    Worst hotel ever!!!

If I could give this Hotel a zero I would. This has got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I prepaid for my room months before visiting, cost me $3200 for a week. After I checked in they asked for a credit card to keep on file in case I charged anything to the room, which is understanding, didn't think it was a big deal. Then the hotel tried to charge my card random charges daily from $297 to $471 per day when we paid cash for everything. When we asked them why they were charging these charges they could not explain why they were charging these charges and the staff kept trying to blow us off when we asked about it. The Manager told me to report the charges as fraud and block the hotel which was a massive red flag. I had to cancel the card all together because they kept trying to charge it random amounts. Plus on top of the random charges the room they put us in was dirty and the wall paper was peeling off the walls. When we asked to change rooms they charged us an extra $300 to switch rooms. At the restaurant in the hotel all the plates and glasses had dried food on them and when we asked to get clean dishes it was like we were offending them. The pool had patches on the bottom where there were holes. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone to stay at.

    Very poor experience

Aloha, We are giving Hilo hawaiian hotel, hilo Hawaii 96720 a poor review due to not addressing issues that we had there with somebody trying to break into our room, Being harassed, unprofessional at the front desk, I’m trying to talk to Milton supposedly the front office manager with little respect. We told them that we will never stay at that hotel again.

    Very comfortable stay!

Overall, a very comfortable stay. My friend and I are Hawai'i residents, so we got the Kama'aina rate, which we got for $678 for 4 nights with resort fees waived. We stayed in room 337. The AC was strong, almost too strong! The room was *very* clean, especially the carpet. I felt perfectly comfortable walking around barefoot or with socks on. Honestly, being able to walk barefoot in the room was my favorite part of my stay here, since we all want to relax and kick off our shoes after a long day. The room had a balcony, and there isn't much of a view to speak of for rooms facing south. But views are not what we were here for, so just being able to relax on a balcony was good enough. The lobby was very spacious and clean. There's a little touch screen at the entrance that gives you some general information about the hotel and restaurants. Two computers are also in the lobby for guests to print out documents and whatnot. I did not use them, so I am not sure if guests are allowed to use them for general web surfing. When staying at the hotel, we were given one coupon per day for $10 off the in-hotel restaurant. Worked for both breakfast and dinner. We only went for breakfast once though, and it did not break the bank. I got the eggs benedict for $16. Nice view of the ocean too. Personal water bottles can be refilled from a water station right outside the hotel entrance. The power outlet that's on the bedside lamp was loose and did not work, which was a little disappointing. Thankfully there was another outlet near the foot of each bed. There's also an internet cable that you can plug in your personal laptops if you desire. The bath tub's soap rack was loose, but thankfully we did not need to use it. The shampoo and bath soap provided was adequate for 2 men, and housekeeping being done every other day meant we got it replenished a little before the soap ran out. There was wallpaper damage hidden behind the balcony curtains, but nothing that ruined the experience for me. The hotel is about a ten to fifteen minute walk away from restaurants, cafes, and snack shops that are located southeast. Otherwise you'll want to Uber/Lyft or rent a vehicle to get around Hilo.

Enjoyable stay on the ocean shore

Located on the ocean front it offers a nice view for the ocean facing rooms. However these rooms are 40$/night more expensive just for the view. The rooms are large and comfortable. The bad was very cosy and the mattress was soft. The bathroom has a very poor light. Just one set of toiletries for a couple (shampoo, blow dry wash and body cream). There is a guest laundry- that is very useful. Overall a good location and enjoyable staying.

    An OK stay in Hilo

Nice hotel with an atmosphere in the lobby area that fits what you would expect when you think Hawaiian resort. The guest rooms are slightly dated. The tub in our room had peeling paint in the bottom. The shower curtain was a thin cloth fabric that did nothing to keep water in the shower. This resulted in a 1/2” of water in the bath floor which created a very unsafe slippery situation.
