Dreams Huatulco is a great facility for families. It has an abundance of pools and a short easy walk to the beach. They have an abundance of bars and restaurants but we were a little surprised that some of the restaurants close on certain days. We were also surprised that the nicest restaurant had a strict dress code of pants and shoes with a collared shirt for men. Women can pretty much wear what they want. But if you dress appropriately the Portofino restaurant offers some of the best food on the resort. Even the room service was very good. But my favorite part of the resort was the Dreams Entertainment team. The activities team was amazing. Our favorites were Luis and Neftali. They are all extremely hard working and the activities were interesting and many varied during our stay. Some like the archery and water aerobics were daily. All were entertaining. If you do manage to dine in Portofino make sure you track down Julio and have him make you a Spanish Coffee. It’s both dinner and a show. And if you get the preferred package take advantage of the preferred lounge on the 6th floor. Our favorite bartender on the resort was Genaro. He’s not the most talkative but he’s very talented with his mixology and he’s got a generous pour. Speaking of the preferred package…it’s debatable if it’s worth the extra cost. The preferred beach area is small and the rest of the bars are stocked with some good booze brands. Overall we had a great experience at Dreams Huatulco and I would recommend visiting. And the weather is hard to beat.

A very positive experience!
Enjoyable 10 day stay with Preferred club level that offered great service at the private lounge by Christina and Theresa. They graciously took care of our every need. Louis at the pool water aerobics was happy and energetic as he led us in exercise. Thank you to Louis and his team! The beds were very comfortable. We slept well in our air conditioned room. The service from all staff in all the restaurants and housekeeping, was excellent. I think it was Brenda? who cleaned our room.. Thank you! Ariel with marketing, was a helpful guide when I had questions and there was no pressure from him on products. The Mexican people at the are generous, polite and gracious. We recommend the Preferred club for the extras perks. A very positive time

Excellent Family Vacation!
Our family had an excellent time! Everything was taken care of! The rooms were excellent with plenty of amenities! The food was wonderful! The pools and beach were perfect! The staff were friendly and caring especially Primitiva! We have already recommended Dreams Huatulco to friends and a some have booked for March already! I think we will be back for sure!

Jan 23, 2025Great trip! Would like to see improvements on proper food handling practices
My husband and I recently returned from this resort after celebrating our first wedding anniversary. It was our 3rd time here. We had a very good time here. The rooms were spacious and clean. We had an issue with the lock on our door but the maintenance team came right away to deal with this issue. We spent every day at the beach. We are early risers so we did not have issues getting chairs on the beach under a palapa. However, since we were often one of the first groups on the beach every morning, we saw a lot of people come down around 8-9am (depending on the day) and not be able to get a seat on the beach. The ocean was swimmable. We brought our own snorkel gear and the snorkelling was excellent by the rocks. I cannot say enough about the excellent staff at this resort! A few people who stood out to us this year: -Daniel (pool server): Daniel was prompt with his service, friendly, and remembered us from our stay last year! -Primi (pool server): Primi was so sweet and was always smiling. By the end of the day she could recall our drink orders and aways kept our drinks topped, as well as she brought us shooters she thought we would enjoy -Eligio (pool server): Eligio was excellent and also remembered us from our stay last year. With every trip he made down the stairs to the beach, he had a drink and a shooter for us. He was so prompt we had 6 shooters within an hour! -Lobby bartenders: Sorry we cannot remember your names, but everyone here was quick at making drinks and kept our drinks full when sitting at the bar -Leonel (Himitsu): Leonel remembered us from our previous stay, he brought us special drinks, his service was prompt, and he took time to chat with us -Giovani (Himitsu): Giovani was a very good server and always took the time to make sure we were okay and didn’t need anything -Luis (Bartender at Himitsu): We had to wait one night to get a table and Luis made the best drinks! He even went to the back to get a special alcohol for my fancy drink that wasn’t out on a normal basis! One thing my husband and I would like to see improve is proper food handling practices. Many times at the buffet (indoor and outdoor) utensils that had just touched raw meat would then be used to serve the cooked meat. This is what we assume led to my husband getting food poisoning the day we got home. Seeing a bit more variety at the buffets would be a nice addition as well. We still love this resort and plan to come back next year if circumstances allow!

Great resort!
Absolutely wonderful stay. I have no complaints. We were with my mother-in-law who walks with a walker and the accessibility of the facility was wonderful. The staff is incredibly helpful and responsive to any questions or needs we had. The buffet was as most buffets are expected to be. You can always find something to eat. The breakfasts were great. We did do the Italian a la carte as well as the ocean grill and they were both good meals
