    Xhale VIP Members Ignored upon arrival. Service and Rooms Outdated with annoying Sounds

    Hello there, My wife and I requesting Full refund for our booked stay at Breathless Punta Cana Resort and Spa Xhale Club Junior Suite 7-17 thru 7-24 booked through Costco Travel. On the day of arrival, we had a terrible experience as this trip was booked specifically for my wife as a 7-19 Birthday celebration. On 7-17 the date of arrival, we arrival and was not greeted properly and was directed by outdoor front staff to go and wait in the cart for a driver. We were given towels but no welcome drink. We are avid Breathless, Secret and Dreams travelers. We have stayed in Breathless resorts in Los Cabos, 2x times in Cancun Breathless, Secrets in Cancun, Dreams in Cancun and Dreams in Costa Rica. All of our stays have been exceptional with none of issues that I will list below. After being directed in the golf cart and waiting a few minutes without knowing were exactly we were being taken, we were driven around to the back of the resort were we told by the golf cart driver that being taken to Xhale VIP section to check in. Once we arrived, we were directed to go inside and staff would meet us. However, that did not immediately happen as we were directed to have a seat and absolutely ignored for approximately 45 minutes without one person acknowledging us. We noticed during this time that a group of staff members (approximately 6-7) were gathered around the desk having what appeared to be a meeting. Again, we were not introduce nor did any staff offer us any drink or anything. After 45 minutes passed a person later known as a butler asked us was we being help and we answered no. This butler Emilio then left and scramble by looking for paperwork as those 6-7 staff members continued to have a discussion behind the desk. Approximately 15 minutes later the butler assigned us Room number 4215 and proceeded to escort us to our assigned room. When we reached and entered the room we immediately noticed that the room was extremely dated and damaged. Have attached multiple pictures to exhibit what our assigned room look like. We immediately ask butler Emilio for another room and he responded that all the other rooms are the same, even after pointed out all the damages and outdated issues. We asked if we could get a high quality room and he stated the Master Suite would be an additional charge. At that point, my wife ask to talk to the manager, however Emilio stated the manager is not available and that he would be the person to talk to. Between this time, we were without our luggage as when we were directed to get on the cart staff failed bring our luggage with us. We notified Emilio and and he said our luggage would be there within 15 minutes. However, approximately one hour passed without no luggage. At this point, my wife was extremely frustrated and saddened about all the issues thus far. Once our luggage did arrive we were hungry. At this point, we both got dress and decided to go to the Steak restaurant which was'nt open until 6:30. Once this restaurant open, we went there and had another terrible experience. We were seated and was greeted by an extreme rude waiter which I did not catch his name only his face. However, as we ordered he rolled his eyes looking from side to side as if he was not only disinterested in taking our order but did not want to be there. Even as we ordered, he questioned our order as if we were not allowed to order those dishes. Once food came out we were afraid to eat those dishes due to not only this waiter but others as they acted similar to his behavior. However, once the food did arrive the steak was cold and gummy and ribs were as if they were boiled. This was the ice breaker meaning we immediately left the restaurant back to our room and contacted our Travel agency Costco to book an airplane back to the states. Our Travel agency was unable to get us a flight out that night but only for the next day. So we were forced to stay overnight and check out at 10:20am. Upon check out we went to the lobby to request to speak to the manager and was refused a manage by Mario hostess and other multiple staff as they said the managers were in a meeting. We were escorted on the same cart and taken by to the Xhale and spoke with Haidee (who stated she was the supervisor). She has very little response to our issues but continued to text on the phone noting to us that she was talking with the manager. During this time Emilio (the butler approached) and began to tell us that would of done better to assist us if he could. Shortly thereafter, the manager Daniel ask us what was going on. We told him our experiences and listed above and only offered us an upgrade if we came back. We told him that we would never come back. At this point, we check out at 10:20 am hours and driven back up to the lobby and awaited for our Destination travel bus to arrive. We are REQUESTING full refund of our entire stay and only stayed overnight due to transportation arrangements. As all these issues were addressed on the same night of our issue night of arrival. I have attached pictures and videos of out room condition. These conditions are not advertised on online websites.

    Great experience

    I had such a great experience. Everyone was so pleasant from the time we arrived to the minute we were leaving. I love how friendly all the staff was but my best encounter was with Ricardo Sànchez he was exceptional assisting me. He provided me with the best customer service I have ever received. Can't wait to come back and visit!

    Great birthday trip!

    Just got back from celebrating my 40th birthday with a group of friends. We had a great time! It was the perfect balance of partying and relaxation. Stayed in an Xhale level room, and it was well worth the extra money. The room was basic, but nice and large. Loved the Xhale Lounge…they had the best espresso martinis! Never had a problem finding a chair by the pool or a palapa on the Xhale beach. Abraham was our concierge, and he was awesome. He helped us with anything we needed/wanted, he made sure any issues were addressed and quickly fixed, and he made our friend’s birthday special by decorating her room and setting up a special dinner with cake. I already miss him! Ilaria in the Xhale restaurant was great, always had a smile and set up an amazing Dominican lunch for us. Andrea on the Xhale beach made sure our drinks were always full and even lugged a big thing of water on ice across the sand to us. The Xhale rooms are further away from the party area and very quiet, also very convenient to beach, pools, and restaurants. There were only two negatives. The checkin process was extremely annoying and took several hours. Also, our air conditioner never worked right, and everything in our room was damp and it never got cool enough. If you stay here, take Damp Rid to hang up. Despite that, we really enjoyed our trip and would definitely return!
