Not worth the price, and beware of the smoke.

We came here for a 5 night stay. Check in was smooth, and we opted to pay for an upgrade. That was our first mistake: Our upgraded room placed us beside guests that would use incense to mask their filthy smoking habit in the room. The stench of incense would fill our own room in the evening (via the unsealed adjoining door). I woke up at 1 am feeling like I fell asleep beside a bad campfire. Complaining politely to the hotel staff did nothing. I had go get flat out angry for them to finally take appropriate action and move us to a different room (on the last day). The food was decent, although quality control is not something this resort is keenly aware of. Not all the food served was prepared correctly: Undercooked Risotto, overcooked seafood and burnt pizza crust were among a few items. The staff is accommodating enough, and would replace items as requested. The buffet was probably the best place to eat, although they do not serve dinner. The cafe was excellent, although since we found it on our last day, we didn't make as much use of it as we could have. The pools are great, although chairs can be hard to come by in the family area. The adult-only section had a lot more spaces available, which was great for us. Some of the entertainment was really good, like the live music near the main lobby. The Thursday night fire show wasn't bad either. It is worth mentioning we got a package deal to stay here. Had we not been offered this, we probably wouldn't have stayed here, given the regular price is awfully high. Based on our experience here, I really doubt we would come back, as there are plenty of other resorts that offer far more value for the price. The fact that management didn't really take my polite complaint seriously the first time, only makes it more certain that we won't be back.

    Amazing experience!

Great trip. Beautiful resort and great views. Fun activities and areas for kids like pickleball and basketball and ping pong and badminton. Perfect place for families. Amazing service and good food at the seaside grill from our waiter Cesar.

    Great but..

Beautiful hotel and great service. the food was decent but service in the a la carte restaurants is slooooow. HOWEVER, they were painting something around the rooms and the smell of the pain was toxic. I had to keep the balcony door open. Elevators and some of the pathways in the hotel need some attention (old and crumbling).

    Mixed feelings about our trip

Check in was fast but right after that we had the "hard sell" to attend a breakfast event to promote the Hyatt Multi Resort Package, for a "free" romantic dinner. We were not interested as we prefer Marriott but the salesman would not let it go and when we told him we'd get back to him, he said " everyone says that and they never do" and ripped up the information sheet and put it in the bin. I understand why they do this but the sales staff need more training. Staff were fantastic from the "preferred" beach bar (Oscar was amazing) to the restaurant staff and the main lobby bar folks. 1st night we had room service and I went for lousiana fried chicken with coleslaw and fries. It came without coleslaw or fries and the chicken was not fried and dry as a bone. Just inedible and took 1 hour. Best restaurant was Bordeaux, followed by Oceana and Portofino. Breakfast in the Seaside Grill was excellent ( avocado with eggs really nice). Nice bbq and bingo night, which was fun. We had a swim out, ocean, king size room with a separate lounge and sun terrace. Right on the beach and the room was very nice ( bit old, but not too bad). During our entire stay, the room was not cleaned until 3 pm and the refill of the mini bar was hit and miss, at best. Room was clean however, no issues there. Room was nice and quiet , even the wedding music stopped around 10 pm The beach is very nice and the water is very clear. The breakers are huge and the rip current prevents swimming, but that didn't really bother us. We went for the "preferred" package, but the dedicated lounge was pretty poor. The food on offer was below average, but we hod some nice cocktails before dinner.
