3 time visitor. Hoping for 4th
From Nov 2nd to Nov 9th we came to Harmony for the 3rd consecutive year, the same week. We have so much fun while there, with friends we have met there, who are also repeat guests as well. From the start with Nahid at the front concierge desk, to Mary at the egg station, Virginia our housekeeper, to of course “Big Ted “ in food services always getting my cold glass of milk for breakfast. He was the 1st person we met 3 years ago. We love these people as they seem to genuinely care about us being back. The resort has seen some love since last year. Well done. Lastly. The atmosphere at the Harmony pool bar is outstanding. Largest cause for the enjoyment is due to the “legend” Dillan and his partners Kensha and Kori . The odd appearance by Mitch just adds to the constant laughter. (Kensha even convincing me to sing her favourite Country song at karaoke) When Dillan can’t get out from behind the bar fast enough upon our arrival to welcome us back, shows one of the 2 reasons we really return. The other is the lifelong friends we have met there, and return once a year together to laugh, drink and eat in large quantities. Will be back the 1st week in November 2020 for more of the same. We (4 adults in our late 50s) stayed at Coconut Bay from Nov. 2-9 and had a great time. It was so hard to leave and return to reality, and cold weather. There were a few reasons why I did not give it 5 stars, but it did not take away from our vacation. First, although the lobby is open and airy with comfortable sitting areas, I don't think it was as pretty as some of the lobbies at other AIs I have stayed at previously. Also, our room in Splash was a good size, but worn and could use some updating. Again, neither issue significantly took away from our relaxing vacation. The resort is very clean with very nice pools. We spent most of our time relaxing at the Harmony (adult only) pools. Although the only swim-up bar is at the family pool (a little odd), there are bars near the other pools to satisfy our needs for some yummy drinks. Check out Vernon's aquacise classes in the activity pool. He does a great class! Whenever we would run into him throughout the resort, he greeted us with a great smile. Take the time to walk down Paradise Beach. There are some hammocks in the water and lounge chairs on the beach to relax. Make sure to stop at the bar on the beach and say hi to our friend Merhan. He is awesome! He is friendly and fun. We had so much fun with him that he sought us out when leaving from his last shift before we were leaving. Say hi to him from Phil and Bruce! Thanks to Ketra, who kept our room clean and left us daily notes. She always had a pleasant smile for us. The food was good at each place we tried (remember it is a resort, not a 5 star restaurant). The buffet is plentiful and everyone is very helpful. Enjoy the omelette bar and tell Mary D. what you want. (Mary is a busy lady, but I will say she is not thrilled with too many requests). Ice cream is high on my list and so I made a point to visit Laura often, :). She always had a friendly smile and served exactly what I wanted. A special mention to Nivia, who was kind enough to save me some cinnamon buns before they ran out and find me in the dining room. We also enjoyed Calabash, Silk and Veranda. All were delicious! Also, don't forget to find out when the special buffet dinners are and enjoy! Also want to send a shout out to Ashley at the boutique. He was very friendly and helpful. He even shared his recipe for hot chocolate. We enjoyed our days relaxing at the pools. It was just what we needed. We did take one day to do a land tour of the island- mud baths, shopping, lunch and seeing the sites. Kerry (from Nerv's cars) did our tour and was great. I will say that we ran into a lot of repeat visitors, so obviously people are happy. There were many times I saw someone go up to a staff member on their arrival or departure and got a happy "Welcome back" or "See you again soon". Make a reservation and go for some R & R!
A home away from home...
It is hard to put into words about how much I loved this resort, but I shall try. I stayed for 10 nights at the beginning of November with a couple of friends and came away not wanting to leave. I have been to a few Caribbean Islands now and St Lucia is certainly a favourite, so many things to do and see. Coconut Bay is literally less than a 5 minute drive from Hewannora Airport, which is excellent when you have just had a 9 hour flight. The only one downside (if you can call it that) is that the resort is on the Atlantic side of the Island which brings with it a fair bit of seaweed (and can also be quite windy). But the resort more than makes up for that with the amazing facilities that they have (and a great guy in a tractor whom tries to clear the seaweed from the sand). We stayed in the splash side of the hotel and the room was very nice, comfortable and well maintained. The resort is very big but within a few days, easy to navigate. There are many pools available, and it was nice to go to the Harmony side where it is adults only... (loved the tiki bar 😊), but then splash side is also amazing with the swim up bar and the lazy river (so fab) to name a few. The food was second to none. There are 4 restaurants on offer (where you have to make a reservation which is easy enough to do) and the main buffet restaurant. The buffet restaurant had so much to offer, Emme at the Mamma Mia’s station cooked up lots of amazing food. Plus we went to Vernada for breakfast a few times, which is such a gem and lovely to have breakfast outside watching the view. The entertainment on offer was fab, being such a family orientated resort, there was something for everyone. Big highlights where nights such as the Country and Western and Reggae nights (food outside with entertainment, what more could you ask for?). On Fridays there is a foam party in splash pool with DJ and the atmosphere was so great, so much fun. The highlight for me though was the full moon party. On the 12th of every month they have shuttle buses to ‘Shutter Beach’ a couple of minutes away and have a beach party. It was amazing, a definite highlight for me and my friends. So glad we were at the resort when we were to experience the party. Last but certainly not the least, the staff. The staff are what make this resort. They are so friendly and welcoming and treat you as though you are apart of the Cbay family. Big shout out to Latoya in the lounge bar with her flashy tray. She has such a contagious smile and was so very attentive. Troy and his fabulous cocktail making skills and as a friend has already pointed out, to Kenesha and Dillian for handling such an unruly bunch of guests at the Harmony bar and pool at the beginning of the week. They were calm even when the guests were vile to them, they are a credit to the resort. In all, I had an AMAZING holiday and can’t wait to come back. 😊🙌🏻🌴☀️🌋
