    La Romana > Punta Cana

    We were drawn the this area after our trip last year to Punta Cana. The best part about the resort is its superb location. The water is pristine [FAR better than any beach in Punta Cana] and the sand is the softest I've ever encountered. No terrible seaweed and clear enough that we were able to snorkel at the resort mult days [seeing LOTS of starfish] We decided to stay at this property because it's been recently renovated [ AND STILL IS BEING RENOVATED ] . I say this because we did hear some noise while on the beach of construction. The property that has been touched is beautifully done and well maintained. The reasons I only gave it 4 / 5 is because we felt like we wanted more resturant selection [I did not care for the cuisine rotations mentioned in other reviews]. The mini refrigerators should be updated. Also comparing it to a few other all inclusives I felt it was a knotch below. The service was good, staff friendly and always working to make everything perfect. The room clean with good housekeeping. They provided a lot of entertainment options. And overall my husband and I had a nice anniversary trip. included is a picture from our room balcony. We paid for a partial ocean view [just so anyone knows who books you dont really get an obstructed ocean view, not a big deal but good to know what you are working with]

    Great holiday

    The Hilton La Romana welcomed me and my wife with a glass of champagne and a smile. It was raining when we arrived but there umbrellas on hand to keep us dry as we made our way to our amazing room. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and polite and a every time we met another staff member they all put their right hand on their heart as part of the greeting. After a few days we found ourselves doing the same thing back to them. This is a really nice memory. All of the Hilton standards were met or exceeded and we had sunshine and laughter for 12 amazing nights. We upgraded to the premium package which I would recommend for the benefits you get. It is hard to mention any one in particular but Victor Val from the Premium Bar looked after us and made amazing cocktails. A big thank you to all of the staff. We will come back soon.

    A wonderful Resorts… A most enjoyable visit!

    The resort has recently been renovated. The buildings and the location are absolutely superb. The dining options are excellent. The service is top notch. In particular, Elaine and Viaury were incredible! They both greet clients when they come to a restaurant and then take them to a table. Their smiles and pleasant disposition set the evening off just right! Employees like this result in a vacation that is extra special and make it more likely that People will return to the resort in the future! Kudos to both Elaine and Viaury🌹🌹🌹! I would highly recommend this resort! El complejo ha sido recientemente renovado. Los edificios y la ubicación son absolutamente excelente. Los sitios para comer son excelentes. El servicio es de primera clase. En particular, Elaine y Viaury fueron increíbles! Ambos saludan a los clientes cuando vienen a un restaurante y luego los llevan a una mesa. Sus sonrisas y agradable disposición puso la noche a la derecha!     The Hilton La Romana's forte is the maintenance and beauty of its facilities. The rooms, pool areas, restaurants and beach are all extremely clean and taken care of. The plants are lush and gorgeous. I enjoyed seeing all of the different flowers and greenery that I don't see at home (and flamingos). Premium benefits: As premium members (don't pay for this if you are already a Hilton Diamond member- it should be automatic) we enjoyed a partial ocean view on the 3rd floor (there are only 3 floors total). Premium status allowed access to the Premium pool which was a highlight for us. This pool is so peaceful, beautiful, and has a great swim up bar. We did not feel compelled to use the other pool because of how pleased we were with the Premium pool. Plenty of chairs, umbrellas, and food/drink! They let us have 4 towels at a time, two for our "shade chairs" under the umbrella and two for our "sun chairs". As Premium members you can also sit in an exclusive area along the beach. The water is bright blue and lovely, but was a bit too sandy to snorkel (we tried!) The Premium lounge is great - there is a snack bar open that has fruit, a salad bar, bread, meats, some hot appetizers and bakery items. There is also a full service bar and plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor + TVs and restrooms. Some reviews complain that the lounge food isn't sufficient, which I cannot understand. I could easily have made full meals there if I wanted to. Premium members have access to eating facilities aside from the buffet for breakfast and lunch, but we never took advantage of that. The buffet was fantastic. I am a vegetarian/picky eater and I was always able to find plenty to eat! I especially appreciated the green juice, and you must try the Muesli at breakfast - so good! The other restaurant options were great, too. ROOMS: Very pleased with the rooms. We stayed in the newly renovated Adult Only side - we didn't hear one bit of construction coming from the Family Side. Rooms were clean and were tended to twice a day by the staff. Spacious bathrooms and great shower. Robes included! If you are staying on the 3rd floor, please be aware that you might hear bats and/or birds in/on the roof. They are NOT in the room and this is not the hotel's fault. Bats are very prevalent here and help keep the mosquito population under control so please try to embrace them! This is their home too. They do make some noises at dawn and dusk but we got used to it. Mosquitos definitely were biting, but not terrible. I am a mosquito magnet and this wasn't even close to being my worst experience with bites. Just make sure to bring your bug spray and be diligent about reapplying it. I only got a few bites and they went away after a few days. We didn't have any issues with bugs or creatures beyond that. FOOD: On the Adult Only side, restaurants rotated. One between Italian, French and Greek, one between seafood and Steak, and there was also a Hibachi/Sushi restaurant. We enjoyed everything. Be prepared for SPICY at the Asian restaurant, though! The buffet was by far our favorite in terms of both variety and quality. Hand sanitizer is provided upon entry of every dining facility - great touch. The 24/7 coffee bar, Aroma Cafe had yummy desserts and pastries available at all hours. The espresso drinks were great, we just wished the cups were larger! The lunch menu we ate from, poolside was decent, but nothing to write home about. Basic things like fries, pizza, hamburgers, but it got the job done and we liked being able to eat by the pool. Premium members are allowed to use the actual restaurants for breakfast and lunch, but as stated above, we preferred the buffet for breakfast! As far as drinks go, we did not encounter a bartender anywhere on the property who skimped on the alcohol. All drinks were strong and yummy. At restaurants, the servers refilled my wine glass more promptly than they did my water! Do not be concerned about weak drinks here! Shout out to Berenice, our Premium pool bartender. She kept the drinks coming for "Senor Kona Copa" :) SPA/SALON My partner and I both took advantage of a deal they were running - $60 each for a 50 min massage. The spa is currently being renovated so the massages happened in one of the hotel suites which was completely fine in my opinion. The massages were fantastic, especially for the price, 50% off. One night I had two dutch braids done in the salon- $20 total. They looked amazing and I swear they used some magic serum or oil that kept my hair so soft and healthy against the sun and chlorine all week. It was amazing! This resort is still in a period of transition, and I know with time it will be even better than it is now, but there were some kinks in the system to be mindful of. If you are a Diamond member, be aware that Premium membership at this resort should come automatically, do not pay for it. You may see a discrepancy between your booking price and your final bill, as they bill you in pesos which convert on your credit card to the current exchange rate. Despite our request, they would not bill us in US dollars at the booked rate. Also, we had some issues with our "15% off at the gift shop" benefit. This discount did not occur automatically, and it was fairly difficult to get the staff to honor it as we were checking out. They claimed that we needed to tell the gift shop clerk as we were purchasing the items. A couple other minor things - Wifi was spotty. When it worked, it was strong, but at least 4-5 times during our stay, it went out completely, once for almost 2 hours. Be aware that the housekeeping staff will turn your room temperature up as they leave, so don't be surprised to come back to a room that is hotter and muggier than you left it. The room service extension was busy every time we tried to call it. A couple nights, vendors were set up in the main walking area of the resort trying to sell things. This was a bit annoying as they were pushy, so we would avoid those areas if possible. Again, minor things to be aware of as new guests, but nothing that greatly impacted our overall satisfaction with the stay. Hilton La Romana was impressive and made us feel very happy and safe. Their attention to the smallest details, from landscaping to Hershey kisses on our pillows every night made us feel incredibly welcome. You can tell the staff is proud of what they do and seem genuinely happy to help their guests. We plan on returning. For those concerned because of recent media attention re: unsafe situations in the DR, don't worry. No bad vibes here AND we drank from the mini bar every day. One final comment - use DAT if you are looking for a safe, affordable and enjoyable transport from the airport! $84 one way from Punta Cana International.     Best hotel resort

    Best all inclusive hotel in the world. The staff works so hard to make everything perfect. They provide entertainment, and you can’t believe the restaurants are inclusive (5star dinning). The beach is beautiful with an amazing infinity pool. Drinks are great. My good new friend Carlos King is the hotel concierge. I asked him to get me some cigars and the next day he brought it! I even forgot a pair of paints for a nice restaurant, and one of the staff members gave me one of his!! Great place! Also ask for Ramon in entertainment! Great guy! He got me some excellent coffee to take home, and made my girlfriend feel right at home!! Be back for honeymoon
