Divi is all about money not customer satisfaction
Divi has issues with maintaining the units. The same defects are there year to year, weather its a gate that doesn't work or a roof top grill. They buy the cheapest. Dresser draws broken and stick when opened and closed, missing kitchen utensils, etc. The maid service to make the beds is 100 a week extra, they just take out garbage and give you towels, thats it. The extra taxes they hit you with are as follows: energy surcharge 14.83 a day environmental levy 15.00 a day and others incidentals so if your there for a week expect to spend 298.55 for the week extra! If your checking in on a Saturday good luck, your in the lobby for hours waiting for your room if they can find your reservation or have the correct info. Usually we check into the same room every year and there always an issue. The lines to check in are lengthy so get there late after the crowds are gone. The internet is horrendous, non existent at times. The drinks at the pool bar are expensive and your usually waiting if its crowded. The bar tenders get pissed and make you wait if you don't tip them. I would strongly advise not to patronize Divi Dan L
Why is this resort rated 4/5?!
First, I want to say my family and I travel to an all inclusive every year (we have been to 7 different resorts). This year we used a travel agent. I usually utilize bookit to make arrangements and leave a review through their site. We did have a wonderful vacation but this was by far the most disappointing. Some things were okay but it is no way a 4/5. POSITIVES- location in relation to the beach/shopping, our kids loved the slide, the infinity pool is beautiful, infinity pool bartenders (Robert, terrace, Enrique) did an excellent job (fun and personable), the staff operating the shuttles were also very friendly/upbeat/and smiling, front desk staff very friendly, elizabet at the sea breeze also very lovely. Yaldo at the Red Parrot was the most amazing. If everyone were as wonderful as him the resort would be 5 star. NEGTIVES- Most of the rest of the staff not noted above did not go out of their way to smile, say hello, or acknowledge your presence. My mother and I visited the spa and do usually book services when in vacation but no one even said hello or made eye contact with us. We browsed the testers and left after about 5 minutes. No one said a word to us. The same was true for the buffet at both Divi and Tamarijn. Every morning we ate breakfast there, I walked to get my own tea at the service station. None of the dining attendants smiled or said good morning the entire week. I also witnessed used forks being wiped tableside, then used to reset the table. Food was decent, not fantastic. Dishes were often dirty at the buffets at both locations. There was also an incident at the pool. A chair had broke. I placed it on its side so no one else would sit on it and injure themselves. When exchanging towels my mother told the woman about it. She held her hands in the air as if “what am I supposed to do with it”. My mom reiterated that the chair was dangerous and someone could get hurt on it. The pool attendants response was , what is your room number (which they required for towel exchange). I’ve attached her picture to this review, didn’t catch her name. Nothing was done with the chair until the following day. It sat on its side all evening and is probably still broken. All of the cups and dishes typically remained pool side all day long, no staff cleaned these up regularly. The resort could be cleaner- the sliding glass door handles had not been cleaned in some time. There were spills on my steps and my mother’s hallway that were there for the entire week. I’m sure the dirt is still at the top of 2317. WHAT IVE EXPERIENCED aT OTHER RESORTS THAT DIVI LACKS- Towels and refreshments at check in after traveling all day, more activities that are already included (I didn’t pay thousands of dollars to pay to play bingo, or attend a class at the gym), pool side service (someone to walk around and ask if you would like a drink or simply smile and say hello. This is the first resort I’ve been to that has not had a fun/friendly entertainment staff. They had water balloon toss and trivia on the “schedule”, but it didn’t happen unless the guests asked for it. Where was the staff coming around and engaging with guests to have fun. Overall staff just wasn’t friendly, just a small percentage that were listed above. I hope the resort reads this and makes some adjustments, there is a lot of room for opportunity. I’m not usually one to complain and didn’t while I was there but we definitely have visited more fantastic resorts for less money.
Not up to Disney or RCI standards
Room was moldy this is the second time we have experienced this at this resort. Going on vacation should be enjoyable and a refreshing experience, Things happen and sometimes expectations are not met for many different reasons, but customer service should be there to help with these issues. We have come to expect the class of service, room and amenities, and friendly service we have seen at Disney and thru other RCI trips.
2nd visit - disappointed
This is our second visit to the Divi Golf and Beach in the past two years, and unfortunately, both times we’ve been disappointed. We’ve gotten ground floor studio units in similar locations. On both visits our units had a very moldy, musty odor. This unit has seen better days. We will not book here again. The staff are very friendly and courteous, The pool is nice as well.

Now as far as the rest of the resort , The entire staff was always kind & courteous.. there is an infinity pool with a Dj, drinks & food right on the premises, 2 beautiful restaurants ( Mulligan's etc.. ) with an Amazing panoramic view and the beautiful beach is right across the street , and for all U golfers out there U are surrounded by a very beautiful & maintained Golfing course 🙂🙂 , Another thing to mention is that town is not far away & ur access to all the fun night life is but a short cab ride away.
