    Missed the mark

Potential to be amazing not horrible just ok. They really need more staff to be able to function at the level Dreams claim to be. No such thing as Preferred guest I know they say everyone is but there are no real Preferred amenities or liquor. Open tables with two hour wait times, long wait for drinks, long wait for food after ordering (1.5 hours twice!)Not enough linens or table wear for number if guests(washing glasses in front of you to serve to you), no face clothes and usually no hand towels, hot food usually lukewarm. Japanese/sushi restaurant was the exception to all of this(great, fast hot food after two hour wait to be seated. Staff was very friendly through resort. Not even close enough number of chairs/umbrella as guest in site. Very little ocean to view from ocean view room. Loud meditation music starts ever day at 0700 at the pool (must be their alarm 🤦🏼‍♀️)

    Needs more chairs and towels

We were very disappointed with the availability beach chairs. There was plenty of beach..... But no chairs .... Or towels.... Half the day had NO towels for beach or pool. The staff was great, but they didn't have the tools they needed... People should not be allowed to leave a towel on the chair all day and never sit there

    Scorpion Queen

We checked out the reviews before we booked and most said great, I do not usually complain about our trips, firstly they say it was a five star resort, we had a swim out facing the pool area, which was nice but when it rained, the rain was coming down our walls, Which I didn’t notice until I had to get up in the middle of the night to use washroom and almost fell because floors where wet, 3rd day there, I got stung by a Scorpion from our swim out, it climbed into my bathing suit, while sitting in our swim out, got out, laid on our lounge and it started to sting me, I then had to pay a doctor to come to us because I lost all feeling in my legs and tongue and mouth to give me a anti venom shot, I do not remember them every cleaning our swim out, if they did, I don’t think this would have happened, the food in the buffet was about the best , we actually ate there most of the time, when it was opened ..we will never go back to Cozumel, not enough lounges on the beach either…the bartender at buffet lounge was also very Rude!!! We travel a lot , but will never return

    3.5 Star at best

Definitely not a star resort. I would say 3.5 at best. The rooms were nice And the ala cart resturant acceptable. The staff was by far the best aspect of this resort. They were always freindly & helpful. As with all Hyatt resorts not having to prebook times for the ala cart returants is great. The food at the ala cart returants was good & the variety was acceptable for most everyone. Far too few loungers on the beach & at the pool. Everyone we talked to identified this as an major issue. There were small things that took away from the resort experience. Bits of garbage were in the stair ways for days on end. Elevator not working some times. Lack of a place to sit & enjoy an evening or afternoon bevrage as most af the areas with tables & chairs were used for the resuraunts. Snorkelling in front of the hotel was quite good but bring water shoes as the bottom is quite rocky. One major issue for me was being passed off to a sales rep within minutes af having arrived at the resort. The rep promised vouchers for jeep rentals, wines etc. if we would spenf hours touring the resorts so they could show us why we should come back. TIME SHARE sales. They say its not but, ya it is. Also the shuttel company, NEXUS, wanted us to attend an "information session on the first full day we were there so they could ensure we were set up for our return shuttle for our departure. Nothing but a gimic to sell you excursion packages that are more expensive. Absoultey no value for waisting you percious vaction time. Lastly if you are a smoker, you had to leave the property to smoke. While I'm not a smoker my wife is & having to stand on the road in fron of the resort was pretty sad. Their sister reorts Sunscape & Secrets had areas set up for smokers so why not Dreams. All the issues were management issues, The serving & cleaning staff were great. Long & short, we won't be going back.

    Get it together Dreams

This is one of the most unorganized all inclusive hotels I have ever stayed at. We walked in and no one acknowledged we were even there. After finally getting helped, a gentleman told us about our $200 in coupons we could use at the resort and tried to rent us a jeep for $120 for one day. The bell hop walked us to our room and provided us more information than anyone. I have read many reviews about the food at this resort being mediocre at best. They state certain restaurants have dress codes but they certainly do not enforce them. We dressed accordingly (collared shirts, closed toe shoes, etc) and sit next to people in swim suits or gym shorts and flip flops with tank tops. This is by far the worst all inclusive resort we have have been to.(10 plus) One day they do not provide butter and the next day the have it. The food was bland with no flavor. This resort advertises a dive shop. I went to look at the very nice dive pool. Crystal clear and 12 foot deep. I went into the lobby and asked what time the dive shop opened and the gentleman in the lobby said it is open right now and it is right around the corner. Well after walking around the corner, there was no dive shop. Again I return the next day to the lobby and yet another employee says, “oh we don’t have a dive shop, you have we go next door to Sunscape.” Off we go to Sunscape and ask if they would assist us with diving in the dive pool at Dreams. The gentleman at the dive shop said no, we can help you for 5-6 mins in the ocean for free and that’s it. Well as we leave today, a young couple with someone from the dive shop was about to enter the dive pool at Dreams. This was one of the most costly all inclusive resorts we have been to and was not worth the money. A special thanks to Margarito, the server at the pool, he was amazing and made sure we were fed and hydrated each day! That’s once you found chairs because for the size of the resort, there are about 25 chairs each at the pool and beach. Some days they enforce chairs not being reserved or used for 30 minutes and other days chair sit with towels in them for hours unattended.
