resorted to ordering two glasses of champagne at a time because I’m on vacation and wanted to enjoy a nice buzz for once! Anyways, wish we had done more research before choosing this resort. If you read this and still decide on this resort, I hope you have a better experience than we did!
Family had a great time even though there are some definite shortcomings to this resort. Food: 5 out of 10. If you're a foodie don't go to dreams. Restaurants are subpar, they look nice but food not good. World cafe is the best option(kids loved World Cafe). Proteins are cheap grade and few and far between. Few options for lunch at pool or beach. Hamburgers and hotdogs mostly. One day the had fried chicken pieces at pool bar but found out real soon that they just fried up all the trash pieces. There were bones in most of the pieces that were the size of chicken nuggets. Not good for small children. They always use the cheapest piece of meat. Always! Pool 9 out of 10 would be nice to have walk pool in at some sections. Otherwise pool was great. There are plenty of places to lay in the shade. Plenty of pool floats. Had one issue where a pool light came off in the water on about the 3rd day. The light and the wires were dangling in the pool. The screws had rusted to the point that they broke off. There were some sharp areas around the light fixture. I know because I cut my finger on it. I told a staff member and it was still not fixed the day I left. Hope someone doesn't get hurt. Rooms 7 out of 10 We had adjoining 3rd level, poolside. Rooms were ok size. There are no elevators so if you have trouble with steps you'll need a 1st floor. Air conditioning just ok, I slept ontop of the covers because it didn't get cool enough. The kids room was slightly better with coolness. Rooms were clean but dated for sure. They are supposed to update soon. Staff 9 out of 10 staff works so hard. Waiters were good. Entertainment staff works their tails off. Thanks Babyface for all your energy and smiles. Beach 8 out of 10 Beach was pretty clean. Staff works hard to keep beach clean. Even raking the tractor tire marks from the sand. You can do some snorkeling in the ocean. There is a reef that butts up against the swimming area. I saw a lot of fish. If you just want to do a little snorkeling the Resort beach will do otherwise you will need to do an excursion. Water sports 6 out of 10 my main reason for giving it a 6 out of 10 was the staff that runs the water sports area. They are not friendly. I interacted with them a number of times and the guys at the beach were not friendly, bordering on rude. I was going to do an excursion with the kids but decided against it mainly because of their attitude. This seems to be common at other resorts as well. Not sure why. Preferred status - Would not purchase unless you need a butler or top shelf alcohol. Overall the kids and wife had a phenomenal time. I would say if you can get a similar price on another all-inclusive and the food and restaurants are better I would go there. If you need a top notch high end room you may also want to go somewhere else. Good luck!
