Destination Wedding 2019
My destination wedding was at this Resort this past May (2019) and it was wonderful, I would recommend anyone planning a destination wedding to consider this resort. The off site wedding coordinator Sarai was wonderful, pleasant, very helpful through out the whole planning process up until you travel to the resort, she made sure every detail was in place. My wedding party was kind of big, ended up being 50 guest, one of the major problems I had was with Nicole aka Nikki who books the rooms for guest. I had complaints from multiple guest that they were charged the wrong price, wrong room (because there is not a big difference in price for the different rooms, many guest just kept the room they were charged for) or they received confirmation emails that were for other attending guest. I complained multiple times and up until the final payments of the trip I still received complaints from guest. I tried to contact the supervisor Trish, we continued to miss each other calls, after multiple calls I decided to leave a lengthy message. Her response was she spoke with Nikki and per Nikki there was no known problem or situation (Nikki was emailed on multiple occasions) as stated above there were problems until the last payments so she was no help. I finally spoke to Nikki at one point she was very pleasant and apologetic. IMO I would recommend that more than one person should book the rooms for large wedding parties, in the end I just think it was to much for one person to handle. On the actual resort you will have on-site wedding coordinators Barbara and Onita and again just wonderful, accommodating, they go over every detail with you making sure everything goes perfect for your big day. All the staff was wonderful, rooms clean, premium liquor and all my guest loved the Jerk Hut, the food was really good, Maurice and the staff there were great. Everything was beautiful the day of the wedding everything I wanted and expected, but nothing is ever perfect. I did the platinum wedding package with includes the DJ, I recommend if you are able to afford to, bring your own DJ. So the days leading up to the wedding the resort's DJs were more young and in tune with today's music at least the top 40. A month before my wedding I emailed a list of songs I wanted played during the reception. During the reception while food was being served music that was not on our list was played, this was not the type of music my guest, husband or myself listen to, actually most of our music list was music we had guest write down that they would like to hear during the reception. It got to the point where my husband got very upset and I asked Barbara to have the DJ start playing music from our list. IMO I hope not to offend anyone but the DJ was a bit older to me looked to be in his late 50's, I feel that he wanted to play slow, mellow music during that part of the reception, which I understand, however I had plenty of slow music on the list but because of the age difference (I'm 34) maybe majority of the songs he did not know and wasn't sure what was slow and what songs were upbeat. Even after Barbara spoke with him nothing changed, I had many guest complain asking "what's up with the DJ", I even went up to the DJ booth and made sure he had our list and it was right in front of him! When he finally started to play our music it was because our best man stayed at the DJ booth, coached him and picked out what songs to play. In the end we had a great time, everyone got on the dance floor and had fun, but I was very disappointed with the DJ appointed for our wedding reception. The best part of the wedding is the reception, everyone looks forward to great food, good liquor and great music and that last part they dropped the ball. Lastly, I did use the photographer from the resort, the pictures came out very nice, Kendall and his team did a great job taking us around the resort to get the best back drops and photo-ops. We really enjoyed ourselves, all my guest had a great time and said this trip was one of the best. My husband and I do plan on returning for our anniversity
Amazing Family Vacation!!
We had a wonderful trip to Coconut Bay Resort. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. I did see what people were saying about the seaweed at the beach. It is true, but the pools are so nice at the resort, so this didn't bother us too much. All the pools are amazing and there are plenty of chairs throughout the resort. The drinks are top Notch! special thanks to some of the bartenders Natasha, Natalie, Ted and Kori. I also see what people were saying about the staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurants are great, and they also have fast food by the pool good for snacks midday. There were fun shows and entertainment at night. We also loved the massages at the spa. The rooms are adequate. Not tremendous but I thought we had enough storage space. they could use a bit of updating, but not terrible. We traveled with our 19 and 22 year olds and they also had a great time. We stayed on the Harmony side. Don't miss the Harmony Breakfast at the Veranda, it is amazing! I also highly recommend doing the mud bath excursion and the waterfall. That was a great trip, but a bit of a ride to the other side. Be prepared if you get carsick because the roads are very windy. Also great about the resort is that it is only 5 minutes from the airport! Thanks to Jervonnie and the others who are there to greet you with a drink when you arrive! Overall great family trip! We would return.
Wonderful Time!!! Staff was Amazing!!!
We had an amazing time. From the moment I got settled in the resort I was treated wonderfully by staff- Sam and I.G . They made me feel so comfortable and at home. I truly appreciated the way they kept me informed about all the fun events happening on the resort. I can't say enough about Sam and I.G.- JUST BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, from the beginning or our trip even until the last day. The food was amazing especially Jerk Treehouse- Marvuis not only made great tasting Caribbean food but had a great personality every time we ate their and we made certain to eat there as much as we could during our time. We had a wonderful tour around St. Lucia by our tour guide. Overall, we both enjoyed the amenities at the resort. Great vacation!!!
Wonderful family vacation at Coconut Bay
My wife, kids (aged 9 and 13) and I spent a week at Coconut Bay. Just saying we had a wonderful time is an understatement. The following comments were written by our daughter: "the entertainment staff, Zora, Kathy, Kylah and Emma made us feel as if we were family, as they took their to got to know us and spend time with us in the lounge with the dance offs, sing alongs and pool matches which resulted in late pizza trips at the amazing flip flops restaurant. as the staff saw our faces, they automatically knew what we wanted to eat". We chose the resort based on feedback from our friends and proximity to the airport and were very satisfied with all aspects of our stay. We had no delays with Airport transfers and it is literally a five minute drive to the resort. Check in was a breeze and the front desk staff was quite friendly and welcoming. We had no issues with our room and it was just what we requested. The resort had different themed nights during our stay and each experience was uniquely amazing. Christa at the beach bar kept us well "hydrated" during our visit. I highly recommend relaxing by the beach. Food and drinks were always available and the menu's catered to all our needs. Dinner at Calabash was absolutely delicious, We also dined at Silk. This is more of an Asian experience and the kids did not enjoy this selection quite as much but for the folks who love an Asian experience this is sure to deliver. The rest of our meals were either at the Main buffet, the Jerk Bar or Flip Flops and we have no complaints. One point to note is that if dining with children you'll be restricted to a particular seating time that may restrict the actual time you dine at the A La Carte restaurants. If you don't mind an early dinner you'll be fine. Our reservations were at 6 and 630 which worked out fine. Special mention to Muhammud, Brad, Lucas at Coconut Walk as well as the staff at Flip Flops for their wonderful service that gave our stay that additional welcoming feeling. You all made our stay truly enjoyable. We had a great time at Coconut Bay and will definitely recommend this resort to anyone visiting St Lucia.
Excellect staff, food and entertainment - poor hotel room
Flew in with British Airways from UK to be advised, on the flight, only need one immigration form per family. At immigration we were told each person needs a form! so beware. Hotel only 2 minutes from airport, its that close. Greeted with drinks, checked in and went to our room. Booked Deluxe Sea View in Splash, room looked tired and during our stay we found the fridge needed a good defrost, also shelf missing, the plug to the sink didn't work and the water slow to drain, the shower tray had scale which needed a good scrub, the door to balcony didn't lock, and trying to close it was so stiff. Called reception twice re plug and door but it was still the same. The staff are excellent, very helpful, always smiling and always offering to help. The food is excellent too with buffet area which you were quickly seated. Also, a number of restaurants to book for waiter/tress service. The chicken shack has thumbs up from us. The beach is sandy with hammocks in the water and a nice beach bar on the left hand side, yes seaweed is about but they also spend a lot of the day clearing it away. Iron and ironing board in room also hairdryer, bottled water left daily, ample sun beds all day. If the owners put a bit of money into the hotel it would be a great place to stay and excellent holiday so come on owners, your staff cant carry you for too long... - so only 4 stars are given as they need to update the rooms... but everything else is excellent and would definitely revisit after an update.
