Mar 16, 2025Terrible Terrible experience at the Catalonia Grand Costa Mujeres
The resort was supposed to be a 4 Diamond Resort. One of the beds had questionable stains on them when we checked in. There was sand in the room for most days even after specifically asking for it to be cleaned. One water bottle was broken and a shard of glass ran into my finger. fans were noisy. Toilet did not flush properly and had to be held down until it worked fully. There was a cockroach in one of their ‘fine-dining’ restaurants (Ayami) which landed on us. The resort is supposed to be no smoking, when I found several guests smoking/vaping in the common areas. And the worst was even before I landed at the resort. I’d originally booked the room through the hotel’s website, which was cancelled very close to my travel dates. Found out about it when I’d sent an email to confirm my reservation (and thank god I wrote to them). When the hotel staff invited me to their Exclusive membership sales pitch, I’d mentioned the experience and the hotel staff were keen in force selling a membership package rather than address concerns. They also kept saying they’d have given better pricing than Sunwing, which I wouldn’t have if the original booking wasn’t cancelled. The only reason we stayed at this resort after the horrible start was because of a promise I’d made to my family to go there. NEVER AGAIN!!

This trip was amazing!! Had so much fun with all my friends. Fabricio was the best, so friendly and fun. Really made our experience great. We recommend this to anyone. We felt so safe and it was so clean and the staff was great. It’s beautiful every where and the room service was great

Great entertainment crew
Fabrisio was amazing and made our trip so fun. He mad the activities so much fun and was a joy to be around. The hotel had amazing staff and food. I would definitely come back and recommend it to family and friends. We had so much fun and can't wait to visit again

Vacation in March 2025
Fabricio is the best entertainment staff I have ever experienced!!! We love him so much♥️♥️ he is always welcoming, friendly ,and is willing to play our music, intrigue us to participate in the activities and music events. He should be promoted to the best staff member of the year! We loved our room, staff, bars, drinks, and people we were surrounded by!! Thank you so much for the special stay with so many memories!!!

First international trip in Mexico
The wait staff was the best. Very courteous and very friendly. Naz and White Ross were the absolute best and very funny and humorous. Alejandro in Players was a blast as well. Luis in Ayami did his best impression with Asian dishes. Alejandro in Beloved was very courteous, friendly and kept the double espresso shots coming.
