I wish I could love this place!
I’ve been trying to think of how I review this hotel in the most fair way so can…so here is my attempt: I was super nervous about this hotel based on the reviews. I had never been to an all inclusive so I didn’t truly know what to expect, but there have to be better places than this. We got in late and checked in when it was dark. So the lobby and the entrance were nice. Dated for sure, but nice. I saw reviews about the language barriers which made me chuckle considering you’re going to a Latin country, but my husband is from Panama so we didn’t have that issue. I recommend a good translation app and you’ll be just fine. 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽 Entering the room it smelled stale and old, and the rooms are extremely dated. The shower was very stained. The sheets were stained and the furniture was just extremely old. That being said, it’s not a Motel 6 and it felt clean enough to lay our heads there for the 6 nights we were staying. The next morning the view from our room was absolutely beautiful!!! Walking the grounds, they’re beautiful as well!! Note to Hyatt and the management of this property, if you’d take some money and upgrade the rooms this could be a gorgeous place!! The staff was amazing!! Like I can’t say enough about that. Especially Oscar!! His personality is just so delightful. A few people seemed to have had a bad day, but I won’t let them be the overall spokesperson for the entire staff. They were great! I saw a review about the food and they called it “suspicious”. I remember chucking bracing myself for the worst. I couldn’t have been prepared for how bad this food was. Breakfast was “tolerable”, but overall the food was abysmal. I truly wish I could get some kind of refund for how terrible this food was. It was shockingly bad!!! Some reviews were harsh on the drinks. I didn’t find them to be terrible. Not a great deal of the best top shelf liquor, but we did enjoy the drinks and the bar tenders were awesome! Not sure I can accurately rate the entertainment as I’ve never been to another all inclusive. What they had seemed fun enough. So I’ll leave that one alone. All and all 3 is the best I could ever give this place. Which is sad because it has SOOOOOOO much potential. So, enter at your own risk. And if you decide to stay here, you’ll get by. But it’s probably not the best or worst place you’ve ever stayed. Good luck!!

Need improvement
Housekeeping needs improvement. Restaurants were limited to 2. Hang out club was muggy and had a smell. Check-in desk did not read note for our additional person added that was approved prior to arrival. Person waited 3 hours and note was under room reservation but check in desk never look through it and manager noted Hyatt agreement note after having person wait over 3 hours to other party arrived.

Dreams that turn to nightmares
Worst experience from checkin to check out, abd got bit by bedbugs, i will never go here again. FOOD WAS BASIC. The onlly bar for good drinks was the preferred lounge. I also paid for an ocean view and was placed on the ground floor with a garden view

Kind of a disappointment to the Dreams Resort Brand
Dreams Playa Bonita Panama has potential to be a very nice hotel, However the grounds were not very well kept during my visit. The restaurants and bars seemed to be understaffed and during our visit they closed 1 out of the 3 specialty restaurants. Instead of rotating between the French and Italian restaurant the only option every night was to eat at the Buffet, Seafood, or French restaurant. The preferred club only gave you access to 2 additional bars that provided top shelf liquor if you asked for it, normally preferred members have access to additional restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner but this was not the case during our visit. The rooms were kind of outdated and the towels when replaced were often tattered and worn. In our wing of the hotel there were two elevators and one of the elevators was broken at all times. We decided to use the stairs everyday to avoid getting stuck in an elevator. I have stayed at much nicer five star hotels and wouldn't rate this as a five star hotel. For the price it is quite over priced and requires additional updates to be on par with the other Dreams Resorts.

What a vibe!
This resort has something for everyone! There are two beautiful pools - a quiet pool and a party pool. The party pool is always rocking thanks to the energetic entertainment team who has activities, games, fitness offerings and dance classes in and around the pool all day long. The view for both pools is so beautiful with the mountains in the background. It's fun to check out the ships that are ready to enter the Panama Canal as they line up in front of the resort. Set in the middle of a tropical paradise, there is a lot to explore. We toured the Panama Canal and Old City on one day, and then visited the rainforest and sloth preserve on another day. There is also a large shopping mall nearby with lots of stores you won't find in the States. There was a sloth family living in the trees just in front of our room! There is a guided rainforest hike several days a week offered by the resort. Food is very good at all of the restaurants, and they have gluten free options if needed. We thoroughly enjoyed the cafe which is open from early morning until late into the evening for a quick snack, coffee or cappuccino. There is a nice, air-conditioned gym with cold water and towels always ready. The resort was very clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I hope I get a chance to return. Definitely put this one on your wish list!
