Our staycation Resort
We love it here so much that we got married here, stay over on certain weekends here and go to the beach and or pools ever so often. The staff are so used to our family and our son Tony is affectionately known there and loved. The kids ask every single month if they can go to the Hotel that we actually told them we would remodel the house to a mini Divi Hotel room and pool...hahaha (Go figure) all in all we love it there yes.
Check in disappointment.
I own 2 weeks at the Divi and would always prefer to give a great review. Unfortunately I can’t. My wife and I arrived October 12 at 12:30 to the resort. Check in is not until 4PM, so we weren’t surprised to have to wait, we’ve been coming for about 15 years. Well we left our luggage with the bell staff and went out for awhile. Upon returning to the resort around 2:30 we checked on the room and was told about another hour. We checked back at 3:30 and then 4:15. We got to the room at 4:30 and found the maid just leaving. Well we found, no wash cloths, no dish cloths, just 2 hand towels (unit has 2 bathrooms) no paper towels, no dish soap or pot holders. After speaking with some of the staff, that we know, we were told that management will not order enough supplies.
Divi Little Bay Beach Resort at St. Martin is the place to relax, party and unwind...clear ones' mind
Divi Little Bay Beach Resort at St. Martin is the place to relax, party and unwind...clear ones' mind. I will be back! I had a wonderful time at Divi Little Bay Beach Resort in St. Martin for my renewal of my Sologamy Wedding vows ceremony and honeymoon on the beach! It was a beautiful solo ceremony. The vacation I had...the things I did... the food I ate...the drinks I drank...the people I met and the things I learned made it all worth my while and effort to travel there all the way from Worcester, MA!.
Beautiful location, resort a 3.5 stars
I wish you could give 1/2 stars on these reviews bc I would rate it a 3.5, definitely better than average but just missed the very good mark. My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights on vacation. We are frequent travelers and my husband is a platinum Marriott Rewards member so we typically stay at Marriott properties. This property definitely was not a full-service, 5 star resort, but it was comfortable and did have some areas that were really great. With a little more attention spent on customer service, housekeeping, and grounds maintenance, this place could really shine. Here’s our experience, the good and the bad. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite way way up the hill. The view from our balcony was spectacular! Our room, although dark and lacking in decor, was comfortable. It did smell musty but seemed to Pget better (or I got used to it) as the week progressed. The kitchen was fully stocked with Dishware and utensils. A/c worked awesome and the location of our room was very quiet. The bedroom definitely needs blackout shades. There were blinds on the window but there was an outside light shining in every night, and we had to be creative and hang up beach towels to block the light. Housekeeping service was very unpredictable. One day we ran out of towels and I had to call the front desk multiple times. One time we ran out of toilet paper. One day housekeeping never showed up to our room until 7pm after we called the front desk. Another day they didn’t show up til after 8 pm after we had called the front desk hours earlier. Once someone did eventually show, they did a great job, but you were just never sure when or if they would show. Maybe they are short of staff... I don’t know what the issue is. Beach towels are limited. You only get one per person. The beach is great though, plenty of chairs and umbrellas to go around. You don’t have to get up early and stake out a chair. there were always plenty. The infinity pool Is a hidden gem. One of my favorite spots on the property. The staff was...interesting. Some staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Xavier, Paul, Elvis were all great. Minerva from the Shack was a sweetheart. The woman in the Amsterdam coffee shop was always smiling. My massage therapist Vickie was wonderful. But, the concierge staff were all miserable, as were some of the other resort staff. Bad moods, unwelcoming, not friendly at all! We did not get a warm welcoming feeling and since you meet with concierge at check in, it does not make for a good first impression... Gizmo the hotel parrot always made me smile! What a beautiful bird! He was so much fun to watch. The food at the resort was a highlight - really good! We had breakfast included with our stay and the breakfast buffet was always good. Gizmo’s bar and grill makes a surprisingly decent pizza. The Shack makes awesome jerk wings, chicken and ribs. The food was great at all of the restaurants on property. We never felt like we had to leave the resort to find good dining. The market on the property was also well-stocked with almost anything you would need and the prices weren’t bad. The resort grounds needed upkeep and landscaping. The grass needed mowing, areas needed weeding/pruning. Not. Great first impression. Although, after 6 days at the resort, we did see a landscaping crew which did a nice job mowing the very tall grass. In matters is cleanliness, there was some trash on parts of the beach. As I stated before, our room smelled very musty and was a turn off at first. Maybe the air vents need cleaning or there is a mold issue that needs to be in addressed. The spa was very relaxing, clean and professional. My massage therapist, Vickie, was great. And I loved the complimentary champagne and foot bath while waiting for my treatment. That was a nice touch. Lastly, your bill. Look over your bill carefully! We were incorrectly charged $205 for some sort of “complimentary service” that we did not have or order. Overall, If you aren’t looking to be catered to during your stay and if you are pretty self sufficient, the resort is quiet, comfortable with a great location and beautiful beach. If you’re looking for a high end resort with an attentive staff this is not the place for you. Would we come back? Probably not. There are many more beautiful locations in the world to explore with a more welcoming atmosphere.
Relaxing trip with my sister with lots of sunshine and beautiful water
This was my second time to Divi but the first time for my sister. It was a great place to meet each other as we live on opposite sides of the country. Everything was extremely clean. The water was warm and such a pretty blue. We also enjoyed the variety of clean and beautiful pools. There were always plenty of sun loungers with umbrellas on the beach or around the pools. We especially loved the water aerobics class with Tony as well as the yoga classes with Lisa. I also enjoyed walking up to Ft. Amsterdam each morning. We enjoyed a meal from The Shack (although beware of the spiciness of the Jerk Chicken or Shrimp), had a great salad and a wrap from the Ft. Amsterdam Cafe, and splurged with a a nice poolside lunch at the Seabreeze Restaurant. We enjoyed eating breakfast on our porch each morning and watching the cruise ships dock. We had fun on an island tour on Tuesday. While in Marigot, I ordered a meal of goat curry from the open-air restaurant Rosemary and then ran off to find the vegetable vendor. All the guests at Divi seemed very happy and friendly; many were annual visitors. We definitely liked not having to listen to jet skis or other people's music.
