Customer Ratings & Reviews

Have stayed multiple times and generally like the hotel - mostly because I like the location and view of the bay and Mauna Kea. Was highly disappointed at the $30/night extra charge for an oceanside room. The hotel was pretty empty, I was traveling on state work, alone, and offered to pay the $30 split over my two night stay. Still answered was no. Also, the $20/day 'resort fee' is somewhat laughable. For what amenities? Sad to say I will be looking for a Bed and Breakfast future interisland trips.
Happy we chose the Hilo Hawaiian
The room was super clean, very spacious, with a calming treetop view. The staff was friendly and helpful. Nice pool, easy parking. Location: Perfect, especially for walking along the shore! Would stay there again and again.
Comfortable place to explore the Hilo region
When people tell you it always rains in Hilo, don't believe them. Sure, it rains. But, as we experienced, you'll have a fair amount of blue sky there as well. This turned the view from our room into something amazing. And so, with an aweful view, a spacious room, comfortable beds, all facilities needed and a superb Friday buffet, we very much enjoyed our stay in the pleasant Castle Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. A big mahalo to hotel and restaurant staff for their great work.
our stay at this hotel was an amazing experience. my family loved every single minute spent at this hotel. the staff was very friendly and the hotel is in a very convenient location. if we ever go back to Hilo, this hotel will be our first choice.
Great location on the bay
Nice hotel with great views of the bay and Coconut Island. Easy parking with access to all the surrounding parks. Several restaurants within walking distance too. Would choose it again on a future trip to Hilo.
