We had the most wonderful experience with the all inclusive package for 7 nights. Our housekeeper Tiffany was wonderful! The front desk was great! All of the staff were great people and made us feel at home. Vernita was amazing and helpful as well as her daughter! The food... I have never been so stuffed in my life! Amazing dishes! Excellent! The drinks were great! And all of the selections 😁 The bartenders were great! The establishment is beautiful! The groundskeepers were nice and very busy. We watched Sapphire work wonders around everyone even though we had no encounters with her, she hustled! Now the Heavenly Days crew, Z and his gals were so much fun!!! We suggest every cruise with them. Chris & Heather Tomlinson
St. Thomas Bolongo Beach Resort, family owned/operated
For as many years as I've lived on St. Thomas (13 and counting), Bolongo Beach Resort has always the property that I recommend to potential island visitors. It is family-owned and operated by the Doumeng family and caring, friendly staff. I wholeheartedly recommend this property for your stay, whether you are solo, group or family. Tell them Priscilla Lynn recommended them to you.
Thanks Bolongo family for making our trip great. This was our first time back after the storms and we so enjoyed our visit. As always the staff at Bolongo was great. If you are looking for a place to stay that gives the feeling that they care and treat you as family this is the place to stay. Nothing fancy, just clean and comfy with great people. This is a locally owned business that took care of their folks after the storms so please support them. If you can't stay here at least come visit Iggie's for dinner and meet the great people. The only drawback is that it is rocky entering the water so be expecting that. That said the beach is well kept (even with all the seaweed floating in this year, great job guys!!), and Megan's Bay and other iconic beaches are only a short ride away.
Probably won't return
I had really had high hopes for this trip. For the money spent on our group we could of just booked a cruise. Food is good but repetitive. No other food options near by and the Breakfast is better. Bring your own coffee if you crave Expresso type coffee. It's served watered down and lukewarm. Alcoholic beverages all watered down. Don't order drinks made via blender they taste like virgin drinks. St John alcoholic drinks are waaaayyyyyyy better. Tables are always sticky or maybe it's just grime. The rooms are clean but the shower is the devil. It's small and it made washing a child's sandy head difficult. If you have a baby you will need extra hands. If you're a big girl like me you won't fit and there will always be a pond of water waiting for u once your done showering. The pool is never crowded but the drowned bugs are of plenty. As far as staff, the waiters are okay. Some seem grumpy and bothered that on our last day one was speaking over me which was rude if I'm answering questions and some really engaged in a conversation with us. Albert was great, the youngest of the staff with the glasses and another tall lady we're great. Sam, Leonard? and the securities we're great as well. They really helped us around the island. Again I'll either return via cruise or just stay in St John. St Thomas is outdated for me. I completely understand they we're hit by 2 hurricanes but i believe Puerto Rico was more damaged and looks better based on different friends vacation pictures and it looks freaking awesome.
Great relaxing vacation
Had a wonderful time here! Stayed 5 nights! Safe clean hotel with great views! People are genuinely friendly and helpful. Food for an all-inclusive was great and plentiful. Sure the rooms are a little outdated- standard hotel room but the beds were comfortable and slept well every nite. Very small shower is only complaint about the room .There was a small fridge and coffee maker .( It would have been nice however to have early coffee available by the restaurant for us early risers, a half hour or so before the breakfast opened ) /Small property and so not a lot of room to walk around after dinner. The resort is low key and the atmosphere is casual and so enjoyed no real dress up for dinner . Sunset sail with Capt Z was great! Sunday/Funday with other captain was not as fun and entertaining- too long a day on the boat and miscommunication about no provided snacks- left us off at Water Island and a few of us did not know to bring $ for lunch. Only real disappointment with the property was the beach. I knew it was going to be rocky, and was prepared for that and I know a lot of it was lost to the hurricane....but the seaweed problem prompted many to leave the property to beach elsewhere.. (Entering the water you had to beware of little sea urchins as well as trying to avoid the big globs of seaweed ) and it made snorkeling visability poor. A day trip to Magens Bay/beach was wonderful. The pool was small but clean and never seemed to be overcrowded...The no see ums and sand flies were a bit annoying and we came away with more than a few bites. . I don't think they fumigated/fogged?? like the major resorts I have been too ) This was not a 5 star resort but this is exactly what I had wanted for this particular vacation . I enjoyed the AI, as I did not want to bother leaving the resort and paying taxis to take me to other restaurants . Besides knowing how expensive the food is on the island. The menu was fine for us, but staying a whole week it would have been a little limiting. It was nice to hear from the employees how the owners tried to get the place up and running quickly after the hurricanes, to give employment back to the people and how they invested their own $ to do so. Happy employees make the vacationers happy! Enjoyed our stay!
