A Highlight of Hilo
By all means choose an upper floor room on the bay side. The panoramic views of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea in the background, the city curving around the Bay, and Coconut Island in front are classic. The rooms and beds are comfortable, the staff exudes aloha, and the Friday Seafood Buffet is a great meal. This was our second visit, and not our last.
Hotel and room were amazing, views spectacular and staff were so helpful and accommodating. Location was great and was fun checking out the named trees on Banyan Dr. The only reason I am not giving the hotel a 5 out of 5 is because of the extras that were lacking. Needed three beds and couch was not a pull out so was brought a cot-which should be thrown out was all Springs and no mattress support, suggestion- investing new cots. Also asked for extra luggage stand and that was a challenge. Was told they had to search for an extra and the one we received looked ancient. All in all though would highly recommend Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, we loved our stay. Book ocean view!
This is our third or fourth stay..either for business or pleasure. Love the aloha spirit, location and food. Great rooms and views, plus the price is right. The cafe has excellent food and convenient.
